Really cute experience outside of Dallas! We went for the blueberry picking (get there early or you'll have trouble finding berries to pick like we did and not as hot!) Managed to forage for about a pound of berries after an hour. They have a cute store as well where they sell baked goods, jams, honey and blueberry lemonade (so good after all the picking you just did!) They also sell 4 varieties of blueberry plants and blackberry to take home. They recommend coming in the fall for the plants so they grow!

My family has come to Blueberry Hill Farm for several years and it's always a treat! There are tons of blueberry bushes and the picking is a great experience. The farmers market is cute and we love getting the little jars of jelly and other fun handmade items. We tried the blueberry lemonade this last time and it was delicious! Berry picking is a fantastic summer family fun excursion and Blueberry Hills is a great spot for it!

Picked our own blueberries today and purchased items from the store. Everything was fabulous to include the onsite indulgences. The blueberry ice cream, blueberry lemonade, and blueberry muffins were perfect. Thanks for such a great visit.

Me and my family had a great time! The inside is such a cute little shop with the BEST fresh pastries. They have a wide variety of jams and preserves to choose from. You can get pre-picked blueberries or pick your own from the fields. The bushes in the back are very well kept and make for a very easy picking experience. We will be coming back!

Blueberry Hill Farms is a local farm and market outside of Edom, TX that opens up its fields during the summer months for blue berry picking. It's a great place to go to pick fresh blueberries and also shop at their country store, which happens to sell some amazing pies & more. If you're looking for a fun day trip to spend in the sun and enjoy some blueberry treats, Blueberry Hill Farms is a great destination. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Located a little off I20 in Edom, you'll find Blueberry Hill Farms. It's a true farm, with red barn buildings, make shift dirt/gravel parking, and rows and rows of blueberry bushes as far as your eyes can see. Also, there are plenty of outdoor picnic tables under the natural shade from trees. If you're lucky, you might even catch the smell of a freshly baked blueberry pie from inside the country store. It's relaxing, laid back, and family friendly. 1 Star. Service - Grab a pail and make your way out to the fields. It's best to go deep because the bushes closest to the farm house will have been picked through. There are water stations in the middle of the fields to keep you hydrated, and once you have your bounty you take them into the store to have them weighed and sorted. The staff and friendly, helpful, and will even sell you a huge bag of blueberries that have been professionally picked. 1 Star. Food - Sure, blueberry picking is fun. But let's be clear here. It's also work. At the end of a hard day of work (or 45 minutes in the field), it's nice to know you can reward yourself with some delightful blueberry treats. At Blueberry Hill Farms, you can order blueberry lemonade & blueberry ice cream (soft serve) to cool you off). But the true stars are the pastries. This may be a farm, but they make THE BEST blueberry pie I have ever eaten. The crust is so flaky, buttery, and golden delicious. The blueberries are perfectly plump and combined with the crust they create harmony. I liked this pie better than the all the pies I've sampled at Emporium Pies in Dallas/McKinney! They also have tremendous pastries that are perfect when served lightly toasted with coffee. And of course, we used our fresh blueberries as afternoon snacks, baked into muffins, breads, and pancakes. Who knew the blueberry was so versatile? 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. We've made a trip to Blueberry Hill Farms about once a year for the past three years. It's now a trip we look forward to since we get to experience the blueberry in so many ways. If you live in North or East Texas, Blueberry Hill Farms is a great day trip. 1 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Food - I'll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the food. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score.

