When I told the bakery and showed them the photo of the cake in their display, the other bakery gal said come back in 15 minutes. Sure enough, the cake was ready and perfect: squared three layer chocolate cake with raspberry topping. Thank you Safeway bakery department for making the perfect cake.

The young lady who works there have a very bad attitude as she is always grumpy. I have to stand and wait 5-10 minutes sometime to get a service as employees are busy with doing stuff in the backroom. Most of the time ingredients are not there. One day they didn't have cucumber and the lady had to go to produce section to pick a cucumber and come. Another day they didn't have my choice of meet which is pastrami and I had to go with roast beef even though it is not my choice. Even today, they didn't have pastrami and the employee had to go inside and bring it. There were no pickle at all today. Service is very poor at this deli. I am a big fan of Safeway sandwiches and I often go to Antioch and Oakley stores. The employees are in those stores are super friendly and the their delis are very clean and organize. I guess I have to pick up my sandwich from Antioch or Oakley before get to work in Discovery Bay.

Michael's Market is like a convenience store (c-store), but it's loaded with beer, wine and tobacco items. It has a fountain area and wide variety of snacks and candy. For awhile it was the only neighborhood shop around. But now the Discovery Bay shopping center is right next door. Yes, I saw the Confederate flag. But the clerk was friendly and helpful. I was wearing my work uniform w/ ID. People with jobs usually have money to spend. Michael's Market is a well stocked c-store that can save you a trip down the road to the Safeway shopping center. Shell gas prices were about average for the SF Bay Area. Located on the corner of Discovery Bay Blvd & Riverlake Rd.

I have come by a few times in the past 2 months and have never even been greeted with a "hello" at the counter. Did they all get a frontal lobotomy? Or are they just that afraid of women? If I were Michael I would find anyone with any personality immediately instead of letting these rejects be the "welcoming" face of your store. They make me feel like a complete burden at best. She had to ring me up after and I can tell she was embarrassed. I don't know why she made me go to the machine and then makes a rude comment but was so quick to take an older lady at her register. Maybe next time don't force people to go to a machine and assume they will pay with card.

I'm guessing this gas station & food mart has been here longer than that new shopping center down the road. It has lots of room for parking and getting around the single gas island. The island has only 3 pumps, and 1 was out of order. The food mart was very organized and the clerk was nice. I asked if I had to wear a mask inside, and the clerk said no. I guess everyone got their Covid shots, because no one was wearing a mask. Oh well, I'm not the mask police. Nice location, prices are a little high. But that's the price of convenience.

An entire full-fledged room, y'all. I was struck by the size, the inventory, and the force of the frost emanating from that beverage blockade. I'm sure living nearby is nice and convenient, because they seem to boast a lot of fare standard gas stations just can't be expected to stock (probably due to a lack of space... This isn't the typical awkward shoebox of a space gas station clerks occupy.) In short, this is one BIG OL' gas station market.
