I'm still saying clean and well-run, the owner is an honest guy. However..... they recently installed card machines for laundry. The GOOD news is..... you don't need quarters any more, you can use dollar bills or a credit card. The bad news is.... via a very creative math system of discounts and bonuses, it's difficult to predict what your laundry cost will be in order for you to "zero out" your card. Major pain! Further, they charge a dollar deposit for the card, which you get back when you turn the card in. However, the discounts and bonuses are creatively set up to motivate you to keep the card. If you are a frequent user of this place, keep the card. If not, turn the card in and get the leftover money back. Here is my experience: Let's see, $3 per wash, and to use the dryers, it's 25 cents for five minutes. Ok, I have three loads to wash, that is $3 X 3 = $9 so far. I think I can dry these in two loads, so 40 minutes per load at 25 cents per 5 minutes is $2 per dryer load, $2 X 2 = $4, add to the $9, ok, that's $13, I will charge to my credit card. I insert the credit card, do the transaction, OOPS, too late, I forgot about the $1 holdback charge, should have put in $14. Oh well, I guess I will have to cut back on the dryer, maybe I can get both dry for $1.50 per load. But wait! For some reason, I got a 30 cent "bonus" on my three wash loads, so they only cost me $2.70 per load plus some 30 cent "bonus," so now I have $4.90 left on the card, ($13 less ($2.70 X 3) ) but subtract the $1 holdback, and I only have $3.90. Well, that's a little better than I thought, but can't divide 90 cents by 25 cents evenly, so looks like I can spend $3.75 on drying. Now it's time for the dryers. Oh wait, I'm getting some sort of "bonus" on the dryers. Somehow, with only $3.90 left, I was able to do $4 worth of drying (2 loads at 25 cents for 5 minutes X 8 each). Tell me how THAT works! I was able to "zero" the card, yet I had $1 left, the "hold back" dollar. Ok, if all of you are now confused, bottom line is I still paid $13 for laundry yet got a dollar back (because I turned in the card), net $12. The owner explained to me that the "bonuses" are tied to how much money you put on the card. The "bonuses" are merely "funny money." If you don't use all the bonus, you get nothing back if you turn the card in except the hold back dollar and any extra money YOU paid. On the other hand, if you KEEP the card, the bonuses add up. You can put the card in the slot and get an "accounting" of how the money was applied, but you can only read it, you can't print it out. The algorithm for how the funds are applied is so confusing you need to be a math genius to figure it out. Ok, if you are a frequent user, KEEP the card and reuse it. You only pay the $1 holdback charge once and it stays on the card, but the laundry machines won't let you go below the $1 holdback charge. The bonuses will add up. If you are an infrequent user, turn the card in and get your leftover money (but not the leftover bonuses) back. Didn't know you had to be a PhD in Math to do laundry! read more

Clean, well run and friendly helpful people. We stopped on our way out of the National Park. The owner greeted us, explained the payment system and gave us great advice regarding timing of machines etc. We were grateful for his help and for his adherence and explanation of current COVID protocols. Patrons were masked and were asked to wait outside while clothes washed and dried and no folding of clothes inside. Great experience. Highly recommend! read more

I just had an extremely unpleasant situation occur at Valley Cleaners location when I attempted to wash a load of laundry. My husband was unexpectedly called into work the following morning and he didn't have clean work clothes. I took one shirt and one pair of pants in to wash and only wash. The female employee working there was very rude to me while I put my shirt and pants in the washing machine. I went in there at 6:35 pm and there were a handful of other people washing, drying, and folding laundry. The woman working there refused to let me wash the clothes. She tried to tell me the last load needed in by 6:30. I was 5 minutes late. I told her I just wanted to wash them, I didn't need to dry them. The washing machine takes 20 minutes to wash. With all the other people there, I would have been in and out well before everyone else and I explained that to her, but she still refused. The person that owns this place has the laundromat market monopolized in the Aberdeen/Hoquiam area. The only two around are both owned by him. I wasn't given the courtesy to wash 2 articles of clothing when I was 5 minutes late? I understand if I would have came in with several loads to do. I would also understand if I came in and nobody else was there. I understand the woman working there wants to leave after the last customer...but to rudely tell me I should have been there 5 minutes ago instead of just extending good customer service for me? This establishment advertises their hours as open until 8:00 pm, last load in by 6:30 pm. When I drove back by an hour later, it was still open and there was still people in there doing laundry. I would hope that the employees there are able to make case by case judgment calls when it comes to this sort of request...it was only 5 minutes!! I just moved to Aberdeen and I have a washer and dryer being delivered to me on Friday. Fortunately for me, I never have to go back to this stickler-for-policy establishment. At the very least, I would appreciate if the owner would speak to the employees and explain to them what being friendly means and what good customer service looks like. I tried emailing the owner and specifically asked for follow up and I never heard anything back from him. read more

Plenty of machines in different load sizes. The laundromat is clean and easily accessible. The very best part was the customer service assistant who sold us soap and showed us how to use the credit card access to buy a laundry card and load funds (I haven't used a laundromat since they were all coin operated). I had to wash my thick comforter in prep for winter. I have my own machines, but they wouldn't suffice for this. I had no idea what I was doing, but the lovely lady on staff walked me thru everything. The building was clean, nice variety of machines and weekend staff to boot. Traveling and needed to have laundry done. Took my laundry to them and they did all 24 lbs of it for $33.00. That included washing, drying and folding. Could have had it back the same day but didn't need it so fast so picked it up the next day. Everything was folded beautifully and all the smalls (socks, underwear, etc) were contained in a paper wrappers. They also gave me good suggestions of detergent to ask for because I am sensitive to many soaps. Can't recommend them enough! And they were so pleasant and friendly! read more
