There's never anything to sanitize things down before or after use of machines. Upholstery is broken on about 50% of the equipment. Water fountain has rust on it, and mold. The bathrooms are never stocked or clean. The showers are a biohazard in and of itself. There is always cancellations of the classes they provide. They do not offer any services advertised like karate classes, and pilates. they do not have a chiropractor on site, they fired her. The spa is not run by licensed cosmetologists, the cafe is always dirty and unkept. There is rust in the indoor pool, the therapy pool seat is corroding, which is terrible as it is used for transport of disabled individuals in and out of the pool. There is never anyone on management wise that can offer answers to my questions. Seems they just fired them all, as the three that were there when i signed up are now no longer employed. I want to warn anyone to this gym, as it's dirty, overpriced, and they serve alcohol? It's the owners nightclub on steroids, more than a serious venue to work out. I took my business to Planet Fitness, at least there they upkeep with the best work out machines available, and their classes are never cancelled.

I am slowly seeing improvements however it is a huge undertaking. I wish they offered more classes. However they do offer quite a selection of classes. The basketball court is a big draw for my family. I've been a member for years and I hope they continue to improve. If there was another gym closer with the same amenities I would be at that gym and not this one.

Gym is clean and equipment is a bit older but maintained well. Locker rooms are clean. Women's has two showers and have shampoo, conditioner, hair gel and lotion. Plenty of lockers with included locks and keys. Weights: Two power cages/squat racks and a smith machine. Ample plates from 2.5lb-45lb. About 7 adjustable benches (no rack, just the bench)and dumbbells up to 100 lbs or so. A cable machine with about 8 stations and lots of attachments. The cable machine has numbers, not weight equivalents. Assisted or unassisted pull-up/dip station. Variety of kettlebells up to about 50lbs. Other equipment: 3 plyo boxes up up to 24" tall. There's a large cushioned bench, probably 8'x8', that's great for core work, rather than laying on the floor. Resistance bands and station to attach them at various heights. TRX straps on one of the power cages. A handful of medicine balls. Cardio: About 8 treadmills, 5 ellipticals, 5 stationary bikes and 2 rowing machines. Some of the stationary bikes are a little wonky. Machines: Circuit of about 15 well-maintained machines including bench press, overhead press, row, leg press, bicep curl, ab/back extension and more. Classes: 2-3 per day at noon and around 4. Some yoga, some fitness. Amenities: TVs, controllable from the cardio equipment. Nice view of the highway and the woods beyond. Water, powerade and bottled protein drinks available at reasonable prices. It's $24.99/mo or free for LVHN staff. It's for general fitness. Not a luxe club or a powerlifting gym. Some people are pretty fit, some not fit at all, most people are average. If I could change things, I would add more free weights and take out some of the machines. I hardly ever see anyone on the machines. Will add pics if I can get any without people. Will update if I get more accurate counts on the equipment.

The one night I went there were 6 of us outside trying to go in and workout since we pay 69$ a month for the membership and our key cards wouldn't scan. 6 of us were out there standing, should we leave or should we knock on the door, and have one of the members break the rules to let us in to workout. Horrible gym. A gym is where you should feel welcomed and not judged when you come to change your lifestyle and work on your health. I was weight shamed by the trainers and the gyms manager. Even though he's rounder than me. I also don't want to be harassed because I walked in front of someone's camera to go do my workout or get a set of weights. They have a posing room for a reason go do that there. Or better yet don't do it at all. Look like a bunch of tools. They say they're open 24/7, well why is it when I come after close and majority everyone else our barcodes on our key tag doesn't scan. So then it's either we leave or we wait from someone inside to break the gyms rules to let us workout. I'm paying 69$ a month, and I cannot even enter the gym to utilize it.

