The campgrounds are well maintained, roads are gravel and each permanent trailer spot has a good size plot of land. You feel comfortable enough to spread out a little and enjoy. As a community people are friendly and there are lots of families and the sounds of laughter and general good mood. The facilities include a splash pad that is extremely impressive, a heated pool, a playground, a natural pond, a hot tub, a picnic pavilion, a general store, a volleyball court, a basketball court, horseshoe pits, an outdoor chapel, walking trails, activity rooms and children's activities on the weekends. Proximity to Toronto can't be beaten. This is the closest park to the city with access to major highways within minutes. 50 amp service is reliable. Drive-through spots are quite long but drives are shared between 2 campsites. My impression is that it's a touch overpriced but that premium is for the location. Hiking trails and the conservation area are a treat for the DW and the dogs. I'll be back for sure as it's close to friends and family.

Website is very hard to figure out what the rules are for dogs. One page says dogs are super welcome other page says no way are dogs allowed. So have to wait and call the next day. Turns out the kid answering the phone says that basically you cant bring dogs on a day trip but if your camping it's ok. Most Family's have a dog and they should be allowed to come for the day as well as long as the dog is friendly as stated. You could have an area inclusive of pets. Super disappointing for our family and guess we spend our time somewhere else. Cant give any stars to an establishment that wont allow family's to bring all their family members, puppies should count.

We went there to look at the autumn colours and it was so beautiful. We walked the Buffalo Crag trail, which was a 3KM trail, and the Vista Adventure trail, which was a 1.5KM trail. Both were very peaceful. We'll be going again!

I visited the Rockwood Conservation with the Toyota funded GRCA annual pass made available and free…read moreat the library. This conservation is roughly $7 at admission, but free for a vehicle full if you have the annual pass. The hiking trail features trees and trekked paths near the water over the glacial deposits. You can even walk by the water. The access for boat is very easy to get to, there is a parking lot nearby. The boating looks fun as there are mini lagoon like areas and even caves to explore, reminds me of a lagoon theme park. By the way for the non hikers there is a putting green at the entrance, price is for adult and child but there are leaves and debris and it's full sun. Definitely worth checking out. The GRCA charges for admission because it is not funded by tax payers.

As you know, COVID19 is here and has shut down pretty much everything! Although businesses are now open under strict rules, campground washrooms are off limits - even though campsites are permitted to open for business. The "new normal" is very different from what we were used to before! This year, we lucked in and found a trailer at an affordable price, so we can bring our own washroom with us! This was the 3rd campsite we have tried, and the biggest one of all so far (as well as the most expensive), although it obviously has no beach or waterfront anywhere near it. However, what they miss in the way of waterfront, they make up for in other ways: a full golf course; mini-putt; a petting zoo (some animals were absent because of COVID) (and you're not allowed to pet or feed the animals right now because of COVID); 4 pools of varying sizes; a bouncy jumping thing (not a castle); volley ball courts and tennis courts; and about 650 campsites. The place is massive! They have many many very impressive seasonal rentals, which have beautiful gardens. Downside: there is very patchy / non-existent internet available out there, although you can pay a fee for access once you're inside the park and registered. In fact, internet was so bad as we were approaching the site that we got lost on the way there! Good thing someone was still there to answer our call for help and guidance! As it was, we just made it under the wire with five minutes to spare. Another downer was the price; this place is double in price than the other 2 we stayed in previously. Spots were spacious enough. It was very busy and crowded when we were there; obviously the locals love it here. It's very popular.
