Pros: -friendly front desk -electronic check in system & Echart avail -Drs we're kind & patient Cons: -not that friendly nurses -electronic check in devices not cleaned & Echart app wouldn't accept me -lab lost a sample -rooms were freezing & no offer of warm blanket (& this with 104 degrees outside...) I would use again, but I'd be cautious & bring all your own sanitizing wipes/face masks etc... as cleaning protocols & basic modern equipment protocols seemed to be lacking (there was a gal in the lobby incessantly coughing- no one asked her to put a mask on... which is basic hygiene long before Covid-19... & of course she was coughing into her hands instead of her elbow... thankfully (as I'm immune compromised) I come as prepared everywhere as I can... but still very uncomfortable & unnecessary experience.) read more

If you like wasting your money and time try out Valley medical. They are generally 15 to 30 minutes late to call you back for your appointment. After making to the exam room prepare yourself for another wait usually another 45 minutes to an hour. Let's say you get lab work or need an x-ray. No worries there they get you in and out but when you they tell you to expect a call back the next day to discuss the results, don't believe them. You wait until you run out of patience then you have to call a couple times, they always have an excuse. So they start a job and are reluctant to finish it because they already have your money. Tri-state is the way to go in the valley but it can be difficult because we are all try to get a spot there. Still waiting for my x-ray and lab results, thanks for nothing Valley medical!!! read more

So far so good! My husband and I have visited Valley Medical Center on a few different occasions for various healthcare needs. I will say the reception staff and nurses, and technicians are excellent at caring for and assisting patients. As far as providers go, the two we have been under care of have been gentle and accommodating. This "one stop" medical center is excellent because we can have lab work, radiology and general checkups all in the same building without having to navigate a large hospital. read more

I have been with Valley Medical Center for 20+ years. I have been a patient in several departments plus the express care department, lab and radiology. In those 20 years, I have received outstanding medical care. It is very convenient to have the lab, x-ray department and mammogram services in one convenient location. The express care on the weekends has been very beneficial when my elderly mother or grandchildren needed off hour help. I would recommend Valley Medical Center for anyone looking to receive quality medical care of all types. The medical professionals are compassionate and careful with my issues. I visited VMC urgent care about 6 weeks ago after falling off a roof, suspecting a broken ankle. I was seen by Todd Carpenter who came into my exam room twice to first order an x-ray and the second time to show me the results. After falling from a roof I would expect some kind of examination: he didn't check any of my joints, my spine or head, nor did he conduct a neurological examination. When he left the exam room after his first time coming in, my wife and I could hear him repeating the conversation I had with him to multiple staff who were all laughing. After all of that, he overcharged me by $200, claiming he provided a "comprehensive" examination rather than the less expensive "problem focused" visit. I was paying with cash, as I don't have insurance, and this is a substantial difference. I was given Heidi Hardin's contact information to lodge a complaint, which I did, but after the first time I spoke with her and she assured me she would get to the bottom of these issues she never returned any of my calls or emails. I have now attempted to contact the CEO seeking resolution and have received no response. Overall I paid $385 for absolutely nothing. I feel like I was wrung out and spit out as fast as they could turn me over. Valley Medical Center is a disgrace to the LC Valley. A week later I went to an orthopedic specialist for $190 and got a full work up with x-rays. I would not return to VMC or any provider associated with Catalyst Medical Group if my life hung in the balance. read more

DO NOT GO TO VALLEY MEDICAL!!!- My experience was the provider on two separate occasions, left me waiting for 45 minutes before she entered the patient room. Once she arrived, she literally spent five minutes with me. She walked out of the room, without telling me we were finished. I sat for another 5-7 minutes before I went out to check when she was returning, only to find out we were finished. I hadn't finished telling her about why I was there! On both visits, I left without my situation being resolved, or without a referral. IMPORTANT- On a more serious note, my mothers provider from Valley Medical ignored my mothers complaint about lower abdominal and bladder pain, for two years. The provider claimed my mother "had no uterus". My mother said, I would've remembered if I had a hysterectomy! When my mother finally got a referral to go to a ob/gyn, they not only found that not only did my mother indeed have a uterus, but it didn't look good. My mother had to have a hysterectomy asap, and that's when they found that my mothers uterus was filled with cancer! Her bladder was fused to her uterus from all the cancer. We're waiting to find out if the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes. The gyn doctor said that the cancer had been growing for a very long time! My mother had cervical cancer 20 years ago, had undergone chemo and radiation treatment, and has been in remission all these years. It seems logical if someone with my mothers medical history, is complaining of pain in the area in which there was cancer, to further investigate for possible cancer cells returning! Do not go to Valley Medical! They do not care about their patients. read more

I had a recent appointment to see the person who can take same day appointments. My doctor had not availability. Once he came in the room he never really looked at me. I was quite ill and he listened to my chest and check ears and throat. From that brief overview I was told I had a virus. He didn't listen to a thing I said. He also told me that since I have had Covid I didn't need to get the vaccine because I had antibodies! I then went to the lab for blood work and the person in the lab shared with me that the vaccine is not safe because it was created too quickly. Both of these bits of info are dead wrong and they are their personal opinions and they should not be sharing that with patients! In the meantime I had to go to Urgent Care where I was properly diagnosed and given a prescription. I heard from no one about the lab results until 7 days after my appointment. The person who called told me that they talked to me on Wednesday and tried to reach me on Friday. Not true. She was very snippy about it. So, even though I like my doctor, I will never ever go back there. I did leave a message for an administrator and did receive a call back a couple of days later. Even though I had left a voicemail for my doctor, the admin had heard nothing about it. I do not trust the care there! read more

