I chose to go with my local eye center for LASIK because I was nervous and wanted a more personal, kind, caring and professional experience than I thought I would get with a large commercial company like Hoopes or somewhere else. But I was wrong. The day of they had an over booked schedule which didn't allow for much wait time for the Valium to kick in for me so after only 10 minutes of waiting and me not feeling any differentr and still very nervous they told me I could either go in now without it kicking in or I could reschedule. I had already taken time off work to be there and was frustrated with this and said as much. They just shrugged and said people do it all the time without being drugged. They were aware of my high anxiety as I had had an attack earlier that week when I came to their office for a set of pre tests and exams but convinced me I would be fine. I went into the operating room and laid down and they couldn't get the suction cup to stay on my eye. The nurse and doctor kept getting very frustrated with me, angrily telling me to look down at my feet and stop moving my eye....Really really poor bedside manner that made my anxiety shoot up even more. The suctioning hurt as well and I started to cry from all of it. They ended up not being able to perform the LASIK in one eye because they had done too many attempts and now my eye was bruised and swollen and they told me I would just have to come back another time which after this experience I really didn't want to do as you can imagine. Super frustrating overall.... I did eventually go back and they *barely* got it. The eye they bruised also does not see 20/20 and still has some astigmatism. read more

Dr. Bird and his staff at Utah Valley Eye Center are simply the best at what they do. I have been his patient for over 30 years, and actually moved out of state, but I have found the quality of his care and his diagnostic skills be unmatched, so much so that I now drive back every year, just to continue to be seen by him. Not only is he exceptionally good with tricky conditions, he has a heart of gold and is particularly kind and patient with my son, who has a number of special needs. Dr. Bird has such a high standard of care, and he makes sure to hire assistants and staff who are also very kind, competent, and compassionate people. His office is run like a well oiled machine, and there is rarely longer than a five minute wait. In 30+ years of seeing him, not once has there ever been a snag with scheduling. Further, he always gives trial contacts first, or orders a pair if needed, so you can try your new prescription before you pay for a box. He always wants to make sure your eyes are the most comfortable before investing, and the pricing has always been very reasonable. For a while I tried other optometrists when I lived out of state, but the quality of care I have experienced here is unmatched. Now I will always come back, no matter what state I'm in. This place was so professional & so eager to help with my specific needs. I have a very hard time walking and didn't realize it was such a long walk from the parking lot into the office . I sat down at the first place I came to after coming in through the front door and I called the desk telling them I would be late because I had to sit down and rest for a moment. I asked her how much further the suite was from where I was sitting and she offered to bring me a wheelchair. She not only came out with the wheelchair and wheeled me into the office , but she was very kind at the same time and even brought me my paperwork to fill out as I was sitting down. The doctor and the aide was very professional and informative. They didn't even pressure me into buying their own glasses . When I was through, the same lady at the secretary desk wheeled me out to my car . If I could give more stars to this place I definitely would! read more

I had a sewer leak at my apt. that was so bad I've been in the long term Marriot for a month. There was black mold in addition to the sewage. They ripped the wall open and used giant fans to dry the mess out before they fixed it. This blew germs and debri everywhere for several days, which irritated my eyes severely because I went daily to check the progress. After a month of using old anti biotic eye drops, which worked some but not completely, I gave up and went to see Dr. Bird. Its been 48 hours and it's such a relief that my eyes don't hurt and aren't red! The prescribed antibiotic and moisturizing drops make my poor eyes feel Normal finally! And Dr. Bird tore the moisturizer eye drop box open to show me a $3 discount coupon inside for my mext purchase! After waiting longer than I should have (I was pretty nervous about someone performing surgery on my eyes), I arranged to have Dr. Michael Lloyd perform cataract surgery on me--first on one eye and a few weeks later on the other. What an amazing difference! I no longer need glasses and while I thought I might need readers for close work, I don't need them either. I used to think my wife used ecru colored sheets but discovered after surgery that they were bright white all along. After the first eye was done, I went around closing first one eye and then the other. Not quite like night and day, but almost! The surgery itself was painless and Dr. Lloyd could not have taken more care to answer questions and then to give me a result with which I could not be happier. I was greeted by a friendly smiling front desk person named Pam. She was helpful and checked me in and out at the end of my appointment. I was grateful to have Dr Cook take out my eye stents he was quick and fast and was kind to say I was brave, even though it did hurt more on one eye than the other. I enjoyed his stories about his grandpa and the land he owned. He is such an interesting individual, he loves being outdoors! I was very glad to be put in a different room rather than the one where I got my stitches out. I had a huge fainting spell and wasn't looking forward to that room again. I am grateful for a wonderful staff that help me throughout all my appointments. It was worth all the driving from St. George up and back. I scheduled a routine full eye exam with Dr. David Jones, a new, but very experienced doctor in this group. Our former doctor in this group, who we loved, had retired. Dr. Jones was very pleasant and friendly. He was careful and very thorough, and asked periodically during the exam if I had questions about him or any procedure. He listened carefully to all my comments and seemed genuinely interested in my concerns. He explained clearly some eye conditions that I could develop, but do not have. I found him to be very upbeat and encouraging, and I felt completely at ease. He noticed an eyelash that had become embedded in an oil gland and removed it so expertly that I felt nothing. I am delighted with him as my new eye doctor and look forward to my exam next year. Highest recommendation! read more

