We had such a great stay at the Best Western Pier Point Inn! We had never stayed here before, so we weren't quite sure what to expect, but we were really happy with our choice and would absolutely stay here again. We arrived a little early and figured we'd ask if there was any chance of checking in early. We got lucky, and Lorenzo at the front desk was so nice and accommodating. He was genuinely happy to help us, which was such a great first impression. After heading out for our activities for the day, we came back to fresh-baked cookies in the lobby! Adam offered us some and was also incredibly friendly and welcoming. He really seemed to go above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff here really stood out during our stay. The hotel itself was clean, the beds were comfortable, and having both a pool and hot tub was a huge plus. The breakfast was also WAY better than the typical hotel continental breakfast. They actually have a full made-to-order breakfast, which was such a nice surprise! Between the amenities, breakfast, comfortable rooms, and especially the wonderful staff, we had a great experience. Definitely a place we'd stay again next time we're in Florence! read more

This is one of the most bizarre and gross rooms we ever stayed in. We had high hopes since its on the river and our room was supposed to have a view--a tree blocked it. Make sure you check when booking, if it matters to have a room with a view. The room itself--first the toilet was so low to the ground, my husband was uncomfortable and when you sit down the toilet paper roll is up above your head. The floor was cleaned with the wrong cleaner as it was thick and sticky, our shoes, feet etc stuck to it and I had to bring a wet towel to bed to clean my feet from it. The smell was gross, not sure what it was--just gross. Everything is old in the room, and the internet did not work for us, and I contacted the desk and they never got back to me. The room felt dirty and subpar, surprised this was a Best Western. read more

This hotel is really all about the highs and the lows. You might be delightfully surprised one moment, and then disappointed at a different thing the next moment. Let's get the not-so-great stuff out of the way first: Not Great: * The lack of housekeeping makes no sense. To have a housekeeper come in and spend a few minutes would really be nice: remove the trash, change out the towels, replenish the coffee, and wipe down the bathroom counter. Boom, you're done in 7 minutes. * Location. You can see it on the map: it's across the inlet, next to nothing. It's in a strange place that feels remote. But more on that later. * It's an older property that's been remodeled but only in a surface way. It still has those old steel bathtubs and an older-style look. It's good enough. But it could really use new bathrooms. Strip the popcorn ceiling, Etc. Great: * Staff, especially the breakfast ladies, were all cheerful, friendly, helpful, efficient. We can't say enough good things about them. * Location (again): While it's remote, it does have a spectacular view of downtown Florence. Open your curtain first thing in the morning for a great view. And you can walk to downtown Florence, by the way--it's just across the bridge. * Breakfast. A made-to-order omelette bar? Wow, how nice! And a separate hot tray with good scrambled eggs, biscuits. And waffles. Top-notch breakfast, nearly as good as our other Oregon Best Western favorite, Boulder Falls. read more

We just drove three and half hours for a reservation we made two months ago. It was for a special Thanksgiving getaway- from -home holiday. We were so excited. We have stayed at this hotel before and we always get the same room which is on the third floor overlooking the river. We specifically asked for that room and we were assured that it was available. We made the reservation and drove almost 4 hours to get here and we were told that whole floor is unavailable due to construction. We explained we had called ahead of time to make this reservation and why were we not informed that the room would not be available And she said again - no you can't stay on that floor, but we gave a bottom floor room available. So ...no apology, no excuse even attempted to explain how this could have happened.... Wow ...really? ... no other hotels available with such late notice over a holiday . So we turned around and drove home. Sad to say we will never stay here again. And I would under no circumstances ever recommend this hotel again to anyone. That is incredibly poor business practice and a very poor reflection on the Best Western chain. read more

The staff is super friendly. They do fresh omelettes with REAL EGGS. Actual fruit and oatmeal. Most American hotels these days provide nothing but extremely processed, diabetic inducing 'breakfasts' with sugary cardboard everything. Eggs are not even real in most cases, but are some chemical concoction out of a plastic bag that is thrown in a microwave. Not here. Thank you! I do wish they would get bread from the excellent local bakery instead of the plastic processed stuff. The rooms are dank, very old, and you hope there is no earthquake whilst staying there. Great location though, but bring earplugs for the bridge noise. read more

