Vail has its fair share of sport equipment rental shops but Vail Sports is conveniently located at…read morethe Lionshead Village entrance. For the summer months, visitors can rent a bike for any terrain. I wanted to see what the hype was about, so decided to try an e-bike. The bike was a very clean, class one e-bike suitable for biking/walking paths. The Bosch e-bike system was easy to use and allowed for quick change riding mode (manual, sport, turbo, etc) and being able to switch on the fly was a huge advantage when it came to riding the steep hills (going up both ways.....lol). The rental process is quick (especially since Epic Mountain has my profile) and the staff was really helpful, giving me a quick rundown on how to operate the bike. Rental rates are by half day (4 hours) or full day. Take note that folks can save 20% when reserving online versus in-store. The pricing is a little more expensive than if I had rented an e-bike thru our hotel, but Vail Sports has better maintained equipment. Rental prices do include a helmet and each bike has its own handlebar bag. I was able to ride thru the town, in the residential area and up/down Gore Creek Trail. The latter is a safe option when going between East and West Vail and does provide beautiful scenery. Upon returning the bike, the staff was also very friendly in answering my questions, helping me to decide whether or not I am going to invest in a purchase. I must say the pedal assist on some hills was a fantastic bonus to my ride. This was a great "touring" experience while visiting Vail and with the friendly and very knowledgeable staff, I would definitely recommend Vail Sports for all season equipment rental!

Brought in a new pair of Head Vector LTD ski boots and was referred to this shop for some help…read moresetting the cant adjustment on the boots. What I got this morning was an explanation about what I needed to do - custom foot beds, yada, yada, yada and then we could talk about cant. I think his explained items added up to $500. Oh - and they would shave the boot to address any cant issue. But alas, the cant guy is gone for the season, but we could do the foot beds now and fix the cant in the fall. Now why would you shave a boot without trying to get the cant set with the built in cant adjustment the boot already has? Because we can soak you for $500, that's why. I knew more about cant from a night of online research than this guy did. Pathetic.

While this facility may be just fine if you're in the market for new boots, this is absolutely NOT…read morethe place to visit if you are currently own boots that need adjustment. While these people sound like experts, and know how to bullshit you very expertly, all they know how to do is sell new boots. They have no idea how to adjust your current boots to make them fit more properly. Don't waste your time or money by visiting this place. If your boots need adjustment to fit better, or to relieve focal points of pain, visit a shop around the corner where they have over 40 years of experience doing just those adjustments. Bottom line: Do not visit this shop unless you're going to purchase new boots. Be prepared to spend a lot of money.
