If you haven't been to Vampire Penguin - Seminole, you are missing out! Such a cool place and unique ice cream! It's fluffy and a little crunchy. A great summer treat! Had no idea what to expect, the shaved ice is a unique and wonderful experience! So light and fluffy and a lil crunch adds the perfext texture! One small could've been split between three people. Our girls each got their own and couldn't finish it. We got two strawberries shortcakes, and one Twix. They were all delicious! I especially love the fresh fruit. The place has such a cool vibe with colorful penguin art, a huge throne chair that is perfect for pictures, and fun pops of color everywhere you look. The staff was so friendly and welcoming which made it even better. If you are looking for a treat that is as fun as it is delicious, this is the spot. We will definitely be back.

So so so good. I tried the one with taro and it was divine. The service was nice. The restaurant had indoor and outdoor seating. Everything is under $10 I would go back! The ambiance can be improved, maybe simplified and consistent. This could be a very cool spot if it were dimmer and had a mood.

First time here and did not disappoint. So smooth and creamy like a frozen latte with crumbles. Hubby enjoyed the Dulce deleche. Cute little decor everywhere. The front of house was super friendly and answered all our first timer questions! We'll definitely be back again to try all the flavors

I have been here a few times now and keep trying different things. I have yet to pick a bad combo! The Mexican was incredibly good. The orange creamsicle flavor was also super solid. They were both better than the piña colada one. Dulce de leche is an excellent safe option. What is this place though? It's hard to describe because it's not ice cream. And it's not Italian ice. It's like that shaved milk snow you can find occasionally at Asian cafes but with a ton more options in flavors and toppings. The powdery frozen goodness is super light and fluffy. The sky is the limit as far as building a dessert to suit your palette. Fruity things, chocolate, crunchy bits, syrups... Every time I have been here the people working have been super patient because there are so many options and I take forever to decide. The inside of the shop has a few tables and is always kept clean.

Vampire Penguin is always a great refreshing treat to have after a long hot Florida day!! Friendly staff are very helpful in menu choices and do an excellent job building each dessert choices to order quickly. Very cheery and interesting interior from the art on the walls, to the unique furnishings. Great place to visit after lunch or dinner. Kid friendly as well. Definitely worth the visit!!! Excellent flavor and visual presentation by design!!! Highly recommend!!!

If you haven't been here, you NEED to go ASAP! This place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We've tried 6 different items and they have all tasted exactly as described on the menu. You won't be disappointed!

First of all, I love the name of this place since vampires are my favorite creature. Secondly, who doesn't love a low calorie dessert with tons of flavor. They use shaved ice instead of ice cream so there's no lactose problem for people either. I've tried a few of their tropical flavors and today I had s'mores, which was a nice chocolate shaved ice cover with chocolate syrup, graham cracker, crumbs, and marshmallows.

What a perfect icy treat. It's a snow cone, but with yummies added to it. Mine was coffee based with cream, caramel, toffee bits and whipped cream on the top. So good. It is lighter than ice cream so you do not feel so full afterwards. Service was great and prices were about $5 for a small and $7 for a large. Go check out this kitschy decorated refreshing treat.

Not impressed. Would much rather have a ice cream sundae. The large is $9.00 and the small is $7.00 which I thought was very high for a product that tasted like fluffy ice. The establishment wasn't the cleanest inside. The sundaes came out very fast. There was only one other family of four there. This was their first time and also weren't impressed.

Quality dessert options seemed to be a bit lacking in the Clearwater area, so I was excited when I found this spot on Yelp. The employees were super friendly. We got the Butterbeer Shaved Snow. It was very very good. It was light and refreshing. If you've never had it's it's like shaved ice cream that I've had at boba tea shops before. It's similar to ice cream, just lighter since it's shaved. If you're in the area looking for dessert, this is a great choice!

WOW. This place is worth the drive if you are looking for a new and addictive. Shaved ice but not....ice cream? I saw their sign when we were driving to the beach so we excitedly went back for dessert Friday evening. I had the Banana Cream one and my husband had the Strawberry Shortcake one. It was amazing. They told us about the sampler plates while we were enjoying our desserts so we had to come back on Saturday evening. We each got a four sampler plate and they were all amazing. I especially liked the butterfinger one. Next time we are in town I will get a full size butterfinger one. read more

Interesting. So we did to go which I think led to the lackluster experience. To me icecream is always to go (creature of habit). The images show these photos of these beautiful desserts which made the selection a no brainier, s'mores. We purchased a regular (12 oz - approx $6) and it was tasty, not too much chocolate,syrup or crumb like when you dine in (from what I can tell by others images) -slightly disappointed. This icecream is super light so a regular is truly for one person. We shared it (as we always share - it's our thing)... and we're like "ok where do we go for icecream?" Right after haha. It's almost like eating air. We will probably be back at some point to dine in and each have our own. read more

