I showed up at my appointment only to find out that it had been cancelled. This appointment had been confirmed via text 2 hours prior to my scheduled arrival time. Apparently, Vision Source decided to cancel my appointment without talking to me. Preferring to tell me in person that I am too poor to be seen there. Was it fun to try to humiliate me in person with a haughty attitude when I asked why I couldn't just pay cash for my appointment? I was also refused the possibility of rescheduling my appointment, because "their system was down." What an incredibly condescending and horrible experience. I was just trying to get my eyes examined so I could have surgery. I was the victim of extreme domestic violence- I have a complicated case and partial blindness. It's hard to get up the courage to go to an eye doctor to have my trauma addressed. Prepare to be humiliated and treated poorly by office staff if you have had any domestic violence related injury. I brought in my 3 girls for their yearly eye exam. Staff was professional . But the DR rushed through the exam, did not listen to my concerns and by the time she was done with 2 of my children she went even faster with my 3rd saying oh no she does not need glasses just more confidence. This particular child reads 1000 page books in a week, confidence nor lack of skill are not an issue for this child, I took her to a different doctor for a proper exam, and yes she needs prescription glasses. This doctor's lack of care respect and professionalism wasted this years exams covered by my insurance so I will gladly pay out of pocket to get the real care that my children and every child deserves. We will never be patients here again. read more

We absolutely love Dr. Angela Ferguson! She is so patient, so compassionate and so helpful with my 81 year old mother's eye care needs Dr. Ferguson first saw mom as a new patient last June, when it was determined that she needed cataract surgery. She recommended and assisted in the referral to Dr. Arthur Giebel who was also amazing. Yesterday was mom's second and final post-surgery follow-up with Dr. Ferguson and she confirmed that everything is right on tract. Mom has much better vision and no longer needs glasses. But just as important, she is very comfortable and confident in Dr. Ferguson's care. And as the son who lives 4 hours away, I couldn't be happier. read more

I wear contact lenses, but I need glasses in order to find the bathroom in the morning so that I can find my contacts. I hate glasses. Over 48 years, I have purchased so many pairs attempting to find a pair that I might wear in public that I could open my own optical store. Until the last pair I purchased from Valley Vision. Dr. Ness has the most efficiently run office I have ever seen, and the quality of care is always exceptional. The waiting room has been redecorated, but I never spend much time there, and the few times that I have had 5 minutes to wait because I arrived early, I have used the free wifi. Service in the optical department has seriously slipped since the last time I bought glasses. I wanted to see the colors available for the chosen frame; was told catalogs aren't made anymore, so the technician read aloud the colors names that don't tell you much. I asked to see the colors on the manufacturer's website and *he refused*, saying the online colors wouldn't be true. Too *5 weeks* to get glasses. Received two text messages saying the glasses had arrived, come get them--they were *not* available. When I finally got them, same tech just had me pop them on, he tightened the sides a little and thought they were good to go. No, they are sliding down my noses because one temple isn't right. What's happened? New owners, new management? Told some co-workers, ones that go to Valley Vision said they've noticed it's gone downhill. read more

I've been in twice for glasses and once for an exam. The exam was fine and the staff was very nice. The experiences I've had buying glasses were unimpressive. The first experience, I was replacing my ray-ban sunglasses. The salesman was pushy and kept tying to offer other gaudy sunglasses even though I was clear I was only interested in replacing my old ray-bans. He then ordered them in the wrong size and they were HUGE. It took an additional 2 weeks to get them sent back and corrected. Fast forward a year and I decided to replace my everyday glasses. I like a thicker more square frame and I was unable to find anything in the women's offerings. I was looking through the men's frames and the same salesman from before came over to "warn" me I was in the men's section. I told him I didn't care if it was men's or women's as long as the frames looked good. I ended up with a men's pair and I have gotten a lot of complements on the frames. I'm not sure if it's due to covid or something but it took over a month to get my glasses. read more

Addendum: A few weeks after I posted a somewhat scathing review of my experiences at Valley Vison their office manager sent a very congenial personal letter explaining some of the legal circumstances surrounding my frustration with getting my prescriptions emailed. Both his reasoning and, in particular, his efforts in reaching out to me have given me a renewed perspective on this business. Anyone who takes the time to respond to a Yelp review is worthy of a second chance. I'm adding 2 more stars for now due to the price of frames (again, a problem NOT singular to this business) but the quality of management and the already excellent patient care has regained my patronage. Needed an eye exam to get a license. While I was there getting the exam, some of the tests performed seemed unnecessary for the license I needed. I asked if the tests were necessary and they said yes. Later found out they were definitely not necessary for the license. They also tried to sell me glasses afterwards even though my eyes are perfectly fine and they knew I was there just for the license exam. This business takes advantage of its customers, as I did not know exactly which tests were necessary for the license at the time. I trusted this business to perform only what was necessary and that was a mistake. Please do not give your business to this company. read more

Our eye exams went well but the service we received in the store was awful. It was the first time my 5-year-old son was getting glasses and the sales person did not offer us any help, support or advice. They simply put the glasses choices on the table and walked away. I have been a customer of Valley Vision for several years. I recently went to purchase replacement glasses and was very detailed about requesting to know what they would cost me out of pocket. I was given a quote of the cost of the replacement glasses, we discussed my insurance benefit (which was paid accurate to what wa discussed), and I paid what should have been the difference from what I was quoted when I picked up the glasses...only to be billed an additional $250 two months later. Upon calling to get an understanding why, I was refered to the person who helped me when I purchased the glasses. I was told he felt it was fine that they had misquoted me what I would owe and that I could return the glasses if I did not want them. My complaint was not the glasses, but the origional misquote for which there was no acknowledgement or apology. I sure hope they enjoy the last $250 they will get from this previously loyal customer that would have spent thousands in regular visits and glasses. read more
