Our deck was renovated by Mayan Construction 2 years ago, and we recently noticed that there was…read moresome fungus growing under the deck and the siding next to the deck was starting to crack. We've had multiple different contractors come out to take a look at what could be the problem and all of them have identified that the deck was incorrectly connected to our house by Mayan, and the water proofing is flawed. This has lead to moisture entering the interior of the wall around the deck which is the cause of the fungal growth and the cracking of the siding (dry rot). This past week I called Mayan looking to remedy the situation, and they agreed to come to our home at 11am on Thursday to look at the damage. They ended up not showing up and when I followed up with them to reschedule, they were suddenly non-responsive. Given that the siding of our house is continuing to develop more damage the longer we wait to get this fixed, the lack of communication from Mayan is incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. I would avoid working with them.

Jesus and a crew of 4-5 men spent about 8 hours in my yard and they were FAST! They tore out the neighbor's Ivy that is always threatening to take over our yard. They pruned the neighbors huge bush that is more of a tree that hangs over half our backyard and drops red berries all over and in our jacuzzi. They pruned my Chinese elm tree that was partially hanging on the roof. And they cut a swath through every part of the yard, pruning and pulling out dandelions and other weeds that proliferated there. I believe they hauled away 2 dump truck loads of yard waste! Even my old gardener was thrilled with how it looked and moving forward, Jesus's crew is now coming every 2 weeks to keep our yard in tiptop shape. I should have made this decision 2 years ago! It's hard to know as you get older when to hire people to do what you are used to doing yourself. The reaction from all our neighbors is clear. Jesus and his crew were the right decision.
