*I could not find an actual business name for the auto repair shop (We have a card and I think it's SEV Star) attached to this gas station, so I am writing this review here in hopes other people find it! We were traveling from Palm Desert when our "old reliable" started bucking. We had a good 6 hours ahead of us to get back to the Bay Area but the car had a different notion. We were just able to get to this auto repair shop when our ride gave out. Now, this was my fiance's car and we were not hoping to replace it until after our wedding, however, again, the car had a different idea. I am someone who feels comfortable in auto repair shops. I have had many lemons through the years and came to generally know my way around a car engine (though no expert of course). Vahan Markarian, who was one of the main mechanics, took excellent care of us. He and his team were honest, earnest, and competent. Though they had a good load of other vehicles to work on, they were able to get to ours timely. As it turned out, our car was not moving anywhere and after 16 years, it was obviously time to say goodbye. The shop and Markarian completely refunded the parts and labor that they hoped would fix it, only charging us for the diagnostic test. He was even kind enough to take a moment from his schedule and drive us a good few miles down the road to a rental car place. If I lived in the area, I would go back here and I recommend anyone looking for a good mechanic to do so. They allowed us to house our vehicle for free for two days while we figured out our next step. This might be because we did have extenuating circumstances, as most places do charge. Still, this was great service, despite that we did finally decide on letting the car go. Also, doesn't hurt to wait it out at the In-n-Out across the street, (though the cashier even offered us tea while we sat and waited). Five stars for sure. read more
