Dr. Rendler is awful. After long waits in dark and dingy patient rooms, he has rushed through every single visit he's ever had with my daughter. On a number of occasions, I have had to inconvenience him with questions. He doesn't like questions, nor will he give you thorough answers. Rush rush rush! Always a rush! Dr. Rendler is also a VERY close talker. I mind this. You may not. I've tolerated his rude demeanor and superiority complex for the past couple of years because a) my daughter didn't seem to mind him, and b) we really didn't go to the doctor all that often, only for the random sick visit or yearly check-up. But recently I had to call the office's 24 hour non-emergency help line because my daughter had a very high fever that I couldn't get down. Around 9pm on a weeknight, I called the 24 hour line and Dr. Rendler was the on-call doctor that night. He was immediately aggravated. In fact, I remember thinking maybe he was just having a bad night. But the way I was talked to and treated on that phone call was completely unwarranted, inappropriate, and abusive. I can stomach close talkers and narcissists, but I draw the line when a doctor makes a frightened parent feel stupid, just because she called with questions and concerns. Dr. Rendler doesn't seem to like his job, or people. read more

We have been with Valle Verde Pediatrics for more than five years. The office staff is kind and professional. The wait time is short; we're always seen within 5-10 minutes of arrival. When you're called back, your child (and parent) is greeted by the warmest nurses, who remember you! They make you feel important. You're not just some patient. When the nurse is finished with the preliminary evaluation, Dr. Rendler comes into the room. He too, greets you with kind words and a big smile. He genuinely likes his job. He listens well and then takes his time to explain what's going on. He possesses a vast amount of experience and knowledge and I trust him. read more

I've been bringing my children to this office for most of their life. I have 4 children oldest will be 30 soon and youngest is 17 and still with this office. Two of my children have mild to moderate developmental delays. My youngest has anxiety and ADHD. This clinic, from billing to front office to the doctors, have gone out of their way to make my kids feel comfortable and stress free while meeting my needs as a parent. I am always in the loop and here my parental concerns and opinions are met when at all possible. No questions or concerns are left unaddressed. They even have a female on staff for those delicate female issues my daughter doesn't want to discuss with a male doctor. They are "only human" however more like superheroes to me. read more

I absolutely love Dr. Tai as my daughter's pediatrician. He is so cordial, he has a calm demeanor, great bedside manners and he is really bright and explains things for us pretty well. Whenever my daughter is sick and I call him, he usually calls back in a timely manner and sometimes does follow up phone calls after that, which I truly appreciate. What I wish would improve however, is their front desk. The main front desk older lady (Susan) is often rude. Sometimes condescending. Also when we're leaving our appointment and request to make our next wellcheck appointment, she often suggests I call them instead. This confuses me, because I am right there at the office and would think making an appointment face to face would be easier. Phone calls in the office to speak to the front desk can be frustrating as well. For example, my usual phone calls would often require waits that range from 7-12 minutes. There were a couple times when I do make non-wellcheck appointments where I felt like I was being passed judgement as a parent and questioned about my medical decisions even though they were not physicians. Not sure if it means anything, but both my husband and I are pharmacists. I don't know if they are short staffed, not happy with their jobs, or feel as if they have the right to treat patients a certain way, but if there was a way I could bypass them and go straight to Dr. Tai I would. Dr. Tai is a wonderful pediatrician and it's unfortunate that the front line of the office, the people you have to get through to see or speak to Dr. Tai, aren't as wonderful. read more

If you have kids and want them to receive great health care, this is the place to go. Dr. Nathan Rendler is fantastic, and the front desk staff is friendly. I like how there is a Well Child and a Sick Child waiting room, so that if your child is just there for a check-up, they won't be sitting in a room with whatever germs are going around at the time. Dr. Rendler is experienced (he was my doctor as a child, and he is now my daughter's pediatrician), and he has a great demeanor around children. I really respect that he doesn't over-prescribe antibiotics, especially since there are so many drug-resistant strains of diseases these days. He really knows his stuff and has helped our family many times. Valle Verde Pediatrics is awesome. Oh, and the nurse (Katie? I hope that's her name) is a total sweetheart and is QUICK when giving immunizations. She's a total pro and will have your kid vaccinated and bandaged in a heartbeat! I trust Valle Verde Pediatrics with my daughter's health, and really, that's the highest compliment you could give a medical establishment. read more