Valley Medical Center is not concerned about patient complaints, or satisfaction. They quoted me a price for a service. In the end I will have to pay 250$ that should have been billed to my insurance company in December as stated by their staff. Instead they made me pay 100$ up front in December and then billed my insurace in Jan which will be put to my deductible for the year and I will have to pay out of pocket. I called the billing office and the doctor's staff directly to get this issue resolved and was told that I was wrong. Not that the office staff informed me incorrectly, which they did. No I am sorry for your inconvience. I asked many questions before I ordered the product to prevent this problem. I was assured that they would bill it correctly and that it would be taken care of. I am tired of being treated like I am the problem. The customer service at Valley Medical is terrible. I will be looking for a new provider. It is to bad, because I really like my doctor. I am done getting screwed out of my hard earned money. read more

Valley medical center was an ok place when I moved here 5 years ago. Unfortunately like the Other 2 clinics in the area. They have gone down the inhumane medical route fast. (idaho does not rate high in all reporting sites. Sad) I have to pay up front because of a med. plan I am own. Can't go with a regular ins. com because of the high prem. I went into pick up a prescription and was told (in front of patients etc. that I needed to down for a drug test. I was very embarrassed and upset at the way the staff treated in front of several patients. NEVER, EVER HAVE EVER, taken unprescribed meds, I don't have any convictions except for a deserved traffic ticket (has long been paid) In hindsight, I should have refused the test and suffered the consequences with out the med. (not life threatening med but can't stop at once without possible repercussions. I know one of the "higher ups" and should have reported my experience. Since it as 4 years ago, probably wouldn't do any good and who is going to believe an old average, non college graduate a citizen I thought I had established a good relationship and trust with them but not. (My vet did a background check for a scrpt for my dog, no problem.) I offered to pay for a background check if needed. (they didn't do it as far as I know. I know someone who is in his late 70's, no job preventing health prob)lems that said he had never been tested in the years, he had been going and the MD on staff gave him opioids with out question. I wish I had taken the MD's name but can't get it. The person still works, goes out at on weekend and "parties", and has a questionable reputation and has had jobs that was in a profession that has a bad reput. Yet according to him, he has never had a problem from the MD at Valley med. getting anything AND again has never been drug tested. They are getting a WELL deserved very bad reputation at only caring about money. So sad. We like the area but when we retire will go somewhere that cares about senior. I have had experiences (late husband) with Mayo Clinic, UCLA med and Cleveland clinic. They were far from perfect BUT never, ever had this problem. Employer (the clinics), the patient pays YOU salary! and with so many stores closing, YOU Valley Med. could easily hit financial problems and close. This place is an absolute joke. If you hear the saying, "Valley Medical has to sell x amount of prescriptions before they can go to lunch," they aren't lying. In October I went into Express Care to get medicine for bronchitis, and ear blockage. The doctor (who has made me feel like an inconvenience, burden, and like I was not sick when I actually had a digestive disorder requiring a specialist whom she would not refer me to) said I had ear wax blockage. Two weeks later, still having blockage, I had to go back because I got approximately a week's worth of coffee grounds poured directly on my eyeballs (long story). I had her check my ears again, and because she couldn't give me a prescription for my eyes, said I had swimmer's ear and gave me drops to put in them. After the first incident I had scheduled a visit to a new physician at Clearwater Medical Clinic, and my appointment with her followed the next week post-coffee incident. When she looked in my ears, she stated that I did not have swimmer's ear, but a wax blockage. I will always refer anyone in Lewiston to Clearwater Medical from now on. The nurse practitioner I began seeing to determine what was wrong with my stomach doesn't believe in medicating me into submission; instead she did the few tests she thought were needed to rule out possibilities. After that she realized I was out of her scope of practice and instead of sending me home, she sent me to a specialist. Now I am able to manage what's wrong with my stomach, and instead of enduring what I did at Valley Medical, I know I'll be well taken care of here. read more

My primary seems to lack any real knowledge on how PTSD, or any chronic illness is treated. What is scarrier is she thought I was taking a particular medication for something I never was taking it for. I have had PTSD for many many years. Have been on the same medication for many many years. Am on the lowest dose of this medication has never been raised because I do not abuse it or take it inappropriately. Recently I agreed to try a new medication on the market. It was not a success, it made me feel numb and basically feel nothing. I went for a follow up and told my primary I did not like it or want to take it. I said I would rather go to the health food store. My primary told me how health food store is not controlled by the FDA. Yet had no other ideas. Since she is refusing me the ability to take the medication I had been on for years. Instead saying well my therapist thinks I have a mild form of PTSD in a condescending way to make one think she does not take it seriously. I have complained on this person 2x with no result just worse care. Have asked for her to be taken off as my primary wich was never done. I requested another primary. Never done. My medical record is extensive and complete so the decisions and conclusions of my primary are week at best. Sad to say as Valley Medical Has some really good caring physicians I deal with regularly. read more
