This gym is absolutely appalling. They charged you a high fee, lock you into a contract. Give you promises for services, and they never provide. Gym equipment, is always dirty. There's never anything to sanitize things down before or after use of machines. Upholstery is broken on about 50% of the equipment. Water fountain has rust on it, and mold. The bathrooms are never stocked or clean. The showers are a biohazard in and of itself. There is always cancellations of the classes they provide. They do not offer any services advertised like karate classes, and pilates. they do not have a chiropractor on site, they fired her. The spa is not run by licensed cosmetologists, the cafe is always dirty and unkept. There is rust in the indoor pool, the therapy pool seat is corroding, which is terrible as it is used for transport of disabled individuals in and out of the pool. There is never anyone on management wise that can offer answers to my questions. Seems they just fired them all, as the three that were there when i signed up are now no longer employed. I want to warn anyone to this gym, as it's dirty, overpriced, and they serve alcohol? It's the owners nightclub on steroids, more than a serious venue to work out. They need to do better at cleaning. Complaints of cleanliness fall on deaf ears. They recently hired a cleaning company at after years of complaints. I am slowly seeing improvements however it is a huge undertaking. I wish they offered more classes. However they do offer quite a selection of classes. The basketball court is a big draw for my family. I've been a member for years and I hope they continue to improve. Very expensive gym, the membership prices are ridiculous honestly. Especially for the cleanliness, and upkeep of the establishment. It wouldn't pass a couple food, and safety inspections. I had to cancel for 6 months because it was way too much money with my last employer.But since I've gotten a new one with one that pays me more and contributes to a gym Membership. I'm trying to join back up. I've called three times, always told a membership sales person will get back to me to set up a time, or to send a request through the online messaging system. This place is to be the Premier Gym of the Valley. Similar to a Country Club feeling. Instructors are key to the classes but thats only if you are lucky enough to get into the class and not have the app freeze, and the class is available. Gym cleanliness is not maintained even with all members subject to a yearly maintenance fee. Leaks in ceilings, sauna broken for weeks, no new equipment and any broken equipment takes what seems forever to be fixed/replaced. Planet Fitness has better quality equipment, much cleaner facilities, and more equipment to be shared amongst members. Greedy owner who isn't kind to staff or appreciate their hard work and recognizing that the instructors are truly what keeps members interested in the otherwise run down facility. read more

VWC has so many great amenities, all of the yoga instructors are amazing.. it's really such a shame they don't maintain the facility. This place is covered in dust and rust. There is one cleaning lady that does her best however, this place desperately needs a professional company. I'll be canceling my membership in the near future if the cleanliness does not improve. Left VWC after being a charter member for a few years. Why? The main part of the gym is too small for the amount of members that belong and the place is always a mess! I joined the gym almost 3 years. I only used the indoor pool nothing else. Clean and new facility, nice pool and spa. Occasionally bad experiences especially today that I left gym before the GYM's early closing schedule but got unpleasant email that someone "saw me at locker room" after their closing time. Unbelievable! I do have official evidence that I left gym 50 mins before gym was closed, but don't understand what the employee based on to report me?? Our family recently joined Valley Wellness Center. So far, we are very pleased. The equipment is top notch, the facility is very clean and there is plenty to do. I can't wait for the outside pool to open for the summer but for now, I love the indoor therapy pool that is warmer than the lap pool. Plenty of classes and no trouble with our 14 yr old being able to get on the court to shoot hoops. It's a bit pricey but worth it to not have all the unattended youths like at other clubs. read more

Was thinking about joining since it's close to my house. Changed my mind after going and speaking to the employees who work there. The manager and assistant manager are straight up snobby. I had asked about member discounts because I was told that they offered them and I was treated like I was a low class citizen for inquiring about them. They expect you to pay $200 for an enrollment fee and $90 a month for 1 person! Apparently the outrageous cost pays for them to be snobby to potential customers! I purchased a pizza today for $10 as it was complete sauce, and cheese barely melted. It was not hot when I got it. There shouldn't be kids back there with no cooking experience. Signed up with my husband while they were running a special (no sign up fee) for the new year. A week into our membership and a trainer forced him off the equipment he was already using so that the trainers client could use it. Spoke to the manager regarding this and her only answer was training clients take precedence. Unacceptable to kick a paying member off equipment! Attempted to end our membership after 14 days and was told we signed a contract and they refused to cancel. If you're on the fence STAY AWAY. The facility is new, clean and well maintained. It is undoubtedly the largest facility of its type in the Lehigh Valley and well equipped (I.e. 4 pools) What's not to like? Well the staff are not helpful. After 2 years I'm still trying to figure out how to use some of the high-tech exercise equipment. The exercise studio is rarely staffed and on rare occasions when I find a staff member there, they typically know less about the equipment than I do. There is no warmth from the staff; they are more "warden like", than welcoming. How hard is it to smile? To say "good morning"? While there are, as I mentioned, 4 pools, they are very limiting, all being 4' or less in depth. This is too shallow to allow lifeguard training, or snorkel practice. Did you ever try to do a "duck dive" in 4' deep water? My advice? Don't try. The shallow pool depth doesn't allow for deep water aerobics, or drown-proofing or basic scuba or kayak training. read more