Let me preface this by saying I work in healthcare. Oh boy, where do I begin? It took almost two weeks just to get ahold of someone to make an appointment. I called everyday for 8 days and left messages when I was prompted. Only once did they return my call. Receptionist was great, checked me in fast and was friendly. The nurse was fine too. The doctor, though, was horrid. I think I spent more time waiting for the doctor than actually seeing him. He talked a mile a minute, asking questions but than interrupting me mid-answer to ask another, unrelated question. Constantly talking over me and, worst of all, calling me "sweetie." This was our first time meeting this doctor. I'm not his friend nor a child, do not call me "sweetie." I just moved here from Northern California in June. I had issues getting our insurance to switch counties. Because of that, my son missed his 12 month shots while waiting. The doctor would not let me explain that, despite asking me why he was behind, instead he just lectured me about staying on schedule and how bad it was to get behind. Yes, I know, it's not as if I wanted to wait. I did not have a hospital birth (I worked at one of two hospitals in my county, trust me, you did not want to give birth there) and was swiftly judged for using midwives. On top of it all, the nurse did not wash her hands before giving my son his shots. The doctor merely rinsed his hands in water for five seconds before examining my son. I will be reporting this. I left without a single question answered and feeling so livid, I was almost in tears. I will never return. read more

I had a great experience with this place. Nice staff and doctor. We didn't have to wait all day, and the visit didn't take a long time either. My kids enjoyed their time here minus the finger prick, but no one likes to have their finger pricked. We will be coming here for future visits. read more

The staff and service here are exceptional! My son has been seeing Dr. Rendler for 3 years now and he has always been kind, respectful, attentive and an expert on treating asthmatic patients. As a parent of a young child with asthma, I have learned a lot from Dr. Rendler. He's so great at reassuring you as a parent that you are doing well and I appreciate how he takes the time to explain everything to us. My son loves him and everyone there! Susan the receptionist is lovely, always has a smile on her face and is very welcoming. Kate the nurse is so sweet and gentle, even when giving shots. Getting an appointment is easy and we don't wait long at all. This place is totally there for their patients and their families more than anything else! Dr. Tai is my sons' Pediatrician and he is GREAT! everyone who works there is. The front office staff, MA's and Drs are so nice. They have been around for a very long time, so they have lots of experience and are very friendly and patient with the kids. And one of the best parts is that they have 2 seperate waiting rooms, one for well child visits and the other for sick child. So if your baby is sick you don't have to spread the germs to the other kids and vice versa! read more

This place was a huge disappointment, to say the least. Our time at this practice started off wonderfully. Dr. Rendler came to the hospital to meet the baby and do his first exam and we loved him and his energy. It all went downhill from there. Our son is two months old. Unfortunately, my husband who is an active duty Naval officer, had spent a month and a half out to sea after baby was born and I was unable to enroll my son in a program that handles medical insurance. However, this program allows up to 90 days after birth to enroll your child and they ensure they will pay all covered medical claims up to this point. We received a very rude phone call from the receptionist the day of my son's appointment about said program telling us she had been trying to reach us all day in an annoyed tone of voice (I had no missed calls). First of all, we are not friends. If you had been trying to reach us, realize that one of us is in a naval ship that has zero reception and one of us is a new and tired mom (me *raises hand*). She then tells us how old my son is and how he is still not enrolled in the program. When I told her the program's policy is 90 days, she then tells me that their office policy is 60 days but they'll "make an exception". Ok. Odd. But, fine I guess. I'm annoyed at this point but we leave our house and head to my son's appointment. We arrive to our appointment and wait in the lobby 15 minutes past our appointment time. Ok, they're running a little behind. No big deal. Once we are called back and after our son was weighed and measured, we waited an HOUR before the doctor came into the room. At this point, we are an hour and 15 minutes past our appointment time. I truly believe the nurse didn't chart us correctly and the doctor had no idea we were there, even though we were told something differently. She is very scattered and makes a ton of mistakes with inputting correct height and weight on the computer. Our last visit, she inputted the wrong height and had to remeasure him getting a completely different height the second time around. I always wondered how accurate my son's growth measurements were after each appointment from then on. Also, she asked me every single appointment if I had my son get his Hep B vaccine in the hospital. Why do they not have record of this? I had not only told her yes every visit but this information should have been given to them by the hospital and they should have had it logged into the system. Dr. Rendler comes into the room finally and does his thing. I'm trying to talk to him about my son's rash and he is cutting me off and interrupting me mid sentence, calling me sweetie, and just not truly listening to me. I'm just straight up mad now. He then leaves and while we are waiting for the nurse to come in to administer our son's two month vaccines, I got on the phone to get set up with a new pediatrician. As I'm doing this, I'm staring at broken and bent window blinds realizing how incredibly shabby this place really is. It could definitely use better paint and decor as well because it's pretty drab here. Over a period of three visits, I noticed how disorganized this place really is and how rude some of the people working here truly are. We sadly won't be returning here. read more

