Where do I begin with the frustration with this place??? I lived in Phx, AZ 8/2019 - 5/2020. During this time I visited this clinic to get some injections done for school immunizations. Staff was friendly everything went great. Until now September of 2020 I get 2 bills in the mail stating I am being sent to COLLECTIONS for a visit from FEBRUARY. I never ONCE received a phone call, voicemail, or letter until now stating my balance. The audacity of this facility to make 0 effort to contact a patient about a bill, instead just send it off to collections? Not only that, but they sent the bill to my previous address in California??? When they had my CURRENT Arizona address on file with my updated phone number. Absolutely ridiculous. As a current Medical Assistant who works at a family practice, we would NEVER not contact a patient to let them know of an outstanding balance. Not only that, but I had a previous visit with this clinic in Oct/2019 and got that bill in the mail and paid it right on time. What went wrong from that visit to February's? Extremely unprofessional and disappointing. I will say thank you to the billing department when I called them, they did not have answers for me on what happened, but they were happy to send me an itemized recipient & take my payment over the phone. It was my primary hospital but I can't go here anymore. They keep you on hold for ungodly long, then they transfer you and you'll be on hold again. Then if you opt in for their call back system, they never call you back. If you stay on hold, they hang up on you. If they do finally answer, they put you on hold again. Their website boasts setting up appointments but it doesn't actually let you. I can't get an appointment for myself, I can't get cardiology to call me back, I can't get pediatrics to even answer their phones. I can't believe this place is even in business. I'm finding a new hospital and never coming here again, not that I could even get in to see them in the first place! read more

I am a Traveling Phlebotomist from Baltimore, Maryland who was there for about a month at the Comprehensive Medical Center from October to November. During my time there, I tried to use my expertise to help the lab grow and run as smoothly as possible. Well unfortunately, my contract was terminated on Nov 15th due to hearsay from other techs, and personal feelings towards me and my way of working. And I'm not sure if you were aware of my termination, but the execution was very unprofessional and unexpected. The day I was terminated, there was a staff meeting with both Courtney and Brian and NEITHER one came to me. I got a text from my recruiter while still in the building that my contract was terminated and to turn in my badge. Courtney spoke to me about issues with staff because apparently, I didn't want to do something from weeks back and using profanity in front of patients. It didn't come from the Lead because she wasn't there yet. I signed a form for a test that was mislabeled; I missed it because I was doing both pc and drawing blood. It got so bad that I missed a specimen stability because i had too much to do and techs in my ear telling me what to do. One particular tech (Odalsis) has an attitude and thinks she runs the lab; would say under handed remarks or try to have me to do more things than one. I had to stop and tell her, I can't to both Pc and Phlebotomy. But of course, I can't say anything to her because I'm a male and older than her. I'm going to be Honestly; my Race played a big part and the fact I don't speak Spanish was also challenging. I tried to the best of ability to understand while still keeping it professional and keep the flow going. Odalis even went to Courtney to complain about what? and this particular day; she was gone for about 30mins or more while we struggling to keep up with patients. I expressed this to Courtney, and it seem like she didn't care how I felt just wanted me to work. I had to speak to Courtney herself before because of her attitude when asking a question and got smart with me. It became a Hostile work environment, and I should have said something once it did. One thing for certain I am a Professional and have been doing this work for Years without complaint nor termination. They took the words of an 18yr old who only been working for 3 months and nowhere near professional to dictate my Livelihood. Not only defamed my character but left me without a job. I had to find my way back home to Maryland and pay off where I was staying to work there. Had I not had the money, I would have been stranded in Phoenix. I was embarrassed and my feelings were hurt, because I genuinely was liking the area and what it had to offer. Once the Lead (Saida) came, my comfortability went out the window and I actually wanted to end my contract myself. Saida was probably the most difficult person I have had as a Lead. She didn't want to listen to anything I had to offer, advise etc. Everything I would suggest, she would have a negative attitude to everything. She listens to Respond and Not Understand, and I have express to Courtney as well. I met you once in the lab with some ideas; and you appreciated them. Yet those same ideas were shot down by Saida for whatever reason. Even a couple staff members also told me they don't like working with her because her attitude and leadership skills are not up to par. I just find it even more interesting that when they finally hired a couple people; they didn't show up for Orientation but still had a job the next week. Hired again, and decided to let me go because they fully staffed. Leana was the tech that honestly helped me out and kept me sane. She even invited me to her Thanksgiving that I wasn't able to be a part of. Leana should have been Lead in my eyes; not someone from Peoria who only sees less than 50 pts a day. The experience I had at ValleyWise was overall was not what I had expected nor ever want to experience again. Just for future references if you want a traveler; make sure they fit the criteria you are looking for and can work under a hostile environment. You have a Lab with Great Potential, but not if it's operated by staff who don't Respect, Appreciate nor Understand others who are there to provide much needed help. Recently I crashed my motorcycle leading to severe road rash and burns, I was transported from Gilbert and got admitted into the burn unit for 2 weeks. The care that was provided to me was amazing and at no point did I feel neglected or ignored. The staff was extremely kind and supportive. It was a rough time recovering but the staff made it so much easier for me. These people know what they are doing and I wouldn't second guess recommending Valleywise Health. read more

