(This is a review for takeout.) To start: INCREDIBLE. I popped in soon after they opened before getting back on my roadtrip & was greeted immediately by a very kind & friendly woman at the front. When I asked her for a burrito recommendation, she pointed me to the Expreso Burrito, quoted me 8 minutes, & if she wasn't right on the money for both the recommendation & the timing! (Burrito also came with a tasty red salsa & a sizeable bag of chips, which tasted like they were made-in-house.) The burrito was so good, I saved half of it for later because I didn't want it to end: fresh guacamole, a perfect red sauce, & fresh tomato & onion; the rice was perfectly seasoned & the pork--where to even start? I didn't even have to take a bite before I was drooling because it smelled so good. (Even as I'm eating the leftovers, the meat is still so tender, juicy, & flavorful!) Seriously on par with the quality of my favorite spots in Los Angeles. Interior is sparkling clean & gorgeous (flamboyant, carved wood chairs; a stunning metal man to greet you at the door, bright decor, & beautiful woodwork throughout the restaurant). I witnessed the staff working efficiently and professionally to help all of their patrons while keeping the atmosphere friendly & fun. Seemed like a great atmosphere to have a few margaritas with friends or for a first date. Not sure if I'll ever end up passing through Guymon again, but I hope I do so I can pop in & try something else off their stacked menu! Overpriced food for the quality and quantity. Expect to pay about $15-25 per plate. Plus an additional price for your drink. Chips and salsa are provided for free. Chips & salsa are good. Alcoholic beverages are also an option. Full bar if you'd like to sit in the bar area. Scenery is nicely decorated. Service is good. Parking lot is usually not an issue. Food overall is aggressively mediocre. Large selection of dishes to choose from. read more

Sad to see a local mainstay deteriorating as quickly as Vallarta's . The wait staff was better than average. Salsa was very runny. Beef fajitas were all onion . Very little bell pepper and the beef was cut in tiny pieces that were so over cooked one could barely chew. The bench seat cushion was split with the stuffing exposed. Drinks were expensive with very little alcohol. read more

Been in Guymon for a few months now and this has become our favorite place to eat. You can't go wrong with anything you order here. Food and service are always great. Good solid Tex Mex dinner! Nice thin chips on the table with two fresh salsas, fast service. Food came quickly and plenty of it! My wife and I were taking the 'southern route' from Wisconsin to Carmel, California to dodge winter weather. Found Vallarta's and couldn't have been more impressed with the food, the service, and the hospitality. Two salsas are available for your chips - both superb. For our main course, we had two dishes that were simply DELICIOUS! One was Camarones Mojo de Ajo - - a shrimp, mushrooms, and garlic sauce recipe that knocked my wife's socks off. I was blown away by our server, Carlos' recommendation of Camerones Diabla - - 10 large shrimp covered with a spicy sauce and served with rice, beans, and your choice of tortillas. Went there for lunch. We were the 3rd table of customers for the day. I had the Expresso Burrito... fantastic! Chips and salsa was delicious. Everything was wonderful except for the service. We only went here because their Yelp rating was 4.5. No way this a 4.5 restaurant. The restaurant was very warm inside which was uncomfortable. There was no music playing and the televisions said no network connection. The chicken tortilla soup was very bland and the taquito appetizer is not an appetizer portion at all. It's huge and enough for 2 people to eat for dinner. They were definitely not "small". The soft tacos are corn tortillas which we love but the meat they put on these tortillas has too much liquid so the tortilla just disintegrates and completely falls apart. They serve the tacos with one unripe sliced tomato with core included! (pictured). Cheese dip came out luke warm at best and the salsa is thin, runny and boring. read more

Doing my public service and making sure this place no longer has a top rating. Just like most everything in Guymon, it's mediocre at best. The food was bland overall. My margarita was also pretty boring and lifeless. It was also garnished with a half brown lime. Some of the most boring salsa I've ever had. The atmosphere was also lifeless and dull. No music playing. Too warm and stuffy. Anyway, I would try another restaurant before going here. read more

Second visit in two days. First impression is that the place is impeccably clean! The margaritas are very good and inexpensive, even when ordered with top shelf tequila. Last night I had the Pork Green Chili dinner. The green chili sauce was spicier then what I get back home in Eastern OK, so I know there is more in there than just tomatillos. Likely some jalepenos in there. That is how it's done up Denver way. The pork was tender and flavorful. Que Rico! I just ordered tonight's dinner, so I can't make any remarks on that except to say that I have high expectations! read more

Sometimes it's difficult to find good food late at night in small towns, but Vallarta came through. There seem to be a lot of Mexican restaurants in Guymon, but Vallarta turned out to be a great choice. Always on the lookout for something I've never tried, I ordered a unique appetizer dip of chopped mushrooms and other vegetables. It was a bit spicy, a bit vinegary, and delicious! Portions were enormous! I couldn't make it through the "tres amigos" combo of chile colorado, chile verde, and chile relleno. The chili verde won the plate, the chile relleno was good, but the chile colorado was only okay. My sister had the nachos and said they were excellent. The decor is fun, the chips warm, and the service great! read more

Very good food. I had the Camarones a la Ranchero and enjoyed evert bite. Handsome Husband had the Chile Verde. Seldom do I feel he made the better choice but this time, sigh, his dinner was devine! Odd little bar though. The bar stools were so very tall, I seriously has to use the rungs on the chair as a ladder. All in all, delightful place. Well worth the stop. Ample variety of choices. I had the Santa Fe chicken which was very tasty. My husband's fav Mex dish is chili verde which he ordered here. He said it was excellent. Stale chips, liquidy salsa and just average service. Nothing remarkable or good about this place. We stopped here while staying overnight in town. Initially we thought it would be good but we were mistaken. The queso dip was also bland and not worth the money. Finally, the bathroom wasn't so clean and there were no paper towels. What a wonderful surprise we had when we stopped for lunch on our three-day drive from Minnesota to Arizona! The restaurant was almost full when we pulled in (and that's generally a good sign!) Food was decent but the service was crap, we were told we couldn't turn the tv on because our "party" wasn't big enough, the waitress rolled her eyes at us when asked for a different hot sauce. We stayed the night in Guymon and happened to stop here for dinner. We had chicken and beef fajitas and they were both amazing. The portions were huge!