I used to like taking my daughter here, but not anymore. I have been here several times, & almost every single time, the front desk staff was really rude. I understand that they get busy with making appointments and dealing with insurance, but professionalism is always something that they need to deliver. A couple of the nurses are nice and the doctors are definitely nice, but I think it's definitely the ladies at the front desk that are impolite and impatient. My daughter had an appointment back in November, and it went well. The eye test they gave her wasn't really a good enough eye test to me. It seemed as though they had her pass, even if she wasn't getting the correct shapes and numbers. I thought that was odd. I decided I wanted to take my daughter to the eye doctor to get her eyes checked. When I spoke with them, they said to go through her pediatrician's office first. When I called this office, they had said that she would be too young to be seen by an eye doctor and it would have to be determined if she needed glasses through the pediatrician. I was told to leave a message for the nurse I believe her name is Kathy or Karen. Of course no one called me back. Then I called about a week or two later to ask about some bumps that were on my daughter's back. I really wanted to take her in, since the flu bug is going around and with the measles outbreak. I wanted to make sure that my daughter was ok. I called and explained, since I was a concerned mother, and all the nurse told me was that she doesn't want my daughter to go in to be seen, because she didn't want my daughter to infect the whole office. Who the heck does that!!!? If the child is sick or has bumps they should be able to go to the doctor. They should never be turned away. The person that I talked to, just advised me to leave a message for Kathy or Karen, that same lady from a few weeks prior. And of course, no one has returned my call and it has been a few weeks now. I don't understand that? I get that they have other patients, & I get that there's worse situations than mine. That is understandable, but to completely ignore a mother who is concerned about her daughter? That is just unethical and completely unprofessional. Very bad bedside manners. I will never be taking my daughter here, to this office ever again. read more

Since the first time I took my baby to this office the front office lady GLORIA was always to disrespectful and rude. She has this habit to always talk over me and her answer is always " no" without her completely knowing what I need or my baby needs . Everytime I went for a visit I had a negative confrontation with her , when I called and she picked up the phone, just every-time I had to speak with her . She's the most unpleasant front office person I have ever came across . She probably thinks she's doing her job good because of the experience she might have in that field but the mOst important thing is how you make the patients feel & every time she just made my good days really bad. I hope she reads this and fixes her attitude and way of approaching people . The reason I decided to write this comment was because of the conversation we just had. She offended me and asked if I couldn't afford to buy my baby formula in the meanest way possible & she really hurt and offended me . She doesn't know a persons situation to make comments like that . Valle Verde Pediatrics is #1!!! Dr. Tai is our daughter's pediatrician, but we've also see both Dr. Agrawal and Dr. Rendler. The entire staff (Veronica, Susan and the rest of the crew) are also great!!! The atmosphere is also very relaxing and clean. If you have the chance of having any of these Dr's as your child's pediatrician, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. Dr. Tai is an amazing pediatrician! Aubrie (his nurse) is wonderful and the front office staff is great. We take our two young children to Dr. Tai and have never been anything but amazed by his bedside manner. The amount of attention and care he has for his patients is remarkable. In times when we have had to take our son to children's urgent care Dr. Tai gets notified and calls to follow up with how he is doing. He is calm and thorough during exams. It's great to feel like more than just another patient. We always feel like the staff genuinely cares for the well being of our children. Aubrie is so kind and encouraging to both our kids and us as parents! I am so glad that we found this office and landed on Dr. Tai! read more

We have lived in Poway for over 20 years and all 3 of my children have been patients of Dr. Rendler's since birth. Dr Rendler is my kind of Dr! He speaks plainly and directly so that I can understand what I need to be concerned about and how to handle any symptoms. He has managed my childrens' asthma, ADHD, broken bones, ear infections & eczema. I feel so fortunate to find this office in my community. The ladies up front are busy but always help me after a brief hold. If my kids are sick they ALWAYS work them in and have been doing it for 20 years. Katie is a nurse that helps us in the office and with referrals. Dr. Rendler's partner Dr. Tai has always stepped up to help my kids if Dr. Rendler is working on an emergency. I feel so fortunate to be able to depend on these wonderful people who care so much about the health of my kids! read more

