We rented a home on Mercer lake through them July 11-13. We arrived to broken out window which I immediately documented and it took them several hours to reply. We got eaten alive by mosquitoes coming thru the busted out window both nights. Before arrival I had asked if we needed to provide propane for the grill they talk about that is there. They assured me they had propane. Tank was empty. Was promised if I got a refill in town and provided receipt they would refund me. It's been days and no refund and now the main branch of vacasa can't seem to get any answers out of the Florence team. While the house itself and location was beautiful the team running it seems to lack care or any consideration. I am furious we paid so much and yet they can't seem to stand up to their promises. I booked a condo in old town Florence for a couple of days while I'm working on my home in Florence. On the morning of our check in date I hadn't received any information on the address or check in process so I called Vacassa and they emailed me the information. I was told I could check in early but I was turned away at the door by maintenance, who said check in time is 4:00 and I needed to go away until then. Once we checked in I was planning to set up appointments and work with service providers while in town, but there was no internet so that messed up my work plans. I called the host to inform them of the lack of internet, TV and heat in one of the bedrooms. They said someone from management would get back to me that evening. No one did. I texted the host in the morning to let them know that there was no internet, TV or heat. Someone came out in the afternoon and fixed the heat. Later that afternoon they called me and had ME talk to Spectrum to fix the internet. What host has their guests fix problems with the rental?? Wifi and TV are listed on their ad as essential amenities. Lack of heat is a health and safety violation. My complaints went un-addressed. Don't stay at their properties! read more

We rented a house, Whale's Crossing in Florence, by Vacasa through VRBO. It was not as pictured. The solarium, the original attraction, had two panels missing. I don't know what attracted the birds to the entrance. That area was covered with bird droppings. It was an obstacle course to get to the beach. I took photos of the numerous hazardous parts of the house. Additionally, none of the 3 bedrooms were on the same floor of the house. read more

Summary: They are not responsive! They do not make things right when they mess up!! We booked a vacation rental managed by Vacasa through Airbnb and it was terrible experience. Vacasa initially messaged us through Airbnb messenger that we would receive an EMAIL with the code to enter the place the morning of our stay. We requested earlier access (we weren't allowed to check in until 5, which is later than the standard check in of 2 or 3). They did not give a guarantee about earlier check in, so we didn't arrive until 5 PM. We scoured our email inbox, spam folder, and deleted messages to find the email but we couldn't find it. We called Vacasa, who says they have 24/7 customer service, and were on hold for more than an hour without anyone picking up. We called Airbnb to ask them for help and the representative reached out to Vacasa and wasn't able to get a response either! The weather was terrible outside and we all needed to use the restroom. TWO HOURS after check-in time we got an email saying that we already sent the code this morning but here it is again. There was NO apology, and NO phone call! Airbnb was amazing and called us asking if we had a received a code and we told them everything. They reached out again to Vacasa and Vacasa still claimed they had sent an email. Why would your guests wrongly accuse you of not sending the email!? Airbnb ended up compensating us a very small amount, but it wasn't from Vacasa. Vacasa never reached out to make things right. This company needs to use the Airbnb messenger app to keep a consistent and secure communication with their tenants. If I was able to reach out directly to the owners of these vacation homes, I would tell them they need to change to different property managers! After reading other reviews, it looks like they have caused frustrating experiences for others as well. read more

This company is a SCAM, stay as far away as you can. VRBO policy allowed for a full refund if cancelled within 30 days. We cancelled 6 days after making the reservation, and Vacasa refused to respond to dozens of phone calls and emails asking to cancel. In fact, they made it IMPOSSIBLE to cancel the reservation that was more than 2 months away. We had to dispute all charges with the credit card company. read more

Horrible had family come over and got kicked out for having a service dog!!!! Called Vacasa said they will call me back in a hour. This is unethical and illegal. I will be contacting my lawyer in the morning. Incase you are wondering it's house 15226 after dune delight. It was anything but delightful. Also I saw at least one camera on the property. Who knows how much the camera is used to check in on guests. Update; they called back and said that the service dog can stay. Mind you this is after making grandma think she was going to get kicked out at night with no where to go. The damage has been done, a person with a disability was made to feel unwanted and unwelcome in their guest home. Denying some one with a service animal is no different than denying service to someone in a wheelchair. They also want my grandma to do a bunch of forms and reviews to attempt to maybe get a refund. They know she is an older woman and probably won't do it. They should admit their wrong and refund her money. Vacasa should also remove this homeowner from their service. read more