This is a wellness center, not a gym. As far as the price for a membership is concerned, I believe you do get what you pay for, and the price is worth it. While there are a few additional costs, I'm fine with going about my membership without the additional expense. I do feel the customer service could be better, but I'll just chalk that up to this being a brand new establishment with a lot going on. I can only imagine things will improve as the business gains some traction. I look forward to seeing the Valley Wellness Center succeed. read more

I tried everything to like & enjoy this place as it's very close to home.... but after nearly a year I can say that I cannot wait until the year is up and our contract ends. The staff & management are so incredibly rude & awful it's makes for an extremely uncomfortable environment. I know of at least 6 people that have left because of the same thing. Their employees revolve like a merry-go-round and the "childcare" is basically provided by children themselves.... 18 years old (Maybe?... if that?) Their reputation in the Valley is basically this..... it's a nice place and it has potential, but the staff is so rude and unhelpful you'd think you were at a snooty country club. Try calling to speak to a simple manager..... they blame & pass issues from one to another. It's a joke & I will let any person I know that this place is awful. They could have been the actual "place to be" in the Valley but from what everyone is feeling... including myself..... So, I genuinely don't understand the negative reviews of this place. I was interested in joining here because my cousin highly reccomend them as a great place to workout with a lot of amenities. Then I saw these reviews so I was hesitant, but I'm glad I decided to check it out for myself. Starting with what I like/love about this place - There is so much that they offer!! Seriously! They have two different studios, a bunch of different classes with convenient times, a beautiful gym floor with a whole second floor of cardio equipment, a beautiful indoor and outdoor pool, hot tub, plus a turf room and gymnasium which is huge by the way! People complained about the price, but honestly you get what you pay for. I feel like they offer you a lot for the price! - Most of the time the gym floor (where I spend most of my time) is not crowded at all. I'm a bit shy and can sometimes get intimidated quickly so it's so nice to not have somebody right next to me, feeling like I'm being judged for whatever reason! - Their cardio equipment is so modern and fresh! I've never personally tried it cause I couldn't figure out the audio part but you can literally sign into your Netflix account right on the machine, and watch whatever you'd like. I also noticed they have something called RunTV. I'm not exactly sure what that is, but it's still cool, regardless. - This place is the cleanest gym I've ever seen. From the gym floor, to the pools, etc.... seriously super clean and well kept - Employees are very friendly. Not sure why people have said otherwise, I've never had a negative experience. Also the trainers that lead the classes are great. - Nice parking lot. It's nice to not have to waste time looking for a spot like at plenty other gyms. Also for those who need it there is seriously plenty of handicapped parking. - Locker rooms are large and spacious with nice size lockers But while I do love this gym/facility there are a few improvements I think could be made - Firstly, although minor I wish they had closed captions on the TVs in the gym. - As for their cafe I wish they had a little bit healthier options. They do offer some sports drinks and granola bars, which I suppose could be considered healthy but they don't have any fruits like apples or bananas for vegans and vegetarians. I also think it would be great to add in some to-go salads or sandwiches. - Again, something minor but the restrooms are all in the locker room which is a bit far from the gym floor. There's been a few times when I couldn't hold it and had to walk all the way back to the locker rooms to use the restrooms and walk all the way back. I don't know if they could change it now that the facility is built but it would have been nice if they took that into consideration and added an extra restroom closer to the gym somewhere. - Lastly, their rock wall "training" is only offered at certain times. I was originally told this when signing up and thought okay no big deal but then after signing up the gentleman at the front desk told me that they just had to call for someone to show you and "train you" to be certified to use it. Then when I wanted to use it and be "trained" I was then told again that they only hold them at certain times which is like 4pm or something on weekdays and 11am or something on weekends. I understand the importance of needing to learn how to use it first so you don't hurt yourself but that whole situation was just confusing and I wish they offered more training times. Overall though, I seriously love this place. It's truly a great place to come and workout or just relax by the pool or whatever. For being the most costly gym in the valley, the customer service should be top notch which it's the opposite. They have very high staff turnover due to the owner. i joined this facility one week ago. i tried online to set up an appointment to tour the facility...twice...and no-one responded to me. i showed up without an appointment for a tour...a laconic disinterested man reluctantly gave me a horrible tour....i still joined because the facility is terrific i tried to set up private training...for three days i couldn't get anyone to respond to me i finally emailed the owner...the response was terrible...pretty much" if you dont like how we operate then leave"..those are my words but that was the message i chose to take my money back and move on i would stay away from this place only because the owner and employees dont care at all read more