Can i rate under a 1? I am new To AZ and hadn't established a PCP until now. I decided to go to a Valleywise suggested by my husband that visited the Laveen location. The only location I was able to get a appointment was the Chander location. I wanted to be seen for a issue. She suggested bloodwork to be done but didn't want to address the issue as it required paperwork to be filled out. she refused to fill out paperwork and suggested to make a appointment with a psychiatrist for them to fill out the paperwork!????? what in the world! For a anxiety flare up that was triggered from work???? are you serious? she didn't want to address my overall health 1st off which i am in good health. While hospitalized here I had to be put in an induced coma for 10 days from having a case of SJS I got from new meds I was taking. I ended up having a stroke while here as well as several seizures from some different meds they were feeding me. My family looked up the side effects of the new meds and found out it causes seizures!!! I have a rare seizure disorder so this is something that could've been easily avoided I would think if they know what's what?! The wait on the staff who is supposed to help you was usually way too long compared to other hospitals I've been at. There's some friendly staff there tho regardless. To top everything off I lost 30 lbs, food was horrible (even for hospital food!), and it was so cold I felt like I was in a refrigerator the whole time. Go somewhere else if you can. read more

Worst Health care facility ever, my husband was referred to a podiatrist at this facility, it took 5 months before we could see a doctor. The day of the appt. We were there for about an hour, 30 minutes waiting in lobby, and 30 minutes with doctor educating us about diabetes, didn't check my husband no test were run, nothing and just assumed he has neuropathy, also the doctor had no information on my husband no records I had to pull up information that I had from blood test that from 5 mths ago, this doctor told us there is nothing i can do for you and that was it no paper work and no answeres on why my husbands legs and feet hurt. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, we paid $90, and then they expect us to pay another $180, for the doctor to tell us nothing or everything we already knew. I have severe nerve damage to my head and face post skiing accident. I have been treated with injections, medications, ect. I am permanently disabled because of it. I have been sick for years before Covid, 2014 specifically. Valleywise Health Neurology department refused to see me because of my disability! My neuralgia is severe and chronic. My Neurologist in Massachusetts has all the medical documents and he is willing to talk to the doctors here about my condition. I cannot wear a mask. The pain in my head and face does not go away when the mask is removed. Wearing a mask results in me needing nerve blocks and steroids to stop the debilitating pain. Any neurologist would understand. It's just getting past the nurses and receptionist that keep refusing me treatment. You should be ashamed to refuse such a sick person. CDC guidelines even states that some people cannot wear a mask. my pregnant daughter came to get checked since we didn't know if her water broke and the labor & delivery nurse or check in nurse with VERY bright makeup on was very rude, her attitude was horrible & her demeanor was bad. It just seemed like she didn't even want to help us out, her facial expression were horrible and she was very inconsiderate and heartless towards someone who is about to have their first baby!! just horrible treatment!!! and a few hours later another woman being transferred from another floor arrived with a male nurse & they treated him very rude & they were denying care for the women he brought in & her unborn baby!! the male nurse had to argue in the waiting lobby with the nurses in labor & delivery for them to treat the women after he said he had called & let them know beforehand that he was coming to bring her. if they hate their job so much they should just find another career read more

Let's face it. Any hospital that you enter and come out alive with all your body parts, should earn an automatic 5 star rating. Don't you agree? This may be the county hospital but some of the best and brightest, most compassionate doctors work here. Top notch trauma level 1, a burn center, tox, just to name a few. What more do we really need in Phoenix? I was fortunate just to visit the place on a few occasions, but if I ever need to check in for an extended stay or a short stay for that matter, I'm sure that I'd be well taken care of. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and services rendered. Went into the ER with massive back pain. Quickly found out that the T12 vertebrae had a compression fracture. That means that I had broken my back. The staff addressed the issue. Physical therapy was started. In around a week, with the use of a back brace, I am able to stand, walk, use steps, and use the facilities without assistance. As for the building, it is aged. A new building is under construction. To be finished this year. In the end, I prefer skill over an aged patient room anytime. ​ read more