I've only gone about four…read moretimes with a friend who brought me via the "bring a guest" perk of her "Black Card" membership. We went in late evenings, after 9pm. Occasionally, there were machines out of service, but this has not yet impacted us since it seems most machines are doubled. One of the machines was missing a handle for pulling a pin to reverse the orientation of action, requiring grabbing the threads with a paper-towel to protect the fingers grabbing at it. That's a problem I hope to see fixed next time I'm there. The cables keeping the weight setting pins in place are in various states of attached & broken, but none of the pins were missing. One evening there was a treadmill screaming a constant screechy perpetual BEEEEEEEEEEP. After 5 minutes of this, my friend went walking around to determine it was actually the machine next to her (apparently treadmills are now complicated enough in their computers to crash, sigh). She told a guy at the front desk; he came over, power-cycled the unit, and apologized for the annoyance. I think it would've been nice if someone working there had, you know, noticed and stopped this awful noise proactively. I don't know why nobody else seemed bothered (I find most people weirdly insensate by comparison to myself). Still, the problem WAS solved for us and no attitude was dished out. Perfectly acceptable interaction. I see most people cleaning the equipment after themselves. Some of the paper towel dispensers ran empty after 9pm, but others were still stocked, so I didn't have a problem. I only saw one "hangout" at one machine (one, then two big guys chatting up a petite woman using one machine, who might actually be an off-the-clock employee, but I'm not sure).

We were taught an array of moves on the pole and then moved onto a full chair dance routine. The women in our party ranged in age from their early 20's to late 50's -- and everyone had a blast! I can't say enough good things about our experience. As for the regular classes, I took a class here about a year ago and really enjoyed myself. Unfortunately, I don't live in the area or else Sweat Like A Girl would be my full-time workout studio.

I quickly became tired of the elliptical, tired of the treadmill, and the only thing I knew for sure was that if my workouts continued to feel like chores, I'd never stick with them. I tried the Fight Club class after checking out classes at a few other gyms, and I was instantly hooked. It was first time I realized I could have a good time working out. It took me a while to try out some of the other classes, but now, SuperGirl is my favorite. It's always something different, but consistently keeps me working hard. But the really surprising thing was, it didn't take me long to feel comfortable there. Heather, the owner of the gym who also happens to be the main instructor for many classes, is equally a motivator, an entertainer, and a hardcore fitness instructor. I start out each class feeling scared for the intensity i know is about to be inflicted upon my body, and psyched, in the same was anybody is before they are about to do something they know is going to be completely fun and rewarding. Any class with Heather usually includes a stand-up routine at no extra charge. And not surprisingly, smiling and laughing a lot while you're sweating like crazy, definitely takes the pressure off. Actually, all the instructors are pretty cool, care about your success, and will give you a great workout. I've met a lot of people at this gym, and the pervasive attitude is one of support, non-judgement, and willingness to help each other out. The whole environment is pretty cool, and rare. There's something for everybody, whether your idea of fitness involves flipping tires, interval training, running, dancing, pole, or kicking and punching. And the price is definitely right.

It left me wondering whether this type of behavior is addressed or tolerated by the company. Employees represent the organizations they work for, and conduct like this reflects poorly on the brand. It also makes me wonder...if somone is comfortable publicy criticizing local businesses, how are members treated if they have a disagreement or decide to cancel their membership after a year or two? That uncertainly alone would make me think twice. Based on what I've seen, I would not feel comfortable becoming a member and would not recommend it.

But, my kids have been taking things here for the past 7-8 years so I think I've got a pretty good grip on things from that perspective.) It's not the best of Y's but it's not the worst of Y's. It's a Y where the pool gets closed for cleaning at the last minute and you are never told. It's a Y where when something does hit their Facebook account it's not uncommon for the information to differ from what you're told if you call their front desk. It's a Y where a class that starts at 4 gets supposedly gets changed to a 4:15 start for the rest of the semester without you being told only to have you show up next week for 4:15 to find out that the class this week started at 4 at the whim of the teacher's schedule which of course means that you partially paid for nothing that week. It's a Y where in the distant past swimming classes would regularly have teachers that wouldn't show up/didn't know they were supposed to be there that day/no one was ever scheduled for that time by management. It' a Y that does offer a very good swim team with the minor issues of it having very unrealistic expectations as to what you are expected to pay and if you actually have a job that requires you to work weekends then you might as well forget it because you have no prayer with the volunteering requirements/travel schedule. But with all that said, at least in Bethlehem it's more or less the only game in town in terms of swim lessons for younger children so you sort or need to love the one your with and over time you do learn to lower your expectations and accept that no matter who you complain to things more or less never change.