Dr Lloyd had been working with me for several years now, stopping the spread of glaucoma in my left eye. After an initial use of eye drops to control the reduction of damaging eye pressure, which drops I would have had to use for the rest of my life, Dr Lloyd performed several surgical procedures which allowed excess pressure to leak from the eye eliminating the need for further use of the eyedrops. i visit Dr Lloyd every 4 months to ensure that the surgical corrections continue to perform as needed - over these last few visits my eye pressure has stayed at a steady 6 Lbs, which is perfect. Dr Lloyd is kind and listens to even everything you say. He ignores nothing and explains in detail every question I have had. I think Dr Lloyd is one of if not the best ophthamologist in Utah. read more

Michael lloyd is the best doctor I have a very unique situation I had gone to many doctors some of them brand name and they had refused to take my case and didnt have the interest in fixing my dangerous eye condition, I had them had to do some investigating on which doctor takes my insurance and it was michael Lloyd he is 45 min away from me and I was sure he would tell me the same thing, he was very concerned when he saw My eye and was determined to do an emergency surgery and to fix the issue, he is amazing and will not give up until he has done the absolute best my only regret is having to waiste my money with all these other terrible doctors I wish I would have found him from the beginning he could have saved me so much pain and agony. i highly highly recommend Michael Lloyd read more

Excellent care-Dr Frank is incredible, kind, knowledgeable and professional. His quick response to finding an available surgeon for the next day's consult was impressive! He's done that before for me too. It shows he cares, and has utmost confidence in his very capable associates. We were greeted kindly by the sweet and very professional Devry, what a way to start the whole experience! Devon continued the kindness as he accommodated my wheelchair through all the eye tests, (if you know, you know) and into the eye exam. he kept us posted throughout an unexpected wait, on the progress of Dr Frank'S arrival to our room. I absolutely had the best reception there-ever. Kim has ADHD more effervescent than my own! I've never met anyone like her in my life. She did the exam well, and helped me see that surgery was necessary (and probably has been needed for several years) which came as a blow and a big shock. Nobody wants to admit the 'ol bod is wearing out-but she made it seem like a good thing, and emphasized the blessing it will be-like soon being able to actually SEE a car coming at me and cutting me off-before it's too late. Yeah. I don't know what took me so long to ask my primary care doctor if I should see an eye specialist. So thankful I did, and I'm actually looking forward to my surgery with Dr. Cook now. Oy'Ve... I went from a big hole in my cranium Wed. The dermatologist wanted a skilled plastic surgeon to close it up. The office immediately saw me at 5:00pm. And the staff were Fabu++++. I was scheduled for 5AM Thursday. I cant say enough wonderful things about this office. I would highly chose this office over many others to pick from in Utah Valley. Dr. Cook who is a funny as he is skilled. What a brilliant team. I will be returning for my face lift in the future. I trust Dr. Cook and his amazing staff explicitly. I really love this place. I always get treated with respect by friendly staff and doctors. I wish I had heard of this place sooner. I used to go to Excel eye center. The doctor never told me I had cataract. When I went to Utah Valley eye center. The doctor saw it on my first visit. That is the reason I was seeing fog around the lights, and think that the foggy. Thanks to Dr. Christensen. Are you enjoy a clearer vision. I still see fog around the light, but the nights are not foggy for me. i Don't need to get my face so close to the computer or the phone. I have been to 3 different doctors since I moved and found myself right back to Dr Dunn, she is absolutely amazing and I will continue traveling from Arizona to see her, I absolutely love Dr Dunn! When it comes to kind, caring and very intelligent, Dr Dunn is the doctor! Tammy at the front desk was so helpful with my insurance, I really appreciated it. I called in the early afternoon with a question about a bump on my eyelid. The lady who answered the phone had me take a photo of my eye and text it to the office. She showed the picture to Dr. Cook, and within 10 minutes of my phone call, she called me back and had me come in to see the doctor. I didn't have a very long wait (maybe 20 minutes) before Dr. Cook looked at my eye and decided to take care of the bump right then. Even though I was basically a walk-in he took the time he needed to take care of my problem and never made me feel like he was trying to rush me through. Utah Valley Eye Center was able to get us in early for an emergency when I was in a lot of pain. The staff was kind, especially seeing my eyes closed and hurting,as was Dr. Edmunds. They were able to get us back right away. He wisely asked me to come back for a follow-up appointment the next day to make sure my eyes were healing properly before potentially spending the entire weekend in pain. When I came back in, one of the receptionists recognized me and commented on how I seemed to be feeling better. It was nice to be noticed! The office was bright, clean, and not crowded. My husband and I look forward to coming back for our eye wellness exams and perhaps to purchase new glasses. read more

First appointment with Dr. Lloyd and team. Very impressed. The exam began early to my scheduled visit. Reception made a great first impression , polite , explained process well. Initial assessment was thorough and I felt like my nurse was gathering information to accommodate a better exam and treatment. Very appreciative of Dr. Lloyd's approach and care. I had a referral to see Dr. Todd Cook. An appointment was made for about a month later. The next day, I received a call stating that there was a cancellation for the following business day. Of course, I took it. The visit was with his DNP, Tasha Walker. I arrived a few minutes early, and the staff got me started right away with the paper work (insurance, etc). I waited for just a few minutes and was taken to have some testing done. I saw Tasha without waiting. She was thorough and confirmed that I am ready for a procedure. The procedure is scheduled for two weeks from now! So far, I am very pleased with the professional and personal attention I have received. read more

I have to get yearly eye exams. I realy look forward to them. The offices are always clean and comfortable. The waiting room is fantastic with the saltwater aquarim makes with envey as I can no longer have one of my own. Dr. Lloyd has a great way of careing about me and is always has a smile and is interested how life is treating me. He has always explains what he is going to examine my eyes and after wards explains what he found and what I need to do or aware of prior to my next appointment. I am never left with any questions.
