This company is known for billing fraud, they were in a $1 million dollar hole, now a $500k hole do to fraud and money laundering. At 7:30 pm Epic found out that Medicaid would no longer pay for substance abuse treatment for my son . So they told him he needed to leave before midnight, even though he was court ordered to the center. My son had no place to go,but they cared more about thier payment than helping their client. This place is only in it for the money that they can get from the Government instead of truly helping the client. They could have helped him find a place to go or given him 1 day to make arrangements. But instead...gather your shit and get out. We wonder why people relapse! These people are just making money off of people in crisis and do not truly care about helping people overcome thier addictions! read more

I was suffering from postpartum depression and decided to be proactive about it, so I made an appointment with Valley Mental Health. On my first visit, I went in and told the counselor how I was feeling and a little bit about my history. She told me that I wasn't depressed, I was just overweight and that's why I felt bad. She said I needed to get more exercise, sunlight, and lose weight and then I would be cured of my depression. The next day, Child Protective Services showed up on my doorstep, having gotten a report from Valley Mental Health that my son was in danger. CPS investigated but dropped the case as it was clearly untrue. Valley Mental Health will never get my business ever again, and it shouldn't get yours either. Coincidentally, I had been bulimic but was recovered when I went to Valley Mental Health. After hearing that I wasn't depressed, I was just fat, I slipped back into bulimic habits and am still trying to recover from it. read more

Calling in to get an appointments and scheduling is really hard most of the time. The last few times it has taken three days to talk to someone about an appointment. I had an appointment just recently and they said that the nurse practitioner was not their. So I took time off a work for this appointment and was not able to be seen. I am just amazed that they couldn't call me to let me know that no one was going to be in that day. read more

I have worked at Valley Epic and in that time spent there made me realize that the staff at Valley epic know very little about mental health, addictions or mental health drugs. They have Seeking Safety there, it is a good program however none of the staff carry the required certification nor do they show any interests in becoming certified. MRT is another program that is worked there however the program is not run by program rules nor do the staff hold the required certification. Making excuses for their client's, fostering an environment that the clients are allowed to lie about staff, they help keep their clients in their addictions by not allowing them to be responsible for their actions or themselves. Case managers cannot properly assess their clients because they are not trained. The supervisors of the case are not trained either and treat subordinates as if they are ignorant and prejudice against minorities. If you want to remain in your addiction this is the place for you. If you are a case manager just starting in the field, this is not place to learn the trade. read more

Avoid at all costs. Charged me $280 after seeing me only briefly and refusing to help me in any way. I went to the Valley Mental Health office in Park City, Utah. I was referred there by my GP who works for I believe a state-funded clinic in Park City. The reason I was referred there is that I take very low doses of Valium for anxiety issues and my GP told me he would not prescribe that long term and wanted me to see Valley Mental Health about it. It took 2 months for the Valley Mental Health to see me. I finally see them and they made me fill out paperwork for over an hour. Then I finally get to see the "specialist"... she sees me for maybe 15-20 minutes. I tell her that (previously in California) I have been taking Valium for 3 years ever since I had a traumatic injury. She says "Oh we will never prescribe you that, we only prescribe Prozac-type drugs here, you are wasting your time here, I'm sorry we cant help you. goodbye".... Then a couple weeks later I recieve a bill for $280, for this 15 minutes of "counseling" where she refused to help me whatsoever. Another couple things that annoyed me greatly. I feel like they are implying that they are somehow run by the state of Utah. That is not so, they are a private corporation. So I assume they are only in business for profit. Yet I am getting referred to them by a Clinic subsidised by the state of Utah. Second thing. I was forced to fill out pages of paperwork about my "drug and alcohol abuse" of which I have none. I guess they believe that everyone with mental health problem must have substance abuse problems. In that case they need to change the whole name of their business. As someone who does not use illegal drugs I find this an offensive assumption. If I can be getting charged $280 for 15 minutes of pointless discussion, I can only imagine how much they much they must be charging people with serious mental illnesses that must come there 3 times a week for hours at a time. In typical medical practice fashion they give you no advance warning of their rates or even and estimate and if you ask them they will say "i dont know, that is handled by a seperate department", their billing department which is of course a completely seperate company.... to sum up .... -They think its okay to charge you ONE THOUSAND dollars an hour. -Private, for profit business masquerading as some type of state funded "for the people" organization. -Look down upon you and classify you as an addict after walking in the front door. -Their "treatment" consists of high doses of Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft or Wellbutrin. And thats all they do, exept for verbal counseling for drug addicts which god only know how much that costs here I cant believe some idiot in a chair gets paid to sit there and hand out SSRI's all day as if they are candy and say oh, these drugs arent really drugs cause everyone in utah takes them and all the mormons, but oh, you had a beer last night, or you take some other medication? THATS BAD, shame on you. Thats exactly what will happen when you go here.