I don't think I've ever had the pleasure of staying at a Best Western before, but I might be doing it more often. This hotel is crazy awesome! Check in was quick and easy and the staff are so nice! The room was beautiful! We paid extra for a view and it was amazing. There was a good sized balcony where you can sit out and enjoy the quiet and watch the sunset. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for all of our items. The bathroom was also a great size. The tv worked great and they even had HBO! The wifi was working and the a/c system was great. In the morning, breakfast was awesome! Probably the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. I loved their system and the options were fantastic and there was plenty of food. Overall, this hotel is doing it right. From their customer service to the rooms, this stay is awesome! read more

The good is location and Angelique! She is amazing! Very thoughtful, very courteous and very professional! However, the hotel needs a freshening up just little things like paint, some moss killer and you need to rethink those pillows in the room they're like rocks. The breakfast is fine. You can either have some yogurt or some eggs or sausage. Plenty to eat for breakfast. Tge real gem is Angelique who I assume usually works those late shifts. We were sitting in the front breakfast room in the evening, having a couple glasses of wine and she still kept checking on us to see if we were doing OK. She didn't have to do that but she did without being invasive asking if we needed anything, etc. She's very much a visionary and she had some wonderful thoughts about this property. I hope the management listens to her. read more

Overall great stay here! The staff were so friendly and welcoming and super helpful! Turning into the parking lot is a little weird...it's a sharp turn and once you're in, it's hard to tell if it's supposed to be one-way traffic btwn the two entrances...but it all worked out ok lol. They've updated their breakfast procedures and now you get a menu to choose from of hot food finally yay! So much better than the cold grab-and-go Covid options ugh! We had eggs and potatoes and sausage and pancakes to take up to the room!! It was awesome! Our room was large and spotless and even had a wet bar sink area with the coffee maker so that was lovely! It had a fridge and microwave. The bathroom sink area had plenty of room for toiletries but the shower was lacking in surfaces for soaps and such. The patio had comfortable seating, was clean and had a killer view of the river and of Florence and the nice bridge! Was great at night too! Their pool was open with reservations but we were too tired to swim so I can't speak to the pool area. My only complaint is that our room was down some sets of stairs and there didn't seem to be any elevators? So that was weird. Otherwise, a great stay! read more

I don't stay at Best Westerns often, but this one all around impressed me compared to my brand expectations. The room was huge & comfortable, well maintained with nice finishes; the staff knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. My status (obtained via match) was recognised and rewarded without me asking. Hotels have understandably modified breakfast options due to COVID, and it'd be easy to cut the hot options, but I appreciated that this one still offers decent egg sandwiches (along with a bag-o-carbs). The only downside is the cash prices seem slightly high compared to independent options in town. read more

We are Best Western regulars and are rarely disappointed. Maybe one out of ten properties turn out to be a "clinker" but typically our stays over the years have been fine. But every one out of ten times we'll check into a BW property that really surpasses expectations. This was such a property. Great staff. Check-in went without problems. We are Diamond Select customers. I don't think we got a complimentary room upgrade but the room they gave us was just fine. No complaints at all! Everything worked. Great view of the bridge and old town harbor. Great restaurant! See separate review on that. The breakfast was amazing! They had everything! Including the best oatmeal I have ever tasted. The usual scrambled eggs, sausage, baked good, bagels and so on. Very good coffee! And they have a fellow making omelettes. Not the typical omelettes that you occasionally find in hotels for breakfast... these omelettes were fantastic. I had a salmon and capers omelette that was really, really good. That alone assures that we will return again. The breakfast area which is apart from the bistro has the same great views. Most of the Yelp reviews for this location are 4-5 stars and well deserved based on our experience. As for the handful of poor reviews, I don't know what these reviewers are talking about. Great view from rooms of the water and bridge. Room had a balcony as well which would be great on a nice day to relax and watch the water. Room was clean. Had a little bit of an issue with the toilet. Also none of the plugs on the lamps were compatible with our phone chargers and there were no usb ports so we had to huntdown a wall outlet in the room to charge our phones. The room was fairly small and the foot of the bed was what greeted you right when entering the room. There was a substantial breakfast selection which would give lots of choices to all types of appetites. It is an acceptable place to stay but the frustration with the plugs got the best of us. read more

