We have eaten here for years. We usually share a salad with mozzarella, tomatoes and olives with house dressing. It is delicious. The complementary bread is homemade and fresh as is everything else. The menu has a good variety of traditional fare and the service is consistently excellent. We also ordered a large pizza so there is some left to take home. This is a family restaurant with typical Italian decor and music. Very friendly this is our favorite go to pizza place. The highlight, by a long shot, was the calzone. Massive, cheesy, savory goodness. But the carbonara was the heaviest pasta I have ever had in my life. Yes, carbonara is rich and heavy, but this was not even true carbonara. It had cream in it, a ton of either oil or butter or both, and was made with mushrooms and ham. Ham?!? Tour of Italy was disappointing. All three components - alfredo, chicken parm, and lasagna - were bland and forgettable. Side salad was just American salad mix, mostly iceberg lettuce, and a chopped tomato. Ugh. The staff was super friendly. Speed of pick up order 5/5 met expectations as they said it would be ready between 4:45 and 4:55. Side salad with Caesar dressing was fresh and delicious! 5/5 Chicken Alfredo 5/5 chicken was packed with flavor and did not skimp on sauce. Prices are friendly as well as we were going to order at a different location but saw it was too pricy. This was perfect. Garlic bread was a little soggy since I got it togo but I reheated it in the Nuwave for 3 minutes and it's perfectly crispy. 5/5 Pepperoni pizza flavor 5/5. Cheesy and delicious with every bite. More on the soft side rather than crunchy. Could definitely crisp it more in the nuwave if that's your preference. I personally don't eat crusts unless it's thin crust so I can't speak much on that. Absolutely delicious pizza. All we had was pizza so I can't rate the other food or desert.

As an Italian from NYC, I've had my fair share of NYC pizza. Joe's is NYC style pizza but on a scale of 1-10, it falls maybe at a 5. Its not bad. Its just not great. The dough is very...doughy, which some people like. I prefer my slice with a little more crunch but I can deal with doughy. The crust is blah, the cheese is pretty decent but there's very little sauce on the pizza and they don't cook it long enough to get a golden color to some of the cheese. In NYC, we do an "oil" test. Fold the slice. If it drips oil out the back, it will be cheesy enough. Joe's slice was foldable but dry as a bone, even with pepperoni slices on top, which really surprised me considering how much oil pepperoni usually generates when cooked. This pizza tastes a lot like "dollar slices" in NYC, which are not bad slices, just not the best. They will fill a college student's belly but it's not the first choice in pizza. Here in Texas, Joe's doesn't have a whole lot of competition, but there is one local pizza joint who does it better. Tony's in Watauga (they're from Brooklyn) makes a good pie. Would Tony's be the best in NYC? No, but I would give Tony's slice a 7 out of 10. And to everyone who says Nikki's, I say heck no! The cheese tastes too bitter. As for Joe's other food: the calzone was a bummer. The calzone was supposed to be sausage and cheese - why does the sausage inside taste like Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage? When I order sausage and cheese, I'm expecting slices of Italian sausage or crumbled Italian sausage. And they don't do garlic knots so we ordered the garlic bread slices. Those were pretty good and Joe's makes a nice marinara to go on the side. They need more of that marinara on the pie! Anyway, if you live in the Haltom/Watauga/NRH area and you're a local, you will probably like Joe's because it's acceptable. But if you're on the hunt for something that tastes more authentic without needing to visit the Northeast, this will leave you a little disappointed. read more

Went here based off a recommendation from a friend Didn't hate it, but definitely didn't love it either. We ordered the spinach dip appetizer, Tortollini with pink sauce, and Tour of Italy. All hefty portion sizes. Spinach dip was SO RICH. Like crazy heavy. Minimal spinach and hardly any seasoning, if any at all. Tortollini was just okay. Husband said the Tour of Italy "didn't wow me but it didn't disappointment me either. Just very middle-of-the-road." Food is very decently priced, especially given the portion sizes. Much less expensive than most Italian restaurants, portion sizes are huge, but the flavors are definitely lacking. All dishes were unfortunately bland and lacked any significant flavor. All entrees came with side salad and house rolls. Rolls also lacked flavor though they looked great. Side salad was literally mixed lettuce with one tomato. The staffing also didn't make sense. The dining room is not very large at all, which we liked, but they had 4-5 waiters/waitresses and all of them seemed to be serving all of the tables to some extent but were clearly not communicating to each other. We were being asked the same questions like every 5-7 minutes by someone new and it seemed very disorganized. It seems like it would make sense to have one waiter/waitress assigned to 2-3 tables instead of them all working the whole dining room. The staff were very nice and helpful, though. Hmmm, I'm hoping maybe it was just a bad night, we ordered a Philly cheesesteak, pepperoni pizza and Lasagna via DoorDash. The driver had to wait a considerable amount of time so we really expected our food to be hot and fresh. It. Was. Not. For reference, the delivery address is less than 5 miles, but the pizza was cold and really greasy, I don't expect pepperoni to be matte dry by any stretch of the imagination, but it just wasn't up to par. The person that ordered the lasagna ate a portion of it, and just didn't enjoy it, as a matter of fact, we are the type of people that like left overs, but the remainder went in the trash. The Philly was eaten by a 16 year old that said it was pretty good, so there's that. I want to try them again, maybe go in person, it's just that we have someone with mobility issues do dining in restaurant isn't always possible. My Italian cravings typically come in the form of Stromboli. After three hours in the dentist chair (before which I didn't eat), dinner time was Stromboli-time. I've been wanting to try Joe's for some time because of the high Yelp reviews. We arrived to find a lively room densely decorated with a homey, cluttery decor and plenty of New York references. The way service works here is that servers do not take individual ownership of the table. All servers serve all the tables. So, we gave our drink orders to one server, our food orders to another, other's checked on us and brought us our orders, etc. There were a few times I was just looking around the room at the decor and the people and a server would come over and ask "can I get you something?" I brought a Rahr & Sons Bourbon Barrel Aged Winter Warmer, for which a server brought me a wine glass. We ordered a cheese bread app with marinara, Stromboli for me, Lobster Ravioli for her. Hers came with a salad. She asked for a Caesar, for which the server said there was an up-charge. Then she offered me her side salad and said i could have Caesar on it. But wait, isn't that what she just asked for and you said there was an up charge? It got past me and a few minutes later, a server brought us a side salad and a very large Caesar salad that was absolutely drenched in dressing. Like, inedibly soaked in it. We explained the confusing order to the next server who took the Caesar back without issue or charge. The app was ok, a bit light on cheese and long on Alfredo for me. The marinara was robust and tomatoish. The Stromboli was tasty but had a lot of air in it. I'm not expert enough to speak authoritatively, this seems to be a style of Stromboli. I'm a fan of the version that's more like a tart. Ingredients were distributed through most of the roll, though the tips were strictly bread. The Ravioli was quite good, a tad on the bland side for my taste. But, gf loved it. We had a very positive experience. Prices are good, and service very good. Joe's has a family owned feeling to it, which may be true I didn't ask. The room was a bit loud, but we were able to converse just fine. Next time I'll try some pizza! read more

Was at Joe's to pick up 25 mins after I placed the order. An older woman asked if she could help me and walked away after I was there to pick up. Then she came back asked the man behind me if he needed help and she helped him! What the what??? Rude. I had to ask her if she could help me to get my pizza. Weird. The pizza itself is nothing to write home about. The crust isn't crispy or chewy. The toppings were sparse. Lots of grease on top- it that's your thing you're in luck.
