The volunteer has the ability to pick up the best items for resale and after attempting to contact head office about my concern rns I was not given a satisfactory response form head office I fear that that this known reseller is able to pick up the best items for resale before regular customers have a chance at buying them Sadly I feel this location is compromised I know volunteers can be a big part of such charity organizations but using well known reallers to the store to volunteer is like asking the dog to guard your dinner I speak only from my experiences and shared comments from other local shoppers who know the volunteer and from a comment by another staffer at the restore that they feel that the volunteer is taking advantage and buying very high value items first before other customers get a chance So I wish that at least set a

He helped me all the way with the info I needed as to delivery. As I was about to exit the store, he suddenly suggested that if I had an appropriate car he and his helpers would put the furniture in for me. This they did....slowly and carefully...and would absolutely NT accept a gratuity I offered them.. They were just kind, thoughtful and amazing. You are lucky to have Lance at your store. Ivan Araujo. Second Harvest is a fantastic charity that has been helping hungry people in Toronto since 1985…read more Second Harvest picks up surplus fresh food from food donors such as grocery stores, restaurants, caterers, manufacturers, and events and delivers it to social services agencies, such as shelters, food banks, and breakfast programs. Second Harvest depends on volunteers to help with deliveries, sorting food, and running events. If you would like to volunteer, you can sign up on the website: http://www.secondharvest.ca/volunteer/index.php. I volunteered at Second Harvest for the first time this week in both helping with deliveries and sorting food in the warehouse. Working on the truck was great because you can see firsthand the people who are benefiting from the service. It feels good to do something tangible to help people in need. The warehouse is a much more solitary activity, but there is a lot of work to be done to portion donated food, so it was great to lend a hand. The annual Turkey Drive is coming on Dec 6-7 and Dec 13-14, 2008. You can volunteer or help by buying a frozen turkey at participating Loblaws locations where volunteers will collect and deliver them to people in need.

This location has a large upper gym area, a pool, and courts for different sports. They also have classes throughout the day! With the membership price and the ability to access multiple locations, I definitely think a YMCA membership is worth the price if you plan to make use of everything that they offer.

Not necessarily my favorite Y, but ultimately it has most things you'd expect to find in one…read more I mentioned in a review for another Y that decor doesn't really matter with gyms. I guess that's still true but I was surprised at how much the monotone grey-scale of the entire place made it feel cold in here. I guess I'll continue with a couple more critiques. One is that I don't understand why they don't simply keep towel racks in the plus change-rooms as they do at every other Y I've ever been to. It's part of what you're paying for, and though you can get them at the front desk, it just seemed odd that they just won't keep them stocked in the change-room for convenience. The change-room itself was quite small and has virtually no seats which was a bit odd too. Apart from those minor things, the workout area is well stocked and they even have a couple unique things in what is sort of a mini studio in the middle of the workout area. One thing I really appreciate this place as a runner is that their track is longer than most of the other ones as it circles the gymnasium as well. It's nice having longer straightaways so you don't feel like you're turning most of the time. If you're strictly into using weights, they do have what you need here though you can probably find other places to go to for cheaper. However, Y's (including this one) are great for having additional amenities, which includes a full-sized pool, gymnasium, running track, programming for kids and other things. There's also often more a community feel at them and often a chance to make connections too.

They have absolutely earned a perfect five-star rating from me. The selection and value are simply unmatched. I've found so many high-quality items--from brand-new clothing with tags still attached to vintage housewares and hard-to-find books--all at unbelievable prices. The quality of the merchandise is excellent, and the daily deals and color tag sales make it even better. Beyond the deals, the store is surprisingly well-organized. Unlike some other thrift shops, the aisles are always clean, and the clothing racks are sorted efficiently by size and color. This makes the "treasure hunt" exciting without being overwhelming. The inventory changes constantly, so there is always something new and exciting to find! The staff, from the folks stocking the shelves to the cashiers, are always friendly and efficient, even during busy periods. They handle the high volume of customers quickly and kindly. If you are looking for a fantastic deal, a unique find, or just love sustainable shopping, you must visit Value Village. Highly recommended for the ultimate thrift shopping adventure!

Dropped off a few donations at this location before and there's always a staff coming out to help…read moreand provide you with a coupon. Their coupon is usually 20% off of a purchase of $50 so I don't find much use for it. They have a good selection of home and clothing, but the store tends to be in a bit of disarray. I hate that you still can't use the change rooms because you can only do exchanges here and within 14 days. So I'll usually wear leggings and a tank top with a sweater if I know I'm going to want to check out the clothing. That way, I can kinda just try it on in the store. It's super uncomfortable though because there's just a bunch of people staring at you sometimes. The clothes are wicked packed into the racks too and I've found plenty of pieces with holes/ tears. Those should be sent for fabric recycling, not sold to people for the same amount as a piece that isn't wrecked. The pricing has gone up at Value Village. It's no longer easy to find a good thrifted item. There's times where I've found items that cost MORE here than at regular... Sometimes, the original price tag is actually still attached, and I'm not just referring to dollarama items. It's just become a really dishonest place. Still, it's thrifting, so you do need to put time into it if you want to hopefully find a treasure. Staff here are hit and miss. Some of them are nice and helpful, and some are just really rude. I can't blame the miserable ones though. People need to stop throwing unwanted items all over the store. It contributes to the messy store and it's really disrespectful to the staff that have to clean it up. The floor also seems eternally dusty. There's so many dust bunnies, if I do find a good piece of clothing, I'm immediately terrified of letting it touch the floor. The number of times I've swiped the floor on accident and picked up what looks like months of dust was horrifying. All in all.... it's what you expect at Value Village.