This place may have been better if it were not for covid. I say this because I got here just as the fog was coming in off of the ocean and the temp outside was dropping fast. I check into my room and there is no A/C, this was because I had a balcony with sliding door. So to cool the room I had a choice, ceiling fan or open sliding door and hope I don't get a cold. I was concerned during covid getting a cold and having to drive 3000 more miles. So I choose to leave the door shut and just request a second fan. I didn't sleep well. The room wasn't bad, but it did remind me of a camp or something the way you walked to get into the room across a small bridge way. I would stay here again though as it was a nice place and I would like to see what it is like outside of covid and I would be happy to change my review. read more

This is an outstanding Inn with picturesque views of the bay and Old Town Florence across the Siuslaw river from your room and from the breakfast area. Centrally located, but sheltered and secluded. The rooms are situated such that you can back your vehicle near your room entry. The parking is located by a protected alcove leading a very short distance to your room. The staff was competent, friendly, and accommodating. Thank you Melissa, Candy, Celestine, Robert! One more thing.. the breakfast was included and was VERY GOOD; Tim made great omelets. I love this hotel. The views are to die for and the staff is very friendly. Toya (not sure if spelled correctly) must be the nicest employee I've ever encountered. I ran into her a couple of times throughout our stay and she so also pleasant and offered help to anyone she met. We went to Hukilau for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. Fresh fish for sushi and large plates of Hawaiian food. Until now I haven't found a good sushi restaurant anywhere from Newport, Oregon to the California county line. Last time I was here about 5 weeks ago we went to a much fancier restaurant overlooking the water and the views and atmosphere were great but the food was not that memorable. Also the bar was built to high and I could barely see my food. Stay at this Best Western and eat at Hukilau and you will be happy you did! read more

The setting overlooking the river and bridge is beautiful, but I was a little disappointed. Housekeeping only every 3 days. What??? Had I known that, I would have stayed at an Air B&B. Where am I supposed to dispose of my trash? I don't want to leave food containers sitting around the room for 3 days. This should be noted on the reservation website so the customer is fully informed of no housekeeping before they book. It was a very unwelcome surprise at check in. There are lots of stairs everywhere and no elevator, so if you have physical challenges it's not for you. Parking is very convenient and close to rooms, though. read more

Overall, we are very happy. The bed was not the greatest (it was fine on my side, but my husband said his side felt like it was leaning) like it is worn out/due to be replaced. If we weren't both very hot sleepers we could have just slept on one side, but that's not how we roll. I slept well at least :) We are huge fans of hotels that have sofas/seating areas, since we like to read/hang out, and it's not nice to only have the bed to sit on. Nice slider onto a deck overlooking water, and the sunsets and sunrises have been gorgeous - so I'm sitting here in my post breakfast bliss looking out the window at the pastel gorgeousness that are the clouds as the sun rises. It's pretty great! Speaking of breakfast...... hello, hot breakfast bar! We both had made to order omelets (delish!), a biscuit with gravy and sausages, a waffle, yogurts, coffee! There were juices, cereals, milk, etc. The staff had perfect mask etiquette, and we came early to avoid the crowd (opens at 6:30am, we were there before 7am) and the few other patrons were also masking when not seated. This hotel feels like a place where people enjoy their work and take pride in it - which is the best kind of place to visit. Would stay here again without hesitation. read more

