I'm guessing this gas station & food mart has been here longer than that new shopping center down the road. It has lots of room for parking and getting around the single gas island. The island has only 3 pumps, and 1 was out of order. The food mart was very organized and the clerk was nice. I asked if I had to wear a mask inside, and the clerk said no. I guess everyone got their Covid shots, because no one was wearing a mask. Oh well, I'm not the mask police. Nice location, prices are a little high. But that's the price of convenience.

When I told the bakery and showed them the photo of the cake in their display, the other bakery gal said come back in 15 minutes. I have to stand and wait 5-10 minutes sometime to get a service as employees are busy with doing stuff in the backroom. Most of the time ingredients are not there. One day they didn't have cucumber and the lady had to go to produce section to pick a cucumber and come. Another day they didn't have my choice of meet which is pastrami and I had to go with roast beef even though it is not my choice. Even today, they didn't have pastrami and the employee had to go inside and bring it. There were no pickle at all today. Service is very poor at this deli. I am a big fan of Safeway sandwiches and I often go to Antioch and Oakley stores. The employees are in those stores are super friendly and the their delis are very clean and organize. I guess I have to pick up my sandwich from Antioch or Oakley before get to work in Discovery Bay.
