We had the flattened chicken breast, and it was exceptionally juicy, flavorful, and perfectly grilled--a definite must-order. If they ever add grilled dark meat to the menu, I think it would be even better. As it stands, this is an easy 5-star dish. Interestingly, the flavor reminded us of Nando's flame-grilled chicken, but we actually enjoyed this even more. The beef ćevapi was also freshly made with a great texture and was enjoyable. Personally, I found it a little under-seasoned, but that's likely because I prefer bolder, saltier, and spicier flavors. That's purely a matter of personal taste, and next time I'll probably bring along my favorite hot sauce or spices. The quality of the meat itself was excellent. The cucumber yogurt dip deserves a special mention. It tasted like it was made in-house, with a wonderfully fresh texture and the pleasantly tangy, sour notes that are difficult to find in most store-bought yogurt. Martino's is nothing less than a little piece of Italy right here in our own back yard. Family owned and operated for the past 55 years by the Martino family, it's hospitality and delicious array of numerous Italian-American comfort food is hard to surpass. I lost track of how many years we have been making this pilgrimage to this awesome old-school, charming, little corner store/restaurant, but it always something we all look forward to. We have to pay special thanks to Concetta, the matriarch of the Martino family, and daughters Lina and Connie for always going out of their way to host our get together. Martino's Grocery is a BYOB, all you can eat feast; and if you leave hungry, shame on you. I've said it in the past and I'll say it again, being at Martino's is reminiscent of my old time Italian family get togethers back in the 50's and 60's. How can you beat a long afternoon with longtime friends, than with stupid jokes, busting chops, and lots of lively conversation.
