Every teacher we have had for four years you can tell has been hand chosen by the owner, the teachers are the cream of the crop. They have the students work hard, learn important life lessons (working as a team, being respectful, self confidence, taking criticism well), pay very close attention to technique, and are extremely creative. The most beautiful thing about this studio is watching how the students who go there blossom. It is amazing to watch the kids from the preschool ages into the teenage ages. Where they become such talented dancers, but young adults that are wonderful role models (in their manner, dance, behavior, etc.) to the younger ones. The recital has always been a magical time for our family. It is very organized, children are kept safe, it is done in a professional venue, and my kids ADORE being a part of it. Know that you have to be organized yourself as a parent for your child do have just as a magical time as mine do. We love UDA!! I hate to write anything ill…read moreof others but I don't have really anything great to say about this studio.. which is AKA Studio 22. Our experience dancing here has been one full of high drama and unprofessionalism. As one of the teachers left the studio (which obviously happens now and then) the owner, MaryAnn, was super unprofessional in her manner of filling the teachers spot. There were distasteful emails sent out creating drama and negativity. So much so that my 13 year old refused to go back. She picked up on the vibe. Upon our decision to leave (and many others did too for the same resason) Maryann, again unprofessionally, sent emails and letters billing us for a $100 cancellation fee. I attempted to contact Maryann about the fee because I felt that I shouldn't have to pay it because it was her being difficult, unprofessional (fighting with a mother in the hallway), and negative that caused us to want to leave. She refused to accept my phone calls and wouldn't discuss the matter. Wouldn't even afford me the decency of a phone call before she sent the matter to collections within a 6 week period. I am not writing this because of the fee only. I did pay it because I signed my name to a contract and I upheld my side of the contract. Maryann, however, did not. She agreed to create an atmosphere where the girls could develop and enjoy dance. I didn't speak of any of the "drama" in front of my daughter. In fact, I didn't want to leave the studio because I had already paid for costumes. But my daughter didn't want to dance there and I didn't feel good about sending her to a place for 10 hours a week that left her feeling of the negativity. The teachers here were great- my daughter didn't complain of that. It was simply the owner.

My daughter has been in dance many years, this studio is very…read morepoorly organized, the front desk staff is absolutely clueless to any questions, didn't know performance info, billing info, costume info, how to do hair etc. The focus mainly on their competition teams, which there are so many its confusing, and the other dancers are just not as important. The recitals are in the middle of the week, at 5pm, and working parents are supposed to have their dancer to the venue dressed with hair and make up done before then. Ridiculous. Also, two recitals with different dances and same costume was really lame. Especially when one of the groups 'costume' consisted of a too large tshirt, shorts, and men's tube socks. Oh, and they had to pay for that just like any others. The recital itself was PATHETIC! There was absolutely NO respect for the dancers onstage by the audience, people coming and going, cameras, screaming babies, teens cheering their friends on, and way too many dances that were just too similar. Especially with the amount of open air splits and 'crotch shots' as I overheard someone call them, was just kinda gross to watch after awhile. Picture day was a chaotic joke. Unorganized, way too hot, way to many dancers at the same time trying to get them done. What was supposed to take 15-30 mins took hours. Will not recommend this studio to anyone!

The teachers are amazing everybody that works there has been nothing but kind to us. It feels like a family. We used to belong to a different dance school and we were not treated well. So it's nice to be at this dance school where we are treated like a family it means the world to us and our girls are very happy.
