The front desk staff and dental hygienists are all incredibly friendly and professional, and I've especially appreciated how easy it is to keep my insurance updated with them and the clear communication they've had about billing. Dr. Afkham does the work himself! He does the cleanings and pays close attention to what he finds. A couple of appointments ago, he found a cavity (my first ever--I was really nervous about it!) and explained the cost of treating it right there and had me treated and out in half an hour. He is incredibly calm and competent, which makes getting dental care much less intimidating than it would be otherwise. Dr. Afkham is the dentist I recommend to all of my friends!

So, HE ASSAULTED ME AND THEN CHEATED TO THE POLICE. I visited the clinic for an exam regarding wisdom tooth extraction March 27th. Based on prior communication, I was under the impression that the visit was a preparatory step for the extraction. However, I was informed during the visit that the extraction could not be performed there and was referred elsewhere. A misunderstanding arose from the clinic's initial communication, which I believed to be misleading. Upon addressing this with the front desk, a disagreement ensued. Dr. Afham intervened, and the situation escalated. Dr. Afham forcefully instructed me to leave, resulting in him physically grabbing my arm and pushing me all the way out of the office, causing my phone to fall and further adding to my distress. I immediately contacted the police to report the incident. However, Dr. Afham provided a conflicting account, stating he merely "opened the door" for me, which led to the police being unable to take further action. This experience was not only humiliating but raised serious concerns about the professional conduct at Davis Smile Center. It is particularly disheartening given my history as a loyal patient over the past three years. I am considering filing grievances with relevant professional and regulatory bodies, including the Delta Dental Program, the Dental Board of California, and the Better Business Bureau, to seek redress and ensure such conduct is appropriately addressed. I appreciate any help that could help to resolve this issue satisfactorily. I had never been to this Dentist before, but the entire signing up process was so easy and quick! I was able to get x-rays done as well as my crown cemented back in. The Doctor who worked with me was very professional and honest about the previous work that had been done on my tooth as well as advice for moving forward. I…read morehad to have my first ever filling performed by Dr. Meinert a few weeks ago and it turns out I do NOT handle dental work well. Both Dr. Meinert and the hygienist were beyond patient with me as I worked to breathe through the procedure, allowed me to take several breaks when needed, and never once made me feel like a burden for slowing things down. Mind you, this was a completely pain free, routine procedure. I really am unsure why my body responded so dramatically. This did not bother them, they were professional, compassionate, and gentle from start to finish. I couldn't have asked for better care. THEN the receptionist team. My goodness. I had already been delighted by their friendly demeanor when I checked in and waited in the waiting room, but after seeing me a little visibly shaken as I was exiting the dentist office they REACHED OUT AND DIGITALLY SENT ME A STARBUCKS GIFT CARD and wished me well. I can not get over the level of generosity and care I have now felt from this entire team. I find it difficult to find that perfect balance between exceptional health care while still maintaining the family-friendly office feel. I went there and it was a long first appointment with them trying really hard to have my start braces. I was not amused. They also charged me for something that they said was covered. I actually tried to make another appointment and they were booked 6 months out but then would continually call and email me to get me to make an appointment. I was fed up and found Southport Dentistry. The initial appointment went smoothly and didn't take forever. Dr. Dang advised me to purchase an electric toothbrush but didn't push me to purchase one at his office which was nice. The star in my opinion was the dental hygienist that did two of my cleanings. She was very thorough, gave me honest advice, and was very approachable. All the staff I have interacted with was very good and nice. I have a strict no texting policy and they would just call and leave a vm for me. Plenty of parking. There are some weekdays where they care closed and they are closed for long stretch of time during the holidays. Overall, even with my harsh work schedule I was able to book appointments.

She went outside of the location and claimed to me about how they would terminate my wife from their system due to bad behavior when the only thing she was asking for was some timely attention due to the .edi action that I need to take before any medicinee. She claims to own the place and issued an immediate denial after one visit with an issue. The lady even came out and spoke to me saying that my wife was being a badmouth. I responded to her telling her about how I never heard her act out bwfotet, she just had a loud voice. She told us to "Go home, your medication will expire in 12 hours. You can come back on another day" she also told my wife that I had a loud voice and she told her how she was disrespecting her. She makes us feel like we am lower than her in some fashion. It sounds like she is being racist. I love my dentist. We often laugh together. My dentist also appologized to my wife for this issue. We have beem highly regarded at any other locations. This is the first time we have ever had an issue here. She was just trying to take her medication on time and get her appointment started in a proper amount of time. The medication that she takes is called Amoxicillin 500 MG capsule. She needs to take 4 of these capsules before antibiotics procedure and was given only one set of 4 capsules by her doctor anytime she requested it beforehand. The "manager lady shrugged her off like I meant nothing as well. We have been at this location for around 12 years and never had any issue until now. One other issue is the fact that she said that they may have to cut her as a warning only once, then she was immediately kicked out and labeled as a bad patient by this woman only and given a dismissal letter via mail. My dentist even apologized to me profusely for her anger. You have a good dentist here but a crazy Karen manager.

Dr. Calayag has been very friendly and very skilled. She could see exactly what was wrong and what I needed and took the time to explain each step of a thought out dental plan. I am very-very happy I choose Lincoln dental. It is so nice to find a real dental office that is not one of the big dental chairstore operations. So far -- 5 STARS!