Rooms are semi-quiet (walls a bit thin), beds comfortable, some dryer sheet smell on the bedding. Wifi excellent. Included breakfast is top notch, with made to order omelettes, eggs, oatmeal, waffles, fruit, cereals. The price was very reasonable off season. Will definitely be back. Staff friendly and efficient. I booked a last-minute room, and was a bit worried what I would find. The rates were a bit higher than other places in Florence, and I hoped that would turn into value. I was pleasantly surprised - the room was clean and updated, bed was comfortable, and the floors are actually non-carpeted (which reads to me as MUCH cleaner). They are pet-friendly, but also offer hypoallergenic rooms - initially I was booked into a hypoallergenic room, but since I had a pet they moved me to a different room. Breakfast is included, but in times of COVID, it's a bagged breakfast with a hot sandwich (veg option yay!), mini cinnamon rolls, an apple and a granola bar. Not healthy - but included with the room rate. I look forward to coming back in the future and seeing the dining as it's supposed to be. Highly recommend - it does seem worth the price. read more

We had seen this hotel, while previously visiting the town, and this time we decided to stay overnight. We got a large room, on the fourth floor, overlooking the river and Old Town Florence. The room was quiet and the bed was comfy. To our surprise this is one of the few hotels that still serve hot food for breakfast during Covid-19. They give you a choice if four breakfast s that they serve to you and you take back to your room. I want to give you a five I really do my son and I had a great experience. I must say that the customer service the people working there and the breakfasts are incredible. Please keep up the quality of your personnel and your breakfast as they are right now they are absolutely wonderful people and absolutely wonderful food. Please do not change that. I've been to many hotels and cannot handle eating their breakfast. Your breakfast was amazing, we had sausage biscuits and gravy. That tasted really good. What seemed like fresh orange juice and apple juice toast? Hot oatmeal available bagels available fresh made omelettes made anyway you want available hot waffles made fresh you make them fresh yourself amazingly awesome and tasty so many good things the room was wonderful and spacious. However, there was hot chocolate spilled on the couch that looked kind of nasty before we arrived , the bathroom in the main bedroom had some loose tiles on the wall and a loose threshold when you walk in through the door to the bathroom this is in room 451 if anybody wants to make note but I like this room a lot laying on the bed in the front room which is the couch that unfolds you can see everybody eating breakfast from your bed laying down in your bed if your curtains happen to be open, so make sure you don't do that Also in the bedroom, the laminate flooring had some pieces that were separating and catching on my socks and ripping my socks look like some maintenance needs to be done at this place. Also, the corners of the bathroom had pink mold and calcium buildup on the faucet plus there is body wash plenty of shampoo plenty of conditioner, but body wash empty container. You would think these things get checked , the only other thing I'd say would be too maybe have a bigger TV in the bedroom and the living room after all your hotel is quite excellent. I think the TVs need to be a little bit bigger but like I said, I want to give you guys a five please do some maintenance on 451 and I'll give you a five like I said the staff and the breakfast was absolutely incredible. It look like you used to have pre-Covid a restaurant open. If you could please open that up. We would all very much appreciate that. It looks amazing in your hotel. Please keep it up. This is a nice, quaint hotel on the 101 highway in Florence, OR. This hotel has both river view rooms and non view rooms. Do yourself a favor and don't book the non view rooms, these rooms are located on the bottom floor and has a claustrophobic feel and has small windows when compared with the airy, updated river view rooms. The hotel offers a generous, complimentary breakfast, complete with an eggs to order station where you can have various omelettes made or eggs cooked how you want them. Also, the view from the breakfast room is excellent! The staff here is courteous and accommodating, Always willing to help, although I don't think they're a fan of upgrading you even when the hotel is almost empty. FORTUNATELY, we showed up a couple hours before check in, and they were able to give us a comparable room. We had a beautiful view. The staff was WONDERFUL! They were ALL VERY NICE! Very helpful too. We were given suggestions for restaurants, both lunch and dinner. They took time to tell us must see places in and around Florence. Our room was clean/comfortable/ enjoyable. The FREE BREAKFAST the next day was above and beyond continental. They made fresh omelettes, fresh waffles, also had french toast, scramble eggs and sausage! I hate it when bad hotel rooms happen to good people. Now I know that I can't have the same expectations at a Best Western as I do at a Westin or Hyatt or boutique hotel, so my frame of reference in this case is Holiday Inn Express. I should also note that after some pretty serious searching and applying a AAA discounted rate, I still ended up paying what I believe is one of the higher rates for a room in the area, since I reserved a suite. So for the amount that I spent, I have certain expectations, like being able to sleep in the room. First some good things: -- BW has a beautiful view of Florence and the bridge across the Siuslaw River. -- The staff was nice and I thought tried to help us have a better experience once I raised issues, but I felt that their hands were tied by the physical condition of the hotel. -- Cookies at the check-in counter. -- Indoor swimming pool and spa. Now on the issues: The hotel is located on Highway 101 on a bit of a hill. Now for those with hotel rooms on the backside of the property (facing the river), it would probably be fine. Our suite appeared to be practically the only one facing the front of the hotel, next to the lobby, with all bedroom windows facing the highway. So all night long we got to hear people arrive and leave as well as all the noise as cars and big rigs chugged up the hill. I tried to change our room the first night, but they were sold out and my only option was a standard room, which in hindsight, I probably should have done. I checked out one of those rooms and it would be fine for a couple. It actually seemed spacious and furniture, etc. seemed nicer than the suite. Our room on the second night was on a lower level and we had no noise issues. But it still felt more like a budget accommodation than a nice hotel. If you don't require a kitchen or sleeper sofa, stick to the standard room. Breakfast is included and they do have a Belgian waffle maker, a few cereals, juice and bagels very similar to Holiday Inn Express. The breakfast room and the pool a few floors below had beautiful views. When we arrived on Friday night the casino across the way even put on a fireworks show which we could see from the hotel. So while the location is scenic, it isn't centrally located so you have to drive everywhere. Next time I'd try to stay somewhere closer to Old Town so I could walk to the shops and restaurants. When I was in the lobby talking to the staff, several other people came up to complain about various issues so I know I wasn't alone with my displeasure. It also made me feel bad for the staff, since some people like to treat people in customer service positions like dirt which is really sad. They have a tough job. If I had the second room for both nights, this rating would be a three. But for the honor of giving me one of the worst rooms I've ever had, I have to award a two. This was reaffirmed by my stay at another coastal hotel for less money, that was fantastic. So if you stay here, standard room, river view, low expectations. read more

