We started looking at 55+ communities over 2 years ago, and decided upon Del Sol. So many of the…read morecommunities were so large that we felt we would be just a number. With less than 600 homes, it would be certain we would get to meet lots of people and get involved in many events. This is the second time we have down-sized and we are thrilled with our choice, As we grow older, our home will never be too much for us to take care of, and located on a pond, we get to enjoy a variety of wildlife. Due to COVID, our Clubhouse was delayed in opening, but it was certainly worth the wait. It is beautiful and has state of the art amenities inside. Our pool area is beautiful and the tennis and Pickleball courts are perfect for our needs. The Cafe has had some growing pains, but we are confident they will work out the kinks and be able to provide us a great place for meals. Construction here has been non-stop and we all hope we reach capacity soon so that we can enjoy our community in peace and quiet.

The Quality of the home, their product, is top notch. But the wait time, was horrible! 19 Months for our home to be completed! Even with all that time taken to complete, there were things that needed fixing before closing, and there were a lot! Their quality control is not maintained throughout which is why they have this long "punch list" of things to correct before final walk through. Even then, you'll be submitting things to be fixed through their warranty app. I would say a lack of clarity, follow through & communication are the brands biggest challenges. It's difficult to get in contact with certain people during the construction process, and they usually don't get back to you in a timely manner. We love our new home & the neighbors who bought in & live here. But it took GL Homes too long to complete our dream home & it was/is frustrating holding them accountable to executing things documented in our final walkthrough. The Warranty Dept. is Horrible to deal with during your 1 year warranty. Somethings like kitchen cabinets are taking us up to 8 months after moving in to be taken care of!