And then if you do not like it for the many reasons that make sense (outdoor pool not open, kid play section much smaller than advertised, etc), they sue you if you want to get out? Everyone's a hater here in these reviews, but this place is good. I joined in late fall 2018 when the facility was very new and was still working out some of the kinks, so to speak. From some past reviews if you care to look in my profile, I've been a member of a few gyms in the Valley. I had a membership for a multi-gym program through my health insurance last year, but it kind of sucked and I wanted a better, more local gym. Then this facility opened. For starters, it isn't cheap. Neither is St. Luke's, neither is Steel Fitness Premier. However, I think it's worth the price compared to many gyms for a number of reasons: 1. It's not a dump 2. It offers a LOT of free classes with membership 3. Did I mention it's pretty clean and not a total dump? Yeah, that. 4. There's a pool and it's a very nice one at that. 5. There's a damn climbing wall in the gym, guys. A climbing wall. 6. There's also an outdoor pool 7. Again, the locker rooms are actually clean and if you need to shower here you don't feel like you're going to contract a bizarre foot fungus. 8. You can book classes online and not be concerned that you won't get a seat. 9. All the cardio equipment is modern with entertainment systems and a central log-in. I don't know how previous commenters feel this is "cheap" - it's really not. It's better than most of the chain gyms. 10. There's other services inside like a cafe and spa. 11. The childcare room is actually bigger than a closet - it's two medium size rooms. I don't have kids, but poked in. Don't believe the other comment. 12. Ample parking with no fees (looking at you Steel Fitness) 13. Not filled with douchebros and Instagram thots (looking DIRECTLY at you LA Fitness) 14. The cycling studio, full court, and turf rooms are pretty awesome. 15. 2 squat racks, multiple benches, and a nice open layout for lifting. 16. This place is huge. But onto the annoyances and the loss of a star: 1. The support and sales staff kind of seems lackluster and are only there for certain hours. 2. It's pricy for individuals, slightly better for couples/families. You can decide if the above is worth it to you or not. 3. Some of the studios are really small and have very limited class sizes that are almost always booked well in advance. If you want to do HIIT - good luck with that, it's pretty much the original group that got booked in and no one new. 4. The online booking tool can be wonky at times and you need to make sure you cancel hours in advance of classes or you will get charged. But that's fair when there's a wait list for classes. 5. The music is pretty terrible, bring headphones. 6. No towels unless you want to pay extra which seems a little odd. 7. Some of the features like the climbing wall have limited usage times. 8. The cycling can be really, really hit and miss based on the instructor. I stopped going because it felt like I was going to go deaf after a class. Like, the music is good, but holy god turn it down. 9. The cycling music/thumping wafts into every other surrounding studio. 10. The pilates classes are $15 extra per class. YIKES. Anyway, I enjoy coming here. It's definitely got a better atmosphere than the small St. Luke's gym nearby that cost close to the same. It's in better condition than Steel Fitness Premier (same price range) and is better for those of us that don't live in the Parkland School District. It's far better than the chain gyms - don't even come here to the comments acting like Planet Fitness offers you more per month. THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE SQUAT RACKS, KAREN. This place has horrible customer service staff I went with my 13-year-old son just for a day, it was the worse experience ever. The guy Brady was at the front desk chatting with a friend ignored that we were there. Now comes another youngster asking me for a credit card so I asked him what about a debit card he was hesitantly staring at me like I don't belong there. The racism was on display from the staff and the guests giving me dirty looks like I was at a Trump Rally. Was thinking of signing up for a family membership. We were told this gym was modeled after LifeTime fitness. As a New Yorker I was extremely disappointed. This is not even close to a LifeTime. Everything is a la cart, They do not even provide you with towels. The annual fee is outrageous for a "gym" located in the Lehigh Valley. My teen daughter joined the gym and went for about a month before deciding it was not a comfortable place for them. (too many groups of teen boys that weren't supervised). She had signed a contract for a year. so basically learning an $82 a month lesson about signing contracts. The wording shows that you must cancel the contract on the 30th day prior to the next billing date. So my daughter went off of the date the money was withdrawn from their account in June ( June 10th) and requested the written cancellation form on the 10th of July to complete their year