Well kids, what we've got ourselves here is a case of corporate greed at it's finest. For a whopping $322.77 I got the worst room in the entire place. I knew online when I purchased it that it was the last room available. What I wasn't expecting is the rate to be so high because it was the very last room. I thought it was because it was one of the best and no one has reserved it because of the price. I was put in room 538. In the second building. Down 3 flights of stairs. The view out of my room is a staircase. The room is really tiny and has a toilet that runs for a solid 3 minutes after it slowly flushes. Wallpaper peeling off in the bathroom, Shower head that's clogged so water sprays out in all different directions. No balcony, no sliding glass door, no privacy if I leave the window open. This room is absolutely no where NEAR being worth the money I paid for it. This is a $90 room at best. The hotel very much advertises as river front. And most of the rooms are. But apparently weather you're staying in a nice room or a crappy one that's a maze to get to. They're going to charge you top dollar for it. Total ripoff, that takes advantage of tourists needing a place to stay. read more

This was our second stay at Pier Point and I would still rave about the location. High above the river with a view of the bridge and with trees all around, the only thing taking away from all that beauty is its proximity to the highway. This BW is a bit like being in a cabin of sorts but not as rustic. Unfortunately I have to report that this visit wasn't as impressive as the last. After we settled into the room I noticed all bits of things on the carpet. Someone has eaten their lunch and simply swept the crumbs down beside the bed. The bed sheets all looked good and smelled clean and the bathroom looked great, but I couldn't really get that icky floor out of mind. I guess I should have said something right away but I didn't want to make a fuss. I felt I should mention it to one of the employees the next morning at least, and all he said was: "Okay thanks I'll talk to the girls about it". I don't know what I expected him to say or do, but that just felt like too casual a response. We had a good experience with the front desk staff. They are always so helpful! Shelby is a volunteer firefighter and is red cross certified. She helped bandage up the big guy after he lost a fight with a windshield wiper blade :-o read more

We had the king bed with couch. It was very spacious but most of all view over the river. We drove a short distance to old town which was right over the bridge.
