Gas went all over the side of my car and the ground - a huge explosion hazard! The whole business is ridiculously run down: 3 out of 4 pumps had the "Valero" sign falling down; 2 out of 3 urinals were out of commission and the third was disgusting; one bathroom stall was taped shut with duct tape; the drink coolers were not working; etc. I can't believe an owner would allow their store to be run this poorly.

The parking lot is beat up with large pot holes all over and there were many people loitering outside on a Monday evening. Inside, there were many options for food, but that was about the only positive thing to note. The men's restroom was in very poor shape, as it was dirty and trashed with a foul smell. It needed some serious attention. I don't think I'll be stopping here again.

On July 31, 2026, the women's restroom was not that clean and missing paper towels. Then I went back through town a few days later on August 3 and it was much cleaner and was well-stocked with everything. I had issues with the same Valero pump two different visits, but that will be in a different review. This is a nice large Allsup's. Their employees were not engaging with walk-in customers including me, but with each other instead.

There's plenty of trucker services from showers to qas and parking that were adequate for the truckers and for vehicles.

The clerk named Destiny checked the ticket, received the payout stub and the exchange ticket that should have been returned to me. She took several minutes reading the slips that were output. So I am certain she was aware of each ticket's purpose. I asked her if there was confusion about what was output. She very rudely answered "No," she then proceeded to give me my $20 winnings but not the lottery exchange ticket (which for me was most valuable). When I ask where was my exchange ticket, she walked over, grabbed it and slammed it down on the counter with an attitude. SHE DEFINITELY INTENDED TO KEEP IT!

Had it not been for this little gas station in Hartley, we would have been stranded at 5am with the closest gas station more than 30 minutes away in one direction, MUCH further the other. I could have made the reservation a day + out and people would be parked there. I've seen driver's be told to move, they drive through the parking lot, and then park back in those spots. Or those rude driver's ask the driver's with reserve spots to move. If that doesn't work they physically break into your rig and move your tractor and trailer.