membership which had begun August 2022. The form was requested that morning, and an email was sent, when it hadn't been received by early afternoon a second call was placed. The form finally arrived at 4:30pm. She was tied up that evening and the completed form was returned at 7:16am the following morning. But ,... Even after jumping through the variety of hoops required for her to get out of her contract, and confirming that it was cancelled, imagine our surprise when this morning there was a charge from Valley Wellness in the amount of $82. Upon speaking to the facility on my daughters behalf, I was told that the date the termination letter would have needed to be returned was by July 9th. as that was the date the contract was signed. However no one that we spoke to back in early July brought it up that the form had not arrived on the correct date. In fact I remember asking on one of the phone conversations to clarify that all was good and no more payment would be deducted, and was answered, that should be correct. If you have read this far I hope you can understand our frustration. I'm not sure which upsets me more, the fact that they can see that she has not been in the gym for 10 months and never reached out to find out why, just continued to charge her $82. a month, or that she tried to adhere to all the requirements to cancel and still ended up being charged and extra month, because the request was made the morning of July 10th instead of the evening of the 9th- Ridiculous. They went with cheaper equipment compared to higher end stuff. The music selection, when on is horrible and the TVs play bad ads of a doctor giving people epidurals to manage pain. The gym is outstanding- Clean and new. The issue is the membership options. Last year I utilized their college membership (3 summer months and 1 winter month) which worked out well given I was away at college during the other months. Now, in my last year of college, I am spending my time commuting from home so am looking for a full time gym near home- so I went back this past week to discuss entire-year college memberships, and they would not offer me one AND were requiring me to pay another enrollment fee on top of the enrollment fee I already paid originally. I do not find it fair for college students living away from home to be allowed to utilize the student membership but not local college students. The gym just wants your $$$$. The lap pool is often UNCOMFORTABLY cold. There used to be a thermometer in it about a year ago but it has since been removed. When addressing this temperature issue to staff on several occasions their response is most times condescending, flippant or full of excuses. I joined here to swim. As beautiful as the pool is it is stressful having to walk a lap to get acclimated to the temperature then dread putting your head in the water. When there are issues with the pool instead of putting signs on the door it would be professional and good customer service to send an e-mail to members advising the cold water issues or maintenance so members do not waste their time or gas money driving to the facility. E-mails are sent for other reasons not as important as the malfunctioning pool. I would like to be a member for many years to come and hope that the pool issues can be resolved more efficiently in the future Most swimmers do voice their displeasure over the water temperature which the owner told me is to be 82 degrees. This is why it is important to return the thermometer so members who are paying substantial fees to swim here can advise staff when the pool is unreasonably cold. Again I stress the importance of advising members by e-mail when the pool, saunas etc. are out of service. Also what does it mean that the pool is closed to gangrene as quoted by staff? My boyfriend and I had signed up together about three weeks ago, and before we signed up we had a few walk throughs. We were told to look at it not necessarily as an average gym but as a country club and I can totally agree with that. The workers are sweet (even if they are slow as others mentioned, it's called patience) and the people who workout there are all so very friendly. I was a previous member at planet fitness for years and hated it. Hated seeing everyone you knew in the Lehigh valley, judging looks, terrible service.. but it's different here. This place is amazing. When I walk up and even just look at the building as I walk in, I feel blessed and motivated to be here. Everything is clean and new. The fieldstone columns, panoramic, scenic views, the equipment, the in door rock wall (haven't tried it yet) just the overall atmosphere feels like an exclusive country club that you want to be invited to. The place has everything from a hair salon/spa to a restaurant to saunas, hot tubs and indoor/outdoor pool. They even have a bar for the outdoor pool. Won't let me cancel personal trainings and I asked to at least downgrade the next month. Was told no by Myranda and if I cancel, I would still be charged almost $600 for membership and training. The staff is rude. Annalise the manager is MIA. Every time I tried contacting the manager to cancel the trainings I was told she'll be in the next day but was not or she's not here and they don't know when she'll be in. Only friendly ones are the trainers. When the gym was about to close one day, a staff member yelled in the main gym area and I quote "Yo we're closed!!!" instead of politely saying "Excuse me, we are closing now." Another day, they decided to close early and shut all the lights off and didn't even give a warning. They could have checked the rooms to see if anyone was exercising before shutting the lights off. Completely rude. I was only planning on canceling the trainings but will also be canceling the membership too. Of course, only after I pay them almost $600 for an additional month with no choice allowed. read more
