I went to this location today and just got books after helping a friend move. It has more selections compared to the Salvation Army Thrift Store across the street (probably because it has a bigger space.) The staff seemed very friendly, welcoming and patient. The items on the shelves are very organized and they seemed to be a little new or are in very good condition. They are sorted into what they are (ex. cups are with cups, candles and candles holders are in the candle area) compared to the Salvation Army Thrift Store which looks like a kid's messy room. Also, I think they might be slightly more cheaper compared to the Salvation Army ones. The books are sorted based on genre but they are a little pricey which is my only complaint. However, I think that the deal they have is somewhat good/decent (buy 4, get 1 free) because you get the the 5th free though you will have to pay around $20 (plus tax & give or take a few dollars) for 5 books.

Largest Value Village I've visited. This is my new favourite location, runners-up are Islington (Etobicoke), and Bloor St W (Toronto). As with any thrift shopping, you have to frequent constantly to see what is available. Helps if you sign up for their Super Savers Club, prices can be really good if you wait for sales.

Items that they sell are incorporated into their new signage.

I don't get the bellyaching about the prices. Jeans for $24.99? Maybe but they're usually stuck on jeans that retail for $300 in the store! A bowl for $9.99? Probably, but did the reviewer check if the bowl was Wedgwood or Royal Doulton? Same item, different colour, different price? I'm sure if you point this out to the staff, they would happily honour the lower priced item. Prices are higher because there are so many resellers that come by, swooping things up, so all these thrifts stores have smartened up about their pricing. So that's why tops are no longer $1 and don't forget inflation as well! On to the review for this particular location... Store is fully renovated, large, organised, nicely lit, and clean for the most part. At least there are restrooms for customers. Like most stores, you hafta know which workers to ask for assistance, some are more helpful/friendlier than others, but for the most part they're pretty good. Staff is constantly restocking sales floor throughout the week, so there's a lot to look through. Merchandise is moving a lot quicker at this location than their older one, so I am finding less stuff, but it's all about timing when you go thrifting! No complaints and a vast and welcomed improvement from their original location. Parking lot is much better because there are fewer tenants.

An example of the books I find at this location - signed Camryn Manheim (association copy?) book. I didn't pick this book up, though.

It took a long time for me to write a review on this Value Village, because I needed to visit it a lot to get a better understanding. My association with the relocated Dixie/Dundas Value Village began in January 2017, when I was invited to a pre-opening event because of my status as a Club Card member. It was a bit of a surprise walking in for the first time - the place was absolutely sprawling. From what I gathered at the time, this location is twice as big as the previous site across the street near the Talize. The whole corner block has quickly turned into a hub for thrift stores - this site is now directly across the street from the Salvation Army and Talize (both of which I've spoken about in previous reviews). After visiting this Value Village frequently for the past three months, I'm confident in saying that this is now my new favorite in the city. (As an aside, for those complaining about the lack of finds - this store was, and will continue to be, a prime target for resellers. At the pre-opening event, I watched a man run to the records section and immediately start hoarding a stack of LPs, most likely destined for eBay. It's the nature of the beast.) The store is a bit overwhelming. Not only are there racks upon racks of clothing, but the specialty sections are surprisingly well-curated. I always make a beeline for the books whenever I come in, and I've been consistently surprised by the quality and selection of books. A thrift store is only as good as the donations it gets, and I've been impressed with the amount of content they get in. The vintage/collectible books section consistently has stuff that looks either brand-new or being sold at a significant loss (i.e. Folio Society books, signed books, Penguin collectible titles). The clothing itself is another high point - I've found everything from Brooks Brothers to Hugo Boss suits here, and a dizzying amount of shoes, jeans and other accessories. Of course, the knick-knack section runs into the same problem as any other thrift store. Picked over and filled with broken or unusable items. To their credit, though, I almost always see employees restocking whenever I visit. I'm a bit more comfortable paying higher prices for thrifted goods when I know the selection is well-maintained and highly curated. This Value Village has quickly turned into one of my favorite spots in the city to go thrifting at, and it's one I plan on visiting frequently for a long time to come. Well worth checking out.