My kids have been a patient under the wonderful care of Dr. Tai and Dr. Rendler of Valle Verde Pediatrics since they were born. They are very compassionate and patient with children. In addition, I like the office that has separate entrances for well and sick child. A few years ago, my younger son broke has wrist and we went to see Dr. Tai. He was seen pretty quickly and later on got referred to Children's hospital due to the need for hospital care at that time. In subsequent hours and next couple of days, Dr. Tai called us to see how he's doing and how the treatment went. What more can I say about a caring Pediatrician! Finding an experienced and caring pediatrician can be hard and I'm blessed to have found Valle Verde Pediatrics!! read more

This is a great office. I have been worked into the schedule for the same day almost everytime we call when my son is sick. If you have a choice I would see any of the doctors but Dr Rendler himself. I have noticed a few times things that make me think he doesn't really listen or reads charts. I'm sure he is busy but I don't need a lecture unless you have at least read my son's chart. read more

Dr. Tai is our pediatrician and he's great; the nurse is also very nice, but overworked. The atmosphere of the office is also very clean and kid-friendly with a separate entrance and waiting room for sick children. The staff on the other hand can be very nice one day, and then rude and condescending the next visit. It is also hard to get them on the phone. The wait is also very long, at least 45 minutes each visit. I've tried getting there early, or late, it doesn't matter, you will wait at least 30 minutes to see the nurse, then another 15-30 to see the doctor. read more

We started with Valle Verde 8/9/2002, starting with the birth of my first daughter. 15 years later and we are still loyal patients. My children love the doctors and nurses. Dr. Tai, Dr. Rendler and Jen are sweet and very knowledgable and my kids love them all. The nurses and staff are very friendly and helpful. This office is amazingly run and it shows by how fun loving the staff is. Btw, I think 6, maybe 7 of the nurses and office staff have been there the entire 15 years we have. I dread calling them to set up appointments because you're on hold for a long time. The wait time at the office is quite long as well. The front desk people are not the friendliest. The nurses are good but one of them seems overworked and needs a vacation. Dr. Rendler is definitely competent but I wish he would take more time explaining things instead of saying, "I wouldn't worry about it." I am a new mother and didn't really know the process of having a baby and seeing a pediatrician after the birth of my son. These doctors came to the hospital after my birth to check on my baby for what I thought was a standard/necessary visit. They also said I was required to come to their office for his 2 day check up. I was not aware that I would have to pay for his hospital visit or told this upon him coming into the room to check on my baby or else I would have had my own pediatrician come. Two months later I got a bill for his hospital visit. I feel very taken advantage of especially because I just did not know and wasn't told at that time. I feel like they are just trying to pull you into the trap of their office so you continue to go there. Now I know. read more

These doctors are extremely competent & caring. When I was pregnant with my first, we researched & interviewed providers, and we are grateful to have chosen these doctors. Each of my kids has been seen by Dr. Rendler & Dr. Tai over the years. Dr. Rendler and RN Katie are our primary care providers. Katie is amazing... so skilled, knowledgeable, & also super sweet. Dr. Rendler seems to always know the latest research on pediatric issues. He prefers to follow traditional vaccination schedules but was open to my hesitations on vaccines. After hearing his advice, I'd ask him which 2 shots were most important at each age. I typically refused more than 2 shots at a time for my babies & toddlers. Only once I recall he said to me "Please trust me on this" when I had refused a shot. In hindsight, I truly respect him for ensuring my kids got shots (always later than standard guidelines because I insisted), also that he listened & tried to understand my fear of too many vaccines in tiny bodies. read more

Poway's DMV had less wait time 2-1/2 hours for nothing.The receptionist was rude to the other staff members and didn't know how to use their office program. She made us a appointment for a newborn and the doctor was on vacation so it was a complete waist of time and I now we have to find another office that can get us in on short notice. Seems like insurance fraud to book an appointment and bill the insurance company for services you didn't provide. I'd rate it 0 stars if that was allowed. read more

Dr Rendler and his staff are fantastic. We have been going to him for many years and he has helped my son through various illnesses. He helped diagnose a learning problem that the school missed and arranged for treatment that has allowed him to excel.
