PRICE: $$$ You won't find better ticket deals for Disney than military promo tickets and anyone with a military identification card can purchase 6 tickets at the promo price per year per park --Disneyland/Disneyworld. Paid $319 for 3 day Park Hopper pass for Disneyland. SWAG/AMENITIES: -Event and theme park tickets -Equipment rental STAFF & EXPERIENCE: Had a little wait when we came in, and signed up on the guest list. Once our name was called, we were greeted politely and questioned about our needs. We were informed of the deals on the Disneyland tickets and were able to purchase and secure them right on the spot they told us how to use the tickets. It's not the same as the old days where you just show up with a ticket handed to the person and you're through. I recommend for any military members or dependence trying to get tickets for Disney or universal.

Great place for a party…read more This is a spacious and beautiful location on the AF side of the base. The facility has a full fridge and working deep sink. There are a couple or outlets if you want to bring a radio or rice cooker ;) And you can't have rice without having some kind of meat. There's two stationary grills on property. The trash is taken out by management when you turn the keys back in and pick up your deposit. I believe the deposit is $250. There are bathrooms in the back. No porta potties thank God. No real flying creatures to stanch your food and plenty of fresh air. You will get the occasional roar of a plane engine since the runway is close by and sometimes you see a naval ship just off the coast heading out or doing maneuvers. Overall five stars. The scenery is beautiful and he can't beat the price. M

Foster Point Peninsula on Hickam AFB is the absolute worst place for a picnic lunch! Please don't…read morego there. It is so ugly! It is surrounded on three sides by pristine azure waters... YUCK! You can see the skyline of Honolulu and the silhouette of Diamond Head... so horrific! Nearby sail boats gently rock to small waves on the aforementioned pristine azure waters... you do not want to see this! There is no comfortable place to sit and eat. There are only maybe a dozen clean tables from which to choose: some in the shade, some in the sun, and some are under a pavilion to use in the unlikely event it rains during your picnic... Don't take the chance! Today during lunch (well, for the first few minutes) I had to share the peninsula with one other picnicker. Sure he was like 40 yards away, but you shouldn't have to put up with this! And the wind! Today it was so blustery that it threatened to blow my napkin off the table... not once, but TWICE! Oh and it is so noisy... did I mention the sail boats and the waves? Well, they're not silent, ya know! They make this monotonous "lap-lap-lap" sound that might drive you crazy! And you'd be dining only a couple miles from the airport. So as you watch the lumbering jets lift off gracefully into the sky, you can actually hear them. .. It's horrendous! It so far out of the way! It takes minutes and minutes (maybe as many as five) to drive out there from the base proper.... Don't waste your valuable time! So in short, take my advice: Do not put up with ugliness, then uncomfortable conditions, the noisiness, and the long long ride out to Foster Point Peninsula for a picnic lunch! It's just not worth it. But if you do, you'll likely see me there enjoying my picnic lunch; and if you do, feel free to wave. But try to keep your 40 yards separation! ;-)

I got tickets for the USS Arizona memorial online about a month before our visit. They are also released 24 hours in advance for the next day, and the standby line seemed to be efficient the day we were there (a July Tuesday). The cost of the tickets is $2, which is actually just a booking fee. Tickets for the other tours (the battleship, submarine, and aviation museum) may be purchased at the visitors' center. The film that accompanies the USS Arizona tour is separate from your ticket time, so see that before or after getting in line for your reservation. After checking in, you'll hear a short Pearl Harbor history lecture by one of the rangers, then you'll be ferried to the memorial. You don't have to arrange or plan for the ferry outside of your reservation. There's a very tiny gift shop with tons of souvenirs, but it's difficult to navigate with wall-to-wall swarms of other guests. Parking is free, and our Uber there from Waikiki wasn't outrageous. We made the mistake of taking a cab back, though, and that was very expensive. Resist the urge to jump into one of the waiting cabs and just wait for an Uber back. There were also shuttles.

What a cool experience and great opportunity to be here and be a part of this. We were supposed to be on site and in line 10mins ahead of our 8am tour - we didn't arrive until 759am. The ranger allowed us to stay in line and told us to wait until the 815am boat. The rangers were very professional and helpful and we appreciated them, The tour to the Arizona and the exhibits all around the Pearl Harbor Memorial is very well done. Ranger Price is the gentleman who took care of our group and he was quite professional and did a very good job.

As someone who has been lucky enough to visit multiple ships and submarines across the country and see the different exhibits they offer, I think this one might be a little overpriced for what they offer. Don't get me wrong, it is really cool to walk through the ship and see all the different sections and pieces of history, but the ticket price is a little steep (even for military families) and mainly for that reason I don't think I would go back. I also think they are missing some more interactive sections like those offered by other decommissioned ships. Also, they lack signage across the ship and we almost missed a HUGE indoor section because we didn't even know where to go next. If it wasn't because my husband is a sailor and knows his way around a ship, I am pretty sure I would have missed half of the exhibit. Did my sailor husband loved it? Absolutely. Would I come back if it weren't for him? Probably not.

I know lots about the history but seeing it in person is quite remarkable. We had spent the weekend seeing the Aircraft's and various ships. Perhaps ill go again soon just to see it again. While we were their we went to the football stadium the NFC & AFC play in. it has a flea markes all around it and is exciting to see.

I believe I selected the 2nd earliest slot. When you get to Pearl Harbor, there's 2 main exhibits that give a good summary of the history surrounding the events at Pearl Harbor. Those are free and don't require any sort of ticket. I can see it getting fairly busy later in the day, and it might be harder to get up close to some of the displays. Before getting to the USS Arizona, there's a short film and one of the employees emphasized that the USS Arizona is a burial site, so we should be respectful. Afterwards, it was a short boat ride to the USS Arizona. Immediately at the USS Arizona memorial, the mood was very solemn. Over 2 thousand people lost their lives from the attack on Pearl Harbor, and obviously that's a lot of people, but it's hard to imagine/visualize. But at the memorial, all their names are displayed on the wall. It's very emotional to see all those names and to think about what their families and friends must have gone through to learn about what happened to their loved one. It seemed like everyone there was respectful, including children. The memorial itself is not very large, so you can really take your time to look around and read before the next group disembarks and you can take that boat back. There are many other exhibits at the Pearl Harbor site, but as far as I know, they require some sort of entry fee/reservation. History buffs would love this and could easily spend hours looking at everything. Unfortunately I didn't have too much time, so I only went to the USS Arizona but I still enjoyed it and I thought it was very well done.