Wow! This place is awesome. I got the "Vampire Penguin" and my boyfriend got the "Tuxedo." Very unique flavors with a light and fluffy texture. As we were finishing up the ladies working were excited to tell us about their new flavors they're releasing soon. They very graciously whipped us up a small serving of their soon-to-be released Key Lime flavor. Oh, my god, it was like eating a fluffy, icy, key lime pie. The staff really seems to love their jobs and it shows. Customer service gets 5 stars as well as the product! read more

Wow! My son is so picky, he didn't want the cotton candy flavor we ordered him. Jessica went out of her way to make sure he got what he wanted. I was surprised they had a branch here! I went to the one in Berkeley before it closed, cuz obv operating these stores in California is definitely more competitive. But here, it's like a taste away from home! There's many options of snow ice or you can make your own. The texture is fluffy snow, and definitely worth a try! Staff is always friendly and attentive as well. read more

I'm so glad that I finally tried this place after wanting to for the past year! It is less filling as compared to ice cream. Kind of hard to describe, but I'd say it has the consistency of kinetic sand. Lots of different flavor combinations and options to choose from. Staff is friendly and the presentation is beautiful. Definitely a family friendly place and kids seem to love it. My mom and I love this place and we've been back a few times. So far I've tried the almond joy, orange dreamiscle, and dulce de leche. Stopped in onmy sons birthday. I ordered banana cream pie but there wasn't any sliced bananas like pictured. Hubby ordered a creamsicle type but wasn't any orange in it, my son got pina colada which was perfect! My husband and I have been here two times and absolutely love it! It's a great option if you have a sweet tooth/craving, but don't want something super filling and high in calories. Delicious! If you are looking for a cold, sweet treat that is tasty and different, check out VP. The snow is light and creamy. Good flavors that are not overpowering. I got the VP. I love red beans and green tea. Perfect combo with the strawberries. My girls both ordered the taro ice, condensed milk and lychee popping boba. It was just as delicious! Tastes like a combination of air and sawdust. Our party ordered four different concoctions and none of them tasted good. The descriptions and pictures looked delicious. Amazing! It's the best flavored snow you'll ever have. We had the Halo Halo - which was a deconstructed version but still incredible, and and plain orange which reminded me of an orange creamsicle.Ahh, good memories. Definitely worth the drive. I found this place when it first opened and have been in love ever since. The desserts taste amazing and I found out they are a lot less calories than ice cream. They are so cool looking you can't help but take pictures. The shop has a fun decorating theme and the staff is so helpful. I have gone there with people that have food allergies and the staff knows exactly which ones to recommend. Every time someone visits, I take them here and they love it. They do birthday parties and school groups too. I celebrated my birthday here. read more

This place is a true hidden gem!! If you are interested in dessert give this place a visit. I am still not sure how to describe the offerings. Shaved deliciousness of flavorful creations! We had the Dulce de Leche and absolutely wonderful. The staff was super friendly and offered us a sample of the Strawberry cheesecake and it was so great!! I have been here multiple times, and while the ice cream is great, I've found on many occasions the service is lacking. On this most recent attempt to visit, we came in on a Sunday at 7:40 and we were immediately informed by the cashier that he was the only employee working and that he was going to be too busy to take our order before they closed, which was at 8. He said we could wait to "try to have our order taken" after he finished doing what he needed to do, but couldn't guarantee that he would take our order by 8, and if he didn't get it in before 8 they would close and not take our order. So all in all, we drove 20 minutes to this restraunt to be told that we'd have to wait 20 minutes to most likely not have our order taken and told to leave. Safe to say we just left immediately after that, very disappointed. read more

I had the Snow Tiger (Thai tea) shaved snow which came with an Oreo topping. I was skeptical of the Oreo at first.... but the first bite was bursting with flavor from the Thai tea and the Oreo mixed with the condensed milk. Absolutely amazing. read more

Truly the best dessert option in the St Pete area. I've had their taro, Thai tea, chocolate & peanut butter flavors but their Strawberry Cheesecake option reigns supreme. Lighter than ice cream in both calories & texture, but definitely satisfies a sweet tooth. It's also not sickly sweet like some ice cream combination places can be. read more

This was a very nice place. Had games for kids and a cool display. And a very unique display of penguins. I got the Dulce De Leche flavor and my friend got a Strawberry Cheesecake both of these flavors tasted exactly the same. It was all ice it almost tasted like snow with some bananas in it. This was very expensive 15.00 for 2 for just some ice in it. This shaved ice took about 15 minutes to make. There was also only one person making it, so that looked very unprofessional. There floor is also very sticky and dirty. read more

They have specialty combos of the desserts that are perfect pairings and they do have an option where you can design your own small w/1 top for $4 and I think the large you get 2 tops but don't quote me on that one. I designed my own [mango with watermelon topping]. Next time I'll probably pick something out of the perfect pairings menu. FYI I thought the small was HUGE and I can't imagine what a large is like. read more