First time, trying to get an appt w Dr Kest is like pulling teeth. My insurance does not require referrals, I'll admit I have really good insurance, yet the lady on phone said I had to have one person their policy and to see if the dr even wants to treat me. Wtf!? I swear the medical field in AZ has gone downhill, the "care" in "healthcare" has been removed. I called again and got the run around, then finally told to wait for their call, once my primary sent my files. If I was waiting around for them, I'd probably have died..its been 10 days now and still no phone call.I had to find another ENT to treat my illness. This office, like a previous dr I left a review on, seems to really have ZERO empathy for people, could care less if people are sick or not and maybe really hate their jobs. I had a friend in the Emergency Department last month. I can only say they should have admitted a friend of mine immediately but they didn't. I am going to say nothing more about that experience. I want to give an immediate five stars to Dr. Hurowitz of the Medical Sub specialty Clinic. I will also give those five stars to the young gentleman at the front desk of said clinic. I will edit this review to give that person's name and the name of a person from another department at a later date. Why five stars to these people? My friend was truly suffering from an acute flare up of rheumatoid arthritis. When I arranged with the front desk to get a wheelchair stat the next day, it happened. Dr. Hurowitz spent ten minutes with my friend and had her in a hospital bed forty five minutes later. It was heartening to see a physician recognize that a fifty eight year old woman who could hardly walk and was swollen to about three times her body size all over had a real problem which is more than I could say for the ED Department. On top of that, Dr. H showed an incredibly compassionate attitude in working with my friend, Mary Lou, and believe me she needed it. We have been back to the clinic after Mary Lou spent five days in the hospital and had what seemed, every test know to man run on her and was seen by as many Dr's in every area. He is realistic enough with her to say that my friend's condition is unusual and there is more work to be done. With both agree, that with a specialist like Dr. Hurowitz, what needs to be done will eventually occur. He's that type of physician. Mother mistakenly taken to the emergency room here. Despite the 911 staff error, mother received kind and excellent care. Doctor Pugsley, emergency nursing staff; James Bradford and Belinda Holbrook took excellent care of her. Mother felt safe and states the hospital was clean. They even provided her an outfit to leave as her clothing was dampened . An otherwise horrible mistake made by emergency drivers taking mother to the wrong hospital where she was unknown ended up being a more than satisfactory experience. read more

This was the best staff/doctors there ever was in this hospital as a patient coming to dermatology/OBGYN as a reg then delivering my baby those nurses and doctors pep talked me were focused on me and my baby were kind dedicated every thing you wish a nurse or doctor would be when I wanted to give up and do a C section like my first (in banner) the staff didn't give up on me and lifted my spirit up and helped me deliver the baby naturally! I was in a great deal of pain when I went into this emergency room. The initial staff was quite caring and attentive. I had to call back later in the day for a question regarding my medicine...that THEY PRESCRIBED. The first person that I spoke to gave me specific instructions on what to do regarding my medicine and it's effectiveness. My medicine did not do what It was supposed to do so I called back as directed by the physician that I spoke with. Upon my second call I unfortunately spoke with a very very rude and condescending . She spoke to me as if I was some sort of addict making up the information. I gave her the specific information she looked it up and spoke to me as if I wasn't sharing information about her OWN staff. Of course she did not give her name, but don't worry I have the date and time that I spoke with her and I will be writing it in the survey that I receive. If a staff member would like to contact me regarding this exchange I am more than happy to speak with someone. Sarcasm and arrogance do not belong in a medical facility. read more

Took a friend to the facility to have a surgical procedure. Was at the hospital at 7:15 am, appt. time was 7:30. Shuffled through admitting and surgery. Friend sat back in surgery for over an hour by herself. When they finally called me back to sit with her, they had her shuffled off in a corner and the curtain pulled so no one could see her. I find out later that her surgery was actually scheduled for 9:40. She finally had her surgery just before noon. Big communication errors, staff tells lies and doesn't let you talk to the administrator or patient care advocate. She was the only one in the area for two hours. She needed to go to the restroom four times. Ridiculous patient care; or should I say lack of? read more