Drove out to Edom (Ben Wheeler if you want to be technical) to pick my own blueberries yesterday. My intention was to be there at 7am when they opened to avoid the heat. Actual arrival time was 9:30, and by 11am it was 98 degrees. I was giving myself a verbal lashing for not getting up earlier...it would have made the experience more enjoyable! Picking blueberries can be a fun experience if you have a good conversationalist to work beside. There were lots of families picking when we were there. I used to pick blueberries with my father when I was a child, and it is one of my fond childhood memories. Things to keep in mind when you go: -wear comfy shoes...you will be working in sand and there are ants so enclosed shoes are the way to go -wear a hat, lather yourself with sunscreen, and bring a bottled water -wear a belt so you can attach your basket to the belt and pick with both hands -ask what part of the farm is best for picking...they plant 3 different types of blueberries that ripen at different times in the season, so inquire In a few weeks, blackberries will be ready to pick. There were some pre-picked blackberries available so I just picked some up $36 for 24 pints. I can't imagine going out there to pick again when it is even hotter! Blueberries were $7 for a small basket of pick your own or $14 for a large basket. MUCH cheaper than the farmers market! We picked a large and a small, so we've got enough for the year! There are also jams, preserves, salsas, BBQ sauces, blueberry muffin mixes, etc. available for sale at the farm. I was impressed with their no sugar added selection, so I got a few jars of goodies. They also sell yummy brisket sammies, a variety of turnover pies, homemade pies to go, and AMAZING blueberry lemonade. It is so much fun to get out of the city and pretend you are a farmer for a morning! I highly recommend going out to Blueberry Hill Farms and getting your dirt on!

Fun times for the grandbabies. They loved picking their own berries. The homemade jams are amazing. The staff was very sweet.

But I had a nice time just walking around, looking at the trees. There were a few raspberries to be picked, but you have to really look. I was also told there were blueberries and tomatoes but they weren't evident to me. It's a nice place. The folks were very welcoming.Theres a little area to the side where you can sit in the shade. You're just in the open field and that's it. There's also some plastic cups that they give you to put your flowers and you can pick/cut your own flowers. 12 or $10. Just a caution if you are not sure footed be careful because it's a little unsteady as you're walking from one area to the next. Wear long pants because as you go through the bushes looking for raspberries, it can get a little scratchy around the ankles. And since it's outdoors, it's extremely hot so make sure you wear a hat, sunscreen, and everything else to be comfortable in this type of weather. I would not recommend bringing any pets because the area is not wide open as you're looking at the roses on the above ground beds or looking for the fruits in the bushes. But I do recommend this place during the high season. Easy to locate. Off the main road and there it is. I would recommend calling before going out there. But yeah I'm glad I went and people were coming in looking for peaches.

The store feels like walking into a family reunion with all the homemade goods that grandma brings and wine with relatives. Overall, the store felt warm. Cooper Farms had samples of their fruit wine, jams, and salsa out for those who were intrigued by the interesting flavors, like the peach salsa. My friend tried out the white peach wine and said the wine went down smoothly and had a delicious taste that could be dangerous if you are not counting how many glasses you are having. We ended up buying 3 bottles of wine ($22 but buy 2 or more get them for $20 each), a peach ice cream, and a peach milkshake for the road. Cooper Farms had stands of baked goods like pumpkin pie, pecan pie, peach cobbler, and so much more. The store opens up to multiple tables of snacks when you walk in and a jam/ salsa wall on your right. Food Review: Peach Ice Cream (5/5) I would recommend this to anyone who walks through the doors. I was expecting a sorbet peach but was surprised to taste cinnamon and a nutty flavor in my ice cream. The small portion was enough to keep me full for the rest of our roadtrip back to Houston. Peach Milkshake (5/5) The peach milkshake are for the drivers who can't active scoop and eat ice cream. The milkshake was just a blended version of the ice cream. It was a perfect to-go drink if you wanted to try their ice cream but need to focus on the road. Overall, I would love to come back here with family and have them try the ice cream. Next time, I would like to try out their baked goods. 10/10 would recommend!

Absolutely delicious ice cream for $4? I couldn't be happier. Also decided to grab some other goodies. They had so many soda options. I bought the peach mango salsa because they had some free samples and goodness was it tasty that I had to bring some home for myself! For $7.99 I think that's pretty reasonable. When picking out the fried pie, staff was really nice and helped me picked a pie and she recommended that I microwave the pie to make it a little warm, but it is ready to eat as is. She says she leaves it in her fridge and eats a piece day by day for up to a week! I like eating something a little sweet everyday so I'm going to take her up on that advice for sure cause I know I can't eat that whole pie in one sitting. Haven't tried the other stuff but I look forward to it. Might stop by here again on my Dallas to houston journeys !
