We would walk in and he would start grinning with excitement to be with the caretakers. They took great care of our child and kept us informed of the progress of our baby. We can't thank Winwood enough for bringing joy to our growing boy and of course so sad when we moved away. Thank you Winwood and the infant care team, our little man will miss you.

I don't understand why this place has great reviews? I guess they are all old. I have not had good…read moreexperiences here. We ended up leaving but the amount of tuition they charge (and it keeps increasing every few months) is crazy for what we're getting. pot holes in the parking lot go unfixed, their signage on the awning got taken down (both did) now its a blank space that looks like something should be there. The inside has not great lighting and wall colors, it looks kind of dim/depressing, instead of bright and clean. I don't know where all this tuition money is going. It could use a facelift and better playground. The school aged kids room has 2 men as the sole providers and I asked if there were ever female assistants or helpers in there and was pretty much told " i know there's a stigma against male daycare teachers." Ok?? sorry males are responsible for 75-90% of the crimes I'm worried about. And Males constitute the majority of "offending" child care providers/babysitters reported to the police (77%) So I don't think that was a ridiculous question or even something ridiculous to be concerned about. And her lack of concern towards MY concerns was unsettling. We also had multiple incidents with my preschooler, one she told me the teacher grabbed her face because she wouldn't wash her hands, and it hurt. They didn't really do anything about it except, apparently, ask the teacher if she did that and she said no. Ok....Why would a 3 year old make up something so random? The preschool teacher also had a loud bell she would ring to get the kids to pay attention which my 3 year old was scared of and she had sensory issues with loud sounds after that started happening, she would freak out at any loud sound and it didn't stop until after we pulled her out. Another incident in the preschool classroom was that they were trying to get all the kids to be quiet and so they told them that here's a monster out in the hallway of the school and if they don't be quiet the monster will come in. So naturally, my 3 year old told me about this, very scared, and was scared of monster in the school and at home, especially at bed time, for awhile. Again, told the front desk, I don't think anything was done about it. My 3 year old went here for a year. She cried almost every day at drop off. She hated going there. I thought it would ease up eventually but it never did. My school ager liked the kids but that was about it. One of the school aged teachers even apparently sat there and told the kids he doesn't like them and what he doesn't like about each one, and some kids cried. I'm just glad I'm out of this money suck. It is not up to the standards that the local competition has, and shouldn't be charging the same tuition as the local competition. I would not recommend this place.

The owners, staff members, and teachers are amazing and I love the tadpoles app where they post pictures and videos of her throughout the day to keep me connected. I can ask her about specific activities she did to help start a discussion about her day! The daily report is also incredibly detailed and they have a thorough curriculum which they follow. She just missed the county's cut off to start kindergarten this Fall but I believe she is kindergarten ready because of this school! She will attend their kindergarten program instead. The quality of the work I have seen from kids in that class is far above and beyond what I have seen in a typical kindergarten classroom. I did a lot of research before I selected this school for her and we could not be happier with our choice!

The staff are also great - they always go above and beyond what my expectations and they never make me feel like a hassle. I had my reservations about a bigger "daycare" type of center and preferred home daycares; however, this Goddard School makes me feel like our daughter gets the best of both environments. The most important factor for us is that our daughter has really come out of her shell and developed confidence socially, academically and emotionally. This is by far, the greatest outcome for us.

Big mistake! We had the benefit of dropping her off and picking up at times not when all things were "dressed up" to cover the chaos and unprofessionalism. It goes like this: 1) the two owners, Ann Chu (Korean origin) and Anna Corley are young women that never had children or degrees in child development or Education. Anna Corley managed to graduate from the #1 party school in Florida. Miss Chu finishes a degree in Arts. See their biographies on their site and think about it hard before even going for interview with that establishment. 2) their website boasts Spanish as the second language. Wrong - it is the first language, because they hire Spanish-speaking workers (because they are cheap) and in fact many of them cannot speak ANY English. I am sure you can use sign language to communicate with them if you want. 3) their main child care giver was a pathologist (hopefully not for dead people) prior to joining their outfit from Puerto Rico. Want to read more? 4) our daughter's bruises were unexplained (of course, every child gets bruises). Mis Chu will convince you that it is normal (with a smile on her face). She thinks she is a doctor, forgot to tell you. 5) our daughter's water bottle always came nice and full every day. Children don't need to drink water if they don't want to. Again - talk to Miss Chu. She will tell you everything you need to know about your child. 6) 17 days sick in 5 weeks. That is our daughters track record. 4 doctor visits to treat our daughters infections and viruses acquired from children that should have never been admitted in the first place. But who cares, right? The key is for Miss Chu to have the cash flow coming in. 7) The Ivy Preparatoty School is a big statement. I call this whole rig a bunch of false advertising. Not sure how they got the state license to run the child car facility. Classic example of check the box application. Anyways, folks, do your research. We wish we did...

Our daughter has a strong immune system and travelled and lived with us in Europe, Mexico, and all over the US and has been around many people . The ivy owners (who never had children of their own or any education related to child development) did not show any compassion or understanding and kept the deposit $1,362 and annual supplies fees of nearly $500 because they need to "run their business" and fund their material aspirations. Also, bruises and bumps on our daughter were never explained. Ann Chu, the owner, always replied that she does not know where our child got them clearly demonstrating the place is either short handed or simply does not have time to pay attention to your kid. Besides multiple throat, sinus, and ear infections our child (a long with a few more kids) suffered from a severe unstoppable diarrhea the day we pulled her out of this nightmare. This was the last present from the ivy school. It took over a month to restore the health of our little one. She lost sleep and and cried for one month after we left the Ivy school. I am a psychologist with 10+ years of experience. Please consider my review before putting your precious child in the hands of these charlatans.

Being used to the eclectic and energetic vibes of city life, we had inhibitions in how she would take to attending such a small and quiet school. Along with her previous classmates and guides, she was used to walking the streets of Brooklyn, taking the ferry to Manhattan, and walking to various public parks. When we arrived to see Guidepost Montessori at Fairfax, we were struck by its quaintness. The children have their own play area in the back of the schoolhouse, surrounded by a picket fence. It is intimate, yet spacious enough for all of the children to enjoy. The school is very clean and organized. The classrooms are set up in typical Montessori fashion, with the added charm of displayed artwork made by the pupils. The faculty takes the time to decorate for the seasons and holidays. The most charming and wonderful aspect of this school is the faculty. From the Head of School, the Administrative Director, to the Lead Guides, Assistant Guides and After School guides, everyone is kind, caring, patient and gentle, and respectful. They immediately treated our family as one of their own. They are the reason our daughter loves going to school each day. She has flourished under their care and guidance and we cannot thank them enough.
