I love coming here in the Spring and the Fall. They always have a good selection to choose from. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They now only accept cash or check as they have had issues in the past with credit cards (this is new). As long as you know that before you go, you won't have a problem. Tip: don't wear your nice shoes because they may get muddy.

In use, however, some problems became apparent - namely the pads began to mark with very light use. Simple, low heat things like teacups, mugs and serving dishes were leaving unsightly rings on the vinyl, which ruined the finish. To quote their marketing - "Our table protectors also come with a 550 degree heat shield to guard against any heat related mishap." Obviously, the pads will protect the table from high-heat items, as well as heat rings from mugs etc. but it's of little use if the pads themselves mark so easily with low-heat items. I reported my concerns to customer service, and heard back a few weeks later. They asked for more details and I sent them on some photos. I never heard back from them, despite subsequent emails to their support person. When I was placing my order, I received a number of international phone calls from their sales representative. He really wanted me to place an order! I can only contrast this with the silence from their Customer Services when I had an issue. Berger's Table Pads are a good product, but in my opinion, and with light use, they are not as durable as I expected. It's a bit crazy to think that I might need protective pads to protect the finish of my Berger Table Pads - but that is the case. We were delighted with these pads when they arrived, but feel that we have been let down by Berger's Customer Service. I raved about the pads to others when they arrived, but feel that this customer experience has let them down greatly in my estimation.

Then they sold me a fingered oven glove which was just what I needed for my small hand. I have literally been looking for months for this thing. So then I asked them if they also had cotton candy and a pony and that's when I finally struck out. A real true-blue old hardware place like I like them. It's basically the Tardis inside. Looks like a standard Ace - but don't be fooled. Also, everyone is helpful and nice. A huge bonus. This is a bit of a drive for me but so worth it.