For the most part I am a very understanding person as I understand how busy healthcare workers can get, but let me start off by saying the "covid precautions" in the ER were mind blowing. I was waiting in a room with a few chairs where other patients waited to be called on and for the hour and a half that I waited there for a room not once did I see someone clean the seats in between uses. That wasn't it though, they proceeded to do a covid test since I was going to be admitted and I want to say half an hour later a nurse comes in and says I tested positive therefore I have to isolate and can't have any visitors with me during my stay. It caught me off guard because I have been quarantined ever since the birth of my daughter in late December so I couldn't pin point who I could've gotten it from. Few moments later I get told I have gallstones and have to get my gallbladder removed and I can either stay and get tested a bit more to pin point what's going on or be an outpatient for the surgery. I was told I'd be checked on during the night and get the surgery the next day. Well I decided to stay since it seemed like the best option and that's where i regret my decision. Every single person I talked to gave me different answers, ended up having an mri and waited for the results the whole day, 3rd day came in and still nothing, I was npo since Friday and I ended up leaving Sunday afternoon because I couldn't take it anymore. Some nurses took the time to put on their ppe and others didn't, some told me I'd be out of there by Sunday morning and I wasn't because the surgeons and GI's were on call so I had to wait till Monday to be able to see them. As much as I didn't want to leave I had to because I felt like a prisoner instead of a patient. It would've been good information to know that I'd be there a whole week pretty much. Still being suspicious about my covid results the day after I got home I went to take a covid test and came back negative. I was frightened and in disbelief because I was scared my newborn and toddler had been exposed and I had no clue all for literally nothing. I got lied to about having covid and got nothing done. Had to have been the worst experience at a hospital yet I don't recommend if you feel like you might be admitted it feels like they're scamming to get money from "covid" patients and if you don't have the coronavirus you might end up catching it at this hospital if you're not careful. Totally unsanitary! On the other hand I did get a couple really nice and caring nurses that definitely deserve to work at a better hospital that actually cares about the patients. Some of the night nurses were so rough my arm is still sore from where the iv was put in and I literally have a bubble that turned yellow because one of the nurses rammed in the needle and wiggled it like if it wasn't in a vein. read more

Well my GI, Ob/gyn, oncology, urologis and my pcp doctors are fron from this network n so far all are good doctors. But the ED doctors are something else, one of this ed doctor accused me of making myself sick so i could get narcotics when they know that my chronic anemia has nothing to do with narcotics when i get to the ed with my hemoglobin levels at 4.00 or 4.2 i dont need narcotics what i get is blood transfusion so i dont know how i could get my self anemic to get narcotics. And she had the nerve to check my body for needles marks. Them in another occasion she told me that my chest pain n the shortness of breath was because i need it to loss atleast 20 pounds and after the xray n the blood work what i had was blood clots in my lungs. Hubby was hospitalized there recently for a bad leg burn; wonderful staff, super impressed with how kind and knowledgeable all the staff was. I highly recommend this burn center, I know they do other things there as they had a maternity unit. Every worker there including the medical staff was always very pleasant towards us. It is an old hospital and a bit of a maze to walk through but staff was happy to point us in the right direction. read more

I came in at 9:37 am. Filled out all the paperwork, paid etc. I waited until 11:10 am to be called. I am a patient person but this is a bit much. No heads up like "sorry sir, we are a liitle behind....". Service from the Medical Assistant and Physician Assistant was excellent. Not pushy, friendly, detailed in answering questions or giving advice. Great service but wait time is too long. Receptionist should not overbook. Will recommend. read more

This emergency room is the worst. I came in complaining of my throat being very sore, fever, chest pains, having the chills, back pain and a massive headache. They did a covid, flu and strep test and told me they were all negative which was false. I definitely had strep and had to suffer 3 days with the pain cause I trusted what they told me and just tried to ride it out (as they told me). I was told I had a non bacterial virus that kids are passing to adults and was given Tylenol and ibuprofen for my fever and pain. When I called today to let them know I was misdiagnosed I was told by Amber the supervisor "that's why we tell you to follow up with your primary care doctor; no apology, sympathy nothing and had the nerve to had an attitude. I work with kids and could have passed this to them cause they just rush people out and not do their job which is horrible. I wouldn't recommend this place to NO ONE! read more

I've been to different hospitals this year for different things and this time my fiancé needs to get his gallbladder removed and was in serious pain so we happened to stop here which was a HORRIBLE idea! It's a Disgusting place, and you have to share a room with 3/4 different people when your in the emergency room and when they admit you to the actual hospital you still share with 3/4 people and it's disgusting people coughing, pooping vomiting on themselves in the same room, soo NOT Sanitary and within the 3/4 people in the same room have to share the same bathroom so gross! Then they gave us an option said we can leave and wait for Tuesday but that it can cause infection and mess with his liver and all this stuff so it's an emergency for him to get it out as soon as possible so we listened to the doctor and stayed but now they said they have to wait until Monday to get it removed because they do not have a surgical staff. What it sounds like to me is they want to milk the wait cause this hospital needs money, from what it looks like and when I ask questions they're like ohh you need to talk to this person so then I talk to that person and they're like you need to talk to this person so basically sending me in circles, seems no one knows nothing! P.s. i had to clean the bed myself cause it was full of stuff, maybe from the person before? Just DO NOT DO IT, you WILL REGRET IT, I PROMISE YOU! read more
