Below par customer service. This is a son and father business. The son lacks good customer skills. When I called - I had a pool table in mind that I wanted to buy plus delivery & set up - no low balling. Short version of the conversation was that the son did not like my choice and tried to get me to buy his choice without delivery or supplies for the table- just a table! He wanted to make money without the manual travel/set up. He was very good at making me feel bad about the drive and labor. All in all, this guy needs to learn good customer skills- clients are current / future business and when a client is treated great - they pass the word along. My husband and I went in 2 weeks ago to schedule a time for our pool table to be removed from one section of the our house to another....on the day of the appointment, 2 movers shows up to our house unannounced 4 hours early. When they were told they're early, they left...my Husband gets home from work, waited 20 minutes after the schedule time, no shoes up...he calls the store, was told by Dominic (?) that there was a red line already through the appointment. That means it was already completed..??!!.... My Husband tells them they showed up early and nothing was done, they left... Dominic says he'll call back, he has to call their warehouse...we waited another 25 minutes, no call back...my Husband drove to the store, and Dominic, said he's still waiting for a response back...my Husband, just asked for a refund... This is unprofessional and with no reason to show up early and then do a no show when it's time... they're in organize and no one knows what the other is doing.. we'll take our service somewhere else... read more

Needed a Brunswick pool table set up - Installation of new slate and felt. Steve knew exactly what I needed. He sent two guys to Napa all the way from Lodi to do the work. Logan and Joe were meticulous and professional. Table came out looking and playing great. Can't praise these guys enough. I had contact two other installers before reaching out to Valley Gaming. The other guys just didn't seem to really want the job or were wishy washy about time and cost. Not the guys at Valley Gaming. They gave me specific price details right away and their time estimate for arrival of materials and time of service was dead on. This guy Domingo came out to give me a price to buy an antique pool table. He offered me 500.00. And said he would get it out of there this week. I sold the house and was moving so needed it out ASAP. I never really agreed and my neighbor ended up buying it for 1500.00. I called Domingo to let him know and he basically scolded me for not giving him enough time to STEAL my pool table from me. This company is a bunch of sharks, literally. Maybe next time you're trying to STEAL someone's pool table you shouldn't take so long to get it out of their house. With a price that low you're running a risk that someone else will come along and offer more. Business 101. read more

Valley Gaming is an excellent place for anything home game related... I visited the Thornton Rd location for an electronic dartboard. They matched the price from another company and were very knowledgeable concerning all our questions. A month after I purchased the dartboard, I was having trouble with the digital display. First time visit on this store and already bought a couple of cues, Dom is really nice and knowledgeable about his product, they dont pressure you on buying and just let us test the cues until we found the right one for us. I bought a billiard table that I was not happy with and Stephen worked out a deal to exchange my table and was very professional about it. We ordered a pool table including several pieces of furniture that accompanied it from Costco. It was shipped to Valley gaming in Stockton as they were the contracted installers. They called us when it arrived to set up an install time and date. They were about a week out which was great but we needed more time to get the room ready for it. No problem said Steven, the manager I believe? Once we had a date set the delivery was right on time and went smoothly. Joe and his partner were very efficient and explained what was what and how to take care of everything once completed. The only complaint is I would have liked the option before hand to upgrade the basic felt the table came with, which wasn't mentioned until after it was installed. Too bad, they could have made an easy upsale on this and had an even happier customer. read more

We just talked to Dom as we wanted to order additional accessories, i.e., the Table Tennis Conversion Top that I neglected to order when I ordered the table, the Caddy for the Conversion Top, a couple Junior Cues for teaching our grandsons the right way to play pool, etc. Dom was easy to talk to and had suggestions which we certainly appreciated. i cannot say anymore great things about Valley Gaming other then it is PHENOMENAL, my wife and i were introduced by a friend to a very addictive darts game called "Cricket" and wanted to purchase all the requirements to play the game right. upon entering, the place looked amazing and welcoming inside. i was greeted by a very humble and knowledgeable gentlemen named Dom, his customer service and knowledge was impeccable and i felt valued as all customers should be. he gave me a very wide range of selection and even made recommendations as to what i needed and did not pressure me or my wife to buy anything top of the line but respectably asked what we were looking for if we did in fact have a budget in which he could 100% accommodate. he set my wife and i up with a great board, cricket score board, quality yer affordable darts and even a few wings to give us our own personal touches. I hired Valley Gaming to disassemble my high end billiards table and load it into a POD unit during my move from Northern CA to Southern CA. They showed up very late and tried to tie the major table body to the side of the unit with absolutely no protection even though I provided a dozen furniture pads to them-they left the felt attached to the slate and stacked the 3 sections on top of each other also with absolutely no protection-their work in my opinion was shoddy at best. When the company in Southern CA began to reassemble the table the felt had huge creases in it and grease stains near the side pockets where they removed the bolts. I made 3 attempts to speak with the manager at Valley Gaming - I left a VM message as well as asking an employee to have the manager call me - in addition, I sent a detailed email expressing my issue and received no response. When I finally spoke to Stephen he was immediately extremely rude and as far from customer service oriented as possible. He was very defensive and argumentative and blamed the movers and other billiard company. He refused to assist with the costs incurred to return my table to the condition it was in before his guys disassembled it nor did he apologize for his company's lack of professionalism. I would never do business with Valley Gaming again and will defiantly share my experience and caution everyone I know to avoid hiring them. Dealing with them was a very negative and costly experience! The worst by far that I have ever had. By the way, this is the first negative review I have ever posted. read more
