Tonight we ended up at Uzy's Pizza & Gyro in Bedford. We showed up at about 7:20-they close at 8 pm but the worker was happy to serve us. There were two other parties there getting food to go. The place was uncomfortably warm inside. We started with mozzarella sticks, and the guy gave us an order of fries as well. The mozzarella sticks were good, the fries needed salt or seasoning. The kids ordered a large pepperoni pizza. They ate the whole thing, so I guess they liked it Hubby and I each got a Philly cheesesteak and a gyro and split them. Honestly, I wasn't too impressed with either. The Philly cheesesteak looked overcooked and was on the dry side-very little sauce or cheese. The meat was underseasoned on both of the sandwiches. Bob and I rolled down to Uzys today. Wow, pretty good!!! Burgers tasted fresh definitely not frozen pattys, toppings were fresh buns were soft, fries were crisp and hot. Delicious pizza. Ordered a classic pepperoni and the margherita pizza. Kids loved the pepperoni and the margarita was simple but flavorful.

We had been wanting to try Uzy's for a while but that isn't really our home base so we never seemed to be in the area during their open hours. We made it one day and were really impressed! Both the owner and the other person were extremely friendly and happy to talk about the food, and really anything else as well! The first thing we learned was that they have some off menu items. We went with the gyro pizza but the eggplant sounded quite interesting and I have my eye on it for our next visit! The 3rd off menu item was a margherita pizza, and who wouldn't love that one?! We started with the fried mozzarella, which was pretty good. Nothing too special. The sauce, though - I want to say they called it grandma sauce but it has been several weeks and I am probably misremembering! It was amazing! I'd get the mozzarella sticks or anything else as long as it came with more of that sauce! We loved the gyro pizza. It had enough of everything without going overboard. They weren't skimpy either. It was a great balance of ingredients and flavors. I don't care too much for the outer crust on a pizza but I had some of that grandma sauce left so I dunked the crusts in the sauce and polished off every bite! They had old music videos playing on the TVs which I loved because the videos were from the 80s and 90s. I love music from the Gen X generation! The videos actually brought back memories I hadn't thought about in years!! I knocked off a star because there was an extremely unpleasant smell in the short hallway to the restrooms. It was so strong that I don't know how anyone in the restaurant couldn't smell it, but sure enough, I didn't smell it at our table. In the restroom itself, they had the toilet paper going under rather than over, which of course is incorrect! LOL!!! I didn't deduct a star for that, BTW! I hope to be in the area again soon and can time it so that we are there when Uzy's is open I'm going to pop back in and hope they still offer that eggplant pizza!! read more

This is not fast food. It is delicious made from scratch yummy goodness. I tried the cheeseburger and fries, both delicious. Restaurant is small, clean and comfortable temperature. A wonderful hole in the wall gem! I had seen this place a couple times running errands and am so glad I was able to give it a shot! Seems to be a one or two person operation. So their more limited hours are understandable. Thought I really hope they can expand some, they are Extremely friendly! We got a pizza to share, and oh my goodness. It reminds me of some of the pizza I had in NY that if you aren't paying attention you could end up eating the whole pizza before you realized it, it was that good! Okay so it was my mom and I's first time coming here. Only customers that were dining in and immediately were greeted by the owner. Super kind, friendly, and expressive guy. He's from NYC. Been here for the past 6 months from what I remember correctly. Anywho, this place is great. The food is awesome. First time I had a gyro pizza and yoooooo!!! Game changer. The owner is bringing something new to the table with that one. Meat lovers is a classic and he did great too. All their dough is made fresh daily! Another plus. Cons: there is a service charge fee for using a credit card. Price is on the higher end ($19.99 for a large supreme w tomatoes) . They only offer two sizes either a small or a Large. Stopped here for dinner after hearing good reviews, and really enjoyed the meal. We ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and a Philly sandwich. The pizza was well done where the chicken was finely chopped so you didn't end up with big chunks. The Philly was enjoyable and is a nice addition to the menu. We ordered and decided to dine there and the wait was fairly short and the owner was really nice and chatty. I will definitely be back to try out their gyro pizza. read more

Probably the worst $40 lunch ever - the gyro sandwich was not off the spit, the product was stone cold, there was way way way too much tzatziki sauce which rendered it stone cold. The meat - the small amount there was paper thin and probably microwaved - if it is not off a spit - can't call it a gyro. The word "gyro" comes from the Greek word gyros, which means "circle" or "to turn" well I suppose a microwave oven turns BUT COME ON they falsely advertise and their website contains a bunch of fake pictures of food they don't serve- that's illegal. gyro-. meat, usually lamb, roasted on a vertical spit, then thinly sliced, topped with onions, and usually served in a sandwich of pita bread. Onion rings stone cold - they also need to change the fryer oil - stinky. Pizza - what a joke "NY STYLE"?? store bought crust, nothing to it, and the garlic I requested as a topping that I paid for was not included so they also ripped me off there as well as everywhere else. I noticed Uzy's from the parking lot of Moon Wok a couple months ago when it first opened and bookmarked it in my head. After seeing several reviews and recommendations on Mid Cities Foodies group, I had to give it a try. Thanks to the Yelpers to help me decide on a pizza - THE GYRO PIZZA (and add tomatoes). We also ordered the Chicken & Gyro platter. The order was made in a reasonable time, when I got there, the pizza and the platter were sitting on the warmer to keep it hot. As soon as I brought the pizza in the car, my husband and I each ate a slice. It. Was. Delicious. I love that the pizza is a thin crust, but the sauce wasn't slathered on that the pizza was sloppy. It had a great flavor, perfect amount of sauce, and ingredients. 10/10 would get this again. I ordered the large and wish there was an even bigger size lol The chicken and gyro platter was a little on the disappointing side. The rice was probably a day old because it had a hard-ish bite to it and I was expecting the rice to be fluffy like other chicken and gyro platters I've had. But day old rice is not the end of the world. The chicken on the other hand was weird to me. They used diced frozen chicken tenders with the batter on it. My husband liked it, surprisingly. I was just expecting it to be like halal guys or New York Eats from Arlington. Everything else that came on the platter was fine. I did an online pickup order here, and will say that process was easy and my food was ready very quickly. It was all hot when picking it up, and the workers were all friendly while I was in the store. I ordered a gyro and a pizza - the pizza was definitely the better of the two. I would probably try other pizzas here... they are more of a New York style so be prepared to fold your slices. I'm confused by the reviews for this place. Not sure if it's friends and family of the owners leaving reviews or what.... I saw the good reviews and went in. It smelled really bad. Like a toilet. Maybe they are having plumbing issues? But who wants to eat in a place that smells like a bathroom?! There was also no one in there... and it was 12:30! I asked for the 12" pizza which was supposed to be $8.99 + $1 per topping. I asked for two toppings and the guy said $14... the pizza was 9.99 and $2 per topping. Ok, a little bait and switch there (someone needs to update the website and the order board inside).... I decided to leave and go to another pizza place down the road that gives a 3 topping pizza, salad and drink for $12 and smells nice. read more