First time today going here (ever) after couple of gov. imposed lockdowns since it opened around…read morethe same time last year My impression of this store was that it was quiet, organized, the people working there were nice and there were a lot of stuff to choose from. In the aisles, the items were organized based on what they were while the at the ends of the aisles (the side near the clothing) were organized by colour. The prices seemed to be lower than the couple of thrift stores I have been to. They don't calculate taxes on what you are getting so if you spend $5, you will pay $5 which was a shock to me (in a good way). I will probably here many more time in the future. I would totally recommend coming here.

*Rating only for the Donation Centre*…read more The Donation Centre at this Goodwill location is great! This plaza gets pretty busy and parking seemed to be packed but if you're looking for the Donation Centre, it is located on the right side, where there is additional parking. There is also a curbside area with signage directing you to pull up to for drop-offs, there's no need to park. At a glance, the Donation Centre looks to be very clean and organized. There is a large door open on the side of the building for donation drop-offs. We were told to leave our donations in the doorway, and the staff will later retrieve and sort through them. They operate with contactless donations - how convenient! Goodwill works with organizations that provide assistance to those with barriers seeking employment and upgrading their skills. What doesn't get sold in their stores, gets rotated to other locations, to Goodwill outlets, then sent to textile factories to be upcycled and repurposed. If you're looking to donate your items, please support non-profit places like Goodwill, rather than for-profit businesses in the area like Value Village and Talize.

With this, Review #150, I have now written about every Value Village within Mississauga…read more Either I really love thrift shopping or I have no life. The jury is still out. I love this location, which makes me kick myself even harder because I never even visited until very recently. Sure, I passed it plenty of times while travelling to and from places, but I never stopped and went in until now. And I was so glad I did. I feel like this place is an untapped mine of goodness. Not only is it NOT picked over like some other VV locations (just look at their suits! Brooks Brothers! Ralph Lauren! Strellson! All $30 or less!), but this place has one of the cleanest tech/junk sections I've ever seen. It's clear that the staff are very mindful about this kind of thing, because the store is impressively organized and almost every inch is curated well. Sure, the paintings are still a bit haphazard, but you're never going to fix that issue. I came in here looking for books, and LORD HAVE MERCY, did I find them. A signed copy of Bob Woodward's "The Secret Man". Signed Kevin O'Leary books! More signed books than I could carry! For $6 a pop! This might be the best-kept thrift store secret in Mississauga. There's rows upon rows of goodness, and it's either being turned over at an incredible rate or there's so much good stuff flowing in that visitors can't keep track of it all. I came here with a friend who went crazy looking for clothing and ended up walking out with $30 in hardly-worn designer apparel for herself. The opportunities are endless. Not to mention the friendly staff! Sure, there are a couple who would rather get on with their day, but most everyone there is respectful and courteous. A rare sight indeed. This is one Value Village I'll definitely be revisiting as soon as possible, and one of the best thrift stores in the city. It's been a long, strange trip. Here's to another 150 Yelp reviews!

I've been to tons of Value Villages and only seem to have a problem at this location, when a certain person is working. She seems to impose her own set of rules that don't make any sense. When she's working, if I have an item that doesn't have a price, chances are, I'll probably be leaving it behind. Case in point: Picked up a pair of vintage, black aviator sunglasses from the regular sunglasses wall. No price. Upon checkout, I give it to the worker who's managing the self-checkout and a while later, manager-on-duty prices it $24.99!!?? Lady, I grabbed it off the wall - not your overpriced showcase. If it was originally priced at $24.99, why would it be in the "wild" with the other cheap sunglasses? Another time, I asked her to reprice a girl's jacket that was priced as a women's. She was ARGUING with me that it was a women's! Jacket was for a 6yo. Completely miserable, unreasonable, right fighter, and seems to NOT want to sell things. Baffles me since it's a retail store.
