They thoroughly investigated the cause of the strange noise I could hear whenever I braked in my car and the staff explained thoroughly what tests they were carrying out, even taking the vehicle on a test drive to investigate more thoroughly. Although they could not repair my vehicle as it was a problem that had to be corrected by a Chevrolet specialist, they gave me their card and said if I had problems explaining the problem at the Chevrolet garage to get them to call their branch for a thorough explanation. They charged me nothing although they had worked on my vehicle for over an hour. While I was there I watched them carry out quick and effective repairs on another man's car and changing tyres rapidly. I couldnt recommend them more heartily.

It meant I couldn't even drive this car until I fix it and come back for a retest - not earlier then over one week later, they said. After that I`ve checked it at home with my friend and there was absolutely no signs of worn bushes - just a little bit of corrosion. Then I risked to do an MOT in a different garage - they confirmed my observations and this time the MOT result was ''PASSED". My conclusion is - if you don`t want unexpected problems with an MOT, just don`t use the online voucher codes, because they`ll try to find stupid things to be fixed, which could cost you hundreds of pounds.

Being impressed, I booked my vehicle in for new discs and pads and an oil and filter change for the following week. I took the vehicle in, I called back three hours later as arranged. The car was ready, job all done perfectly and Rab cleaning around the engine (just to tidy it up - pride in the job ) I found his price to be very reasonable too. I'm pleased that Rab has moved to better workshops closer to me. I would be more than happy to recommend him to anyone for vehicle, tow bar or trailer repairs or servicing. My family and myself will certainly keep using him for all our vehicles.

Are they more expensive than an independent? Probably. But for peace of mind, I will never go anywhere else. And since what the independent did could have resulted in injury or worse, peace of mind is a lot more important than money! Having said that, the people at Trowbridge Platinum Renault are helpful and polite, and if there's any other bits that need doing while they're servicing the car, they will ask first, rather than tell you about it afterwards. When we lived in London we went to the best independent Fiat garage in the whole world (Franco Motors in Houslow). But since moving to the west, and buying a Renault, I have discovered that not every independent is as honest and thorough as Franco's! You pays your money and you takes your choice - and I choose safety!
