Amenities include a large shade covered playground, a beach for swimming and fishing, and six individual picnic pavilions with tables and a grill named for some of the wildlife that makes its home here like herons, dolphins, and manatees. Rotary Park at Suntree is a stop on the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail, a network of more than 500 premier wildlife viewing sites across the state. There is also a large pavilion with a capacity for 150 people with restrooms and barbecue pits, and a 140 foot fishing pier. This park is the ideal destination for play, fishing, and small and large gatherings. The view of the Indian River is gorgeous from anywhere in the park and if you are lucky you may be able to spot a dolphin swimming by. Rotary Park at Suntree is administered to by the Rotary Club of Rockledge. Rotary was started by Paul Harris, a Chicago attorney who formed the Rotary Club of Chicago on February 23, 1905 so professionals with different backgrounds could exchange ideas and form lifelong friendships. Not knowing what the park had to offer, I would have walked into one of them just to get my bearings and to see the over layout of the park. I made my way to the Pavillion, passing a playground. The Pavillion was completely empty and led to the fishing pier. The grounds were very interesting with the unique rock formations and waves crashing along the shore. I saw a manatee, which was totally unexpected but a welcome surprise. Squirrels and birds so used to human interaction stood only a couple feet of me at times. It was like something out of a classic Disney film. Overall, it was a nice visit. I enjoyed my solitude and the beauty of nature surrounding it.

This park had a lot of people fishing as well so it has a few spots where fishing is safe and allowed. The pier is currently closed as they working on it. We had horrible weather that cut our trip short, and the fish just started biting right when it was time to leave, but I do not hold that against them as they can't control nature. We did catch our limit of kings, couple Atlantic sharpnose sharks, and three remora. Lost two kings. We went out with Captian Zach on the Under Fire. He was a cool dude who found us some big fish and kept us out longer than all the other captains due to the rough seas and incoming weather. I'd definitely fish with him again. For anyone wondering how to fly their fish home, it's pretty easy. Publix down here sells dry ice for about $1.50/lbs. You can have a max of 5.5lbs of dry ice in your checked luggage, no "water" ice allowed. Buy a $7 styrofoam cooler from the marina, put your fish in it with the dry ice on top, fill with bubble wrap so it doesn't move, tape the cooler shut and then wrap with bubble wrap, pop a "vent hole" through the bubble wrap and cooler, then throw it in a box and tape it shut, and put a note on the box that says "Contains Dry Ice" and TSA will let you check it with any airline. I looked and looked for a business that would vacuum seal our fish and freeze it, and pack it for us to fly home and I couldn't find one. Captain Zach was happy to fillet our fish for us which was awesome and convenient. I'd have paid extra if Fired Up would buy a company vacuum sealer and let the captains seal it up in two pound portions hint hint ;-) Fish keeps so much longer in vacuum bags not that this is gonna last very long as we will eat it fast. We will definitely be back for more fishing in the future.

The roadside trail has older oak trees. Both loops go around a trail. The trail is posted no trespassing in neighborhood or nature preserve so stay on the trail. Beware of golf carts on the trail. It's good for bikes and skates, too. The play areas feature bridges, mini hills and culverts. A swing set is near the lake. Their are covered benches. We spotted a kingfisher, Mallard ducks, a Snowy Egret, an Osprey with a fish, and palm warblers.

In December 2007, the wetlands were renamed the Ritch Grissom Memorial Wetlands in honor of Ritch Grissom, a longtime Brevard County employee who worked at the adjacent South Central Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility. I spotted numerous ospreys, red-winged blackbirds, an alligator, and even a raccoon on the move that I followed for a while. If you enjoy nature and wildlife off the beaten path you can easily spend hours here. It seems like it's a man-made Park with Wells constantly feeling lakes and pumps pumping water from one lake to the next lake. There are areas we can ride your bike for bike riding/mountain bike trails and lots of walking trails as well as there's docks you can walk out and look out on benches you can sit on and a few towers you can go up to get a bird's eye view. For wildlife I saw lots of different species of birds and a lot of alligators. These alligators did not seem friendly like the ones at gatorland. I also saw a lot of bunny rabbits and the rabbits were used to people unless you're pretty close to that.
