In the time between the right and left eye surgeries I really had a chance to see what it was all about. Putting drops in my eyes and looking at our really white ceiling in our house the ceiling was really white, closing that eye and looking only through the left, everything looked as though I was seeing through a glass of really dark bourbon. Walking out side I was really seeing the difference in the color of the flowers. What a treat, I can ever read without glasses, and can pass the drivers test as not needing glasses. I was impressed to hear about the techniques being used to get her 'realigned' so to speak. She was referred to NIV who has provided her a pair of glasses to correct her depth perception and focus. She also has in person vision therapy and 'homework'. They're located inside a once thriving shopping mall. I had some work to do so I brought my laptop and got set up outside their office. I quickly learned that the play area wasn't ideal for me to focus, as the parents let their kids loose to scream at the top of their lungs while climbing the slide and chasing one another. I relocated and before long her appointment was over. It's so interesting to hear the ways that a traumatic brain injury affects vision. I definitely see an improvement in her confidence and know she's making strides!

She had Dr. Leach's (my ophthalmologist) cell number so she called to see which ER he might be working at. He said 'Can you just meet me at my office?' We did and he diagnosed my CRAO which basically means I had a stroke in my eye. Today I woke up with a painful left eye that was weeping. I called ClearView and they got me in. The optometrist consulted with the ophthalmologist and set up my treatment:eye drops. They shared the ophthalmologist's cell and asked me to call him if it got worse and to definitely call tomorrow to update him. They also set me up with a Monday appointment. I really wanted to like this place, it was a cute little shop, with higher than normal prices for…read moreframes, but you get where you can right? I wouldn't. There were a few problems: 1. The doctor talked about her staff horribly off and on during our visits. 2. Constant turn over for staff which made consecutive visits to pick up frames confusing. 3. Billing was egregious. First time paid the bill, was called a few days later due to a mistake to pay more. Then, I needed a specific exam, which I specifically asked if it was covered, I was advised yes, and then she tells us after the exam it was not covered. She has changed our bill 3 times, each time to ask for more money. 4. Terrible customer service, it almost seems fraudulent the processes they have. 5. Spoke in detail about other clients. I would steer clear.

Honestly, I forgot about the late fee...my mistake; I take full accountability for it. Then in June, I received a notice (to an address I hadn't lived at for 6 months, yes I submitted a Change of Address and mail forwarding to USPS) about an unpaid balance and that they're sending me to collections?!?! Convenient that they don't have a patient portal for me to check right? I check my bank statements and yup, the payments went through, so I call their office 11 TIMES and can't get ahold of anyone! I drive to the office and sit outside for 15 minutes until I finally see Dr. Cooke, in between patients. Before I can even explain the situation, she quickly tells me to leave them another voicemail and then closes and locks the door on me! I would've happily waited until she had a free moment to speak with me or allowed me to speak with another employee (which she doesn't have as it turns out, hm, I wonder why), but she didn't give me the time of day. When she finally emailed me back, she was very rude and accused me of things which were not true (which she would've known had I gotten the chance to explain). Will NOT be returning.

I provided them two opportunities and two months to reimburse us but they would not. I am now filing a complaint with the Idaho Board of Occupational Licenses and the State Board of Optometry.
