My experience post "meet and greet" was extremely disappointing. I thought I gave an accurate description of my skills and even catered my resume to specific roles, but the recruiter (who seemed nice and personable) failed in proactively submitting me to roles LinkedIn would even say "matched my profile." Huh?! I felt like I had to actively argue and bombard the recruiter with emails (which isn't normally my style) to prove my worth! Then when I expressed my disappointment and inquired if my resume was even read, because there seemed to be a disconnect, the emails went silent. Good luck with this agency, I doubt they understand what digital marketing/strategy entails, because when you list those skills out in your resume under respected, major companies, they somehow can't connect the two. I cannot rant and rave enough about my experience thus far with Vaco and specifically working with Ashley Wilkinson. After being in the HR and recruiting space myself, I am well aware of how "typical" agencies can go. You get a call from a recruiter, who is "impressed" by your resume and who may submit you for a role, or you may never hear from them again. But, my experience with Ashley was far from that. It's been exactly 13 days since i have heard back from my recruiter JESSICA CUTRER ( Vaco National Accounts Program Recruiter) . I will get her 2 stars because she was professional and prompt and was nice. She offered me a position which i got super excited about. She made it sound like i was the super ideal candidate. She made me sign this contract via email, which lead me to think that i was really a good suit candidate for the position. I asked her where the exact location of the job was and she told me that she will get back to me, but never did. I don't really mind if i do not get the job, but be courteous and considerate and if you promise to call someone back regarding information they requested, you should reply to them. Recruiters should also notify job applicants if the position has been filled or if they if we were not the right fit for the position. I was referred to Vaco by a friend and was impressed with my visit and with the types of positions that were sent my way. It came down to me and one other candidate for a position and I never heard from my recruiter. I had to follow up and felt like I was bugging her. Then after saying her hands were tied, I found out she went on vacation. I don't mind her taking a vacation, but if you're going to be out of the country, you should probably let your clients know and tell them who to contact if you need anything. I just found out that I didn't get the position today. That's fine, but I will not be using Vaco for my next search. read more
