Has a good selection and a great book section. They have gone up significantly on their prices even though everything they get to see is FREE. The cashiers are very slow and any items that are breakable they have no way to wrap. If your bags are too heavy to carry...too bad. Buggy's can't leave the store. Please be aware this is a VERY HIGH CRIME AREA. It's worth treasure hunting there but be very aware of your surroundings and hoodlums hanging around the outside of the store. read more

them so customers can not get the discount. Nov 16, saw a pair of shoes at Riverdale Value Village that I liked. There was a blue $10.99 over the original yellow $7.99 price. The color tag was yellow which was the 50% color of the week. I showed it to an associate who said I could have it for the 50% off of the $7.99 on the yellow tag. She also stated they were raising the prices to higher prices. I purchased a dress, 2 pairs of shoes, old DVD player, and connector wires. Yesterday, Dec.6, 2023, the color tags were orange and green. They had 3 containers of old connections wires. The one I decided to buy had $1.21 green tag and a $1.21 pink tag on it. The associate was removing and putting discount orange tags items in a grocery cart. I looked though the cart and found a black dress priced $0.00. The associate said they had to sale it to me for that price. Which was true..when I went to checkout, the cashier asked the black male manager which tag to ring up green or pink for the wire. He removed the %50 off green tag. When I asked why he said it had week 27 on it, we haven't put any week 27 out this week. Those old wires had been in there for probably a year. Both tags was $1.21. I would actually consider this a pretty good Value Village, as far as they are concerned. I frequent this place from time to time because I have friends that live in the area, and so we enjoy being cheapskates together on occasion. I've found some really great books here, so their book collection is pretty extensive. Thank you, people who don't read! A few notable purchases: once, me and my friend went here and found a really decent record player. A three-piece machine of beauty, with speakers, case case, and even one of those little volume boards to adjust bass, treble, etc. Though the player ended up having a busted speaker, it was still a really nice purchase. I've also found some really good costume pieces here before, as well. Things for when I went to Dragon Con, and other random themed parties. There are a lot of creeps, here, though. People who will hit on you, and sort of... Follow you in the store, to hit you up for your number, or because you "look so familiar". So there's that to put a damper on thrifting in this area. read more

The owner has started pricing things in the store like an antique store without knowing what the heck that are doing. 45s are now $3.99 because "she saw one sell on Ebay for $12" I was told by a store employee. Meanwhile they are dirty, scratched and have no jackets. These go for $0.50 at every other thrift store AND at a record store (after being professionally cleaned). I am not a happy customer today. I went to Value Village for books on crafts and I spent almost an hour to look for them, about 8 to 10 books, but to my frustration when I went to pay. Those books don't have sticker prices except for two, and a lady came around and said she is the manager and said these books need to be brought in to be priced. I said fine with me and I will wait.... but to my disappointment she said it's a holiday and no one will do it. I frequent this place and all my previous encounters was resolved on the spot. Shoudn't they be glad that these goods are being picked up by those who appreciates them? Also, they need to price all those books in the shelves becasue most of them don't have prices. I heard from the manager that people are removing the stickers, which I say, for those who are doing it should be ashame of theirselves becasue this is a thrift store with a cause?... but how they acted this morning was not what I expected. They are quite mediocre in their selection of clothes/fabrics and to be honest a bit pricey as far as thrift stores go. Found a few goodies in their miscellaneous section though. They are super organized nonetheless and great customer service. read more

I have some of my kids clothes that I wanted to donate. I was across the street at Chase and decided to stop over here to make the donation. The sign clearly says to stay in the car with my hazard lights on and an associate will be RIGHT out to assist. Well, it's been about thirty minutes since I've pulled up to this place, an associate came to the door maybe 15 minutes ago, looked, said nothing and went back inside. At that point I was irritated, but the cause is bigger than me so I stayed, but at this point I'm over them! I guess I'll drive down to the other thrift store and donate there! read more

Will never buy anything from this store again. I bought a mattress for my kids and this shit feels like my kids laying on the concrete... the mattress was defective when I bought it and I didn't realize it til I laid on it a couple of days ago.. any big purchase should come with a year warranty on it, I wasn't asking for a refund I just wanted another mattress that wasn't defective being that I bought a total of 4 from this sorry ass place. And the only thing this district manager could say to me is... I'm sorry, but unfortunately I can't do anything about it... that doesn't help nor make this situation any better....
