I had the distinct pleasure of visiting a little jewel of a winery in West Texas today...Valle della Pace!!! I arrived hungry and they offered me 5 different options of Italian style pizza in keeping with their Italian style wines. It was larger than a flatbread and smaller than a typical Napolitano pie and it was rectangular versus circular and I polished the whole thing off while tasting through 4 of their delightful and unique wines. I started with the owner's suggestion of Blondie, their Blanc du Noir. What you immediately notice is the balance of acidity and fruit in this very affordable wine, as are all of their wines. I then tasted their Albariño, a bottle I'm taking home on the plane back to the Napa Valley. Next the owner's Son, Josh, suggested the RAM Shiraz which reminded me a bit of a California Pinot due to the color but wasn't as dry or fruit forward as Pinots often are. I finished with their Cabernet Sauvigon -Whiskey Barrel. Talk about a Cab you never tasted before. There was a hint of Whiskey on the nose and more than a hint of Whiskey on the palate...the barrel definitely infused its personality into the wine. Finally I had to have their Cheescake and as you can see in the pic it was drizzled in chocolate. That's Dr Don, the Owner posing with dessert. Way off half typical beaten path this tasting room is a refreshing site for oenophiles. A nice small tasting room with friendly people serving and teaching you about their wines. Their wines are average at best, but you have to give them an "A" for effort. If you're in the area, I'd suggest stopping by just to get a flavor of wine from this part of Texas. However, I wouldn't make a special trip because you'll be disappointed. I suggest trying their reds over their whites. read more

A very darling place! I am accustomed to Pacific Northwest and the vast winery's! Never did I imagine I would find a little gem like this in East Texas! This is a lovely winery. One of the owners greeted us as we drove in as we were staying here as a part of Harvest Hosts. We enjoyed a wine tasting and actually bought a bottle of Peaches wine. It was very refreshing and makes me think of those lazy summer days ahead. They had several dry reds we enjoyed as well as a few whites.We decided to try the pizza. It was scrumptious. We almost wanted to order a 2nd but decided to get a double chocolate cheesecake and a turtle cheesecake. I wasn't half finished with my turtle cheesecake when I glanced over and my husband had demolished his. . We definitely recommend a stop here. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with the winemaker and the tasting room staff. It's easy to see their passion for their wine and in giving their customers a memorable experience. I was excited to see how they are still developing their viticultural and vinicultural practices--still learning, still experimenting, but already producing the best wine I've had in this part of the state. I'm usually a red wine drinker, but I highly recommend the Blanc du Bois they call "Blondie." As a side note, I also learned of a group called Mercy Ships while speaking to the people here. Also based out of Lindale, TX, this is an admirable group that provides medical services in countries where the services are sorely lacking. Buy some wine from Valle della Pace, and then donate to Mercy Ships! read more

Came to Dallas for my birthday and wanted to experience a vineyard/winery. My girlfriend found this place on google and I'm so glad she did. We tasted every last wine they had and bought 2. Bethany was amazing and knew a lot about each one. Her brother took us on the tour and showed us how they make there wine and there labels. Outside he let us walk around the vineyard by ourselves it was lovely. Can't wait to go back. read more

I like all the wines they sell... the Blondie and Vino Rosso are my favorites. The owners are extremely knowledgeable about the entire wine making process. You may drive past this place as the sign is not positioned so You can see it well. Owner was very nice. Don't take this as a negative; they take their time explaining their operations, wines, etc. before pouring your tasting. So don't think you can stop in and quickly drink your tasting. The blondie wine was nice, as well as the Pinot Grigio. I loved the Sangiovese, fruity smell, smooth taste. Miscoto is far too sweet for me. My mom enjoyed it. The tasting area is quite small. Only 6 ppl can comfortably stand at bar w/out personal space being invaded. Luckily, we were two of four there. read more

Cute little place with outdoor seating, and it is dog friendly! The wine is good and the staff is so accommodating and knowledgeable. The Mora is delightful! Definitely a crowd pleaser. Went to enjoy a wine tasting because the reviews seemed good. I had 6 girlfriends with me and no one offered to help us or serve us. We ordered flights (which were on the menu) and were told they weren't available. It was obvious we were not going to get waited on so we left. This place has some of the best wine I have ever had!! All their wines are wonderful. The owner and his family are amazing people and make it a warm and inviting place. It appears the wines are under the radar of most reviews, as mentioned in by previous reviewer Pinot Grigio was good, I dare say, on par of any I've ever tasted, maybe even the best.