Let me tell you a story. We had tried unsuccessfully to rent my childhood home, located in Dunes City, off and on, for the past 15 years. It was beginning to become bothersome managing the property and filling it with responsible renters, so we decided to seek the services of vacasa. A representative came to the house and performed an assessment of the whole property. After having completed this assessment, she stated that some work would have to be done on the house before they would manage the property. She went on to say, however, that her son had recently moved to the area and was looking for a place to rent. She insisted and insisted, adding that her son would be able to help with the work that needed to be done, while also paying rent. We received emails from this woman, using her vacasa work email to tell sob stories about her sons' hardships and enquiring as to whether we would consider the offer she was so desperately trying to make. Ultimately we agreed, trusting her as a representative of an agency we had paid for, to be an honest person and not screw us completely. That family acted as the worst sort of squatters for over six months. Their personal habits were so foul that the bathroom floors had to be replaced. They didn't pay for garbage and stored their refuse in the garage, where they also kept their oversized huskies chained in cages. They didn't pay rent. They didn't pay electricity. Ultimately this scumbag kicked his foot through a board on our deck amd tried to sue our insurance company. This was the last straw. We are not a litigious sort, and so preferred to cut our losses and evict him. Amd when i finally was able to enter the property once again, I found that he had fostered a rat infestation that I had only thought possible in the seediest parts of new york. I still wonder if I should have pursued vicasa for fraud and larceny in the civil courts.... After contacting vicasa the only thing that they would do was admit responsibility, apologize profusely, and promised they would replace our locks with new ones. They even stated that the employee responsible for this fiasco was one of their better employees. What a colossal joke. When a representative finally decided to bother himself to show up, weeks after the promised date, he had bought the absolute cheapest locks he could find. Not only that, but he installed them in a way which caused the back door to be almost impossible to lock, saying that it was a problem with our door frame, and then and outright refused to replace the lock to the door leading into the garage. This is a company wherein thieves and charlatans thrive. I cannot imagine a worse experience to have paid for. read more

DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT deal with this company, EVER. In addition to posting false and misleading information online about the properties they offer, they may rent properties with safety and health violations, or in violation of state law (non-working or nonexistent smoke detectors) as was the case with our recent experience. They will then not be helpful in resolving claims for reimbursement for overpriced "vacations" which were horrendous in the extreme. read more

We have rented houses in Florence for over 10 years. When we started we were renting from Elson Shields (who was great), and then Vacasa took over. Their staff is also great, the only downside to Vacasa, is that when they took over, prices really went up. That said, you can still get a much nicer place to stay when in town if you rent a home, rather than getting a room at a motel in town. That is a fact. We have rented Parkside Haven (a beautiful home) several times, a large home, perfect for when the whole family comes. We most recently rented River Vista Condo (sleeps 4), 1220 Bay Street Unit #303 in Florence. We were very happy with this place. It is very conveniently located in Old Town, the balcony overlooks the river, very clean, stocked with everything you need, quality furnishings. You can have your morning coffee on the balcony and watch the seals, tide come in and out, birds, boats and wildlife on the dunes across the river and in the evening watch the sunset. It is a very short walk to the many good restaurants, quaint shops, marina and daily farmers market in Old Town. I would say the only downside to this place is that it is right next to the bridge and Hwy 101. If you are an extremely light sleeper, it could be an issue. It wasn't for us. We would not hesitate to rent River Vista Condo again. read more

Very awesome experience. The cottage is exactly as stated in the ad..I was very very sceptical as well as extremely hopeful that I wouldn't get suckered. So overjoyed that that was not the case. As stated, the cottage is exactly as advertised and much more! Very private, quiet, beautiful..and the view is phenomenal! The sun sets directly across the ocean from the front window...breathtaking view to eat meals by, or drink coffee and contemplate things..or just enjoy with an empty mind. The cottage is stocked with items to make the place feel like a home, rather than just another motel room..and for not a whole lot more than a room. There is even a canister with dog treats that my 4 legged girl loved! I would highly recommend this place, and vacasa in general to anyone looking to retreat from their lives like I had to for a bit. Definately worth the bucks to do so. I cannot wait to return, as well as looking into other places to explore..thanks to vacasa making it easy and affordable to do so. Thank you!! read more
