If you don't know your way around Meriter, it's best to go to the information desk before you try and find the perinatal clinic. The clinic is located inside Meriter Hospital. They also use MyChart or there's is called MyUnityPoint or something like that... so you can check your appointments or even do the e-checkin which I've never done. But I guess that's an option if you prefer doing that instead of talking to the reception desk. Scheduling my appointments were really easy. I have to have three appointments a week here and with Dr. Lick @ UW Union Corners. It's difficult but they just want to make sure the baby and I are doing okay. So as long as my baby is doing well, I'm okay! The clinic is always clean and organised. They have complimentary tea and hot chocolate which is amazing given the change in weather!!! As soon as open enrollment for insurance was available, I made the move as fast as I could. I have never had a bad visit here. I've ALWAYS received the best care possible. As someone who is a zebra when they typically treat cows (referencing my very complex medical history) they've handled it with superior care, concern and streamlined servicing. I've had everything done from physicals, lab work, physical/cognitive therapy, specialized treatment plans and about anything else you can imagine-- including surgeries contracted through UW Health Systems. Yes, there are preapprovals required for certain types of concerns, but I've never had an issue with paperwork going and has been done with little to no effort on my part. My doctor is Kyoko Felland and I ABSOLUTELY love her attention to detail and focus on my overall health. She always knows me and my concerns without having to look up my chart. I enjoy seeing her so much, I'd consider her a friend if it wasn't awkward. :) My husband had another PCP but after my stellar experience with her, decided to make the witch to GHC as well. She spends a good amount of time with us each visit and even catches up with our personal life mentions from previous visits. My children all see

After arriving only a few minutes late, I was told that my appointment had already been canceled and that I would have to wait for another opening. I received no advance call or text notifying me of the cancellation. The entire process was extremely frustrating. When I first called urgent care, I was told to go to the ER. Because I wanted to see my primary care provider, I called for an appointment but was told that nothing was available and was directed back to urgent care. I then drove 30 minutes each way while in pain, only to have my appointment canceled because I was a few minutes late. I did not have time to wait indefinitely for another opening and had to drive home without receiving care. People do not visit urgent care because it is convenient or enjoyable--they go because they are in pain and need medical attention. A healthcare provider should show at least some understanding when a patient with a painful leg injury has difficulty walking quickly. Canceling the appointment immediately, without a call or text, showed a troubling lack of consideration for the patient's condition and time. This experience raises serious concerns about GHC's scheduling, communication, and patient care. Patients deserve better.

Bea, the check-in receptionist is fabulous. Last week I had an ear infection in my left ear and was like WTH? - Don't 2 year olds get these; damnit this *ish is painful! After being seen at urgent care last Monday and not feeling better I made an appointment, was asked detailed questions, examined and prescribed some meds after some discussed choices. All in all, over the course of 5 days I saw Doctors Karen Cooper MD, Paul Staskowski MD, and Krista Dopf, PA-C. The whole staff I've come into contact with on the 6th Floor E.N.T. seems to REALLY give a damn about their patients, present company included. The way they speak to people at the counters, on their way back to said examining rooms and the like - no one is rushing, the Ladies at the check-in desks are attentive, never rolling their eyes nor seeming disinterested/distracted, YOU are their main focal point. ...and I thank them for that. When you're feeling like *ish over easy it's nice that some people are still professional and caring.

I worked at this facility for a 3-month assignment earlier this year- one that I extended by an additional month, as I was having such a great experience. I provided care on all floors. I have worked in healthcare facilities in 14 states and the team at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison, really stands out in terms of quality of care, dedication to patient well-being, safety, kindness and compassion. Also, loved the cafeteria food and the front desk staff. The rehab teams in particular deserve a huge shout out. The OT, PT and Speech Therapists are some of the most dedicated and well-trained therapists I've worked with across the country, providing prompt, personalized, evidence-based care. The Wound Care, Environmental, Respiratory, Pharmacy and Nursing teams are also top notch. The patients and families were a delight to care for and I was honored to be here. Well done to all at SSH Madison. You make a great team and you have so much to be proud of.

My mother has made such an impressive recovery while being cared for at Select Specialty Hospital…read morein Madison WI. She was able to have her tracheostomy reversed in less than 2 weeks. She is now receiving occupational, speech and physical therapy in their brand new acute rehabilitation section of the hospital. The nurses are caring and experts in their field The case managers ( Kate and Sue are on top of things , even the CEO of the company has made time to see my mom when I had concerns. I am extremely grateful for such a compassionate, high tech facility! Thank you Select Specialty Hospital for all of your efforts in nursing my mom back to health!!!
