Hello Yelp Family, So I NEED to write this review so you do…read morenot get taken advantage of like I did by this CPA who is in San Pedro, CA . He was referred to me by someone I know and him being local, I decided to give him a try. My individual tax return I believe was very straightforward as I am single woman, and I only claim myself. I usually pay anywhere from $200 to $250 for individual tax return fees from previous CPAs. However, Mr. Moore originally quoted me $730 which is truly ridiculous. Even my friend who is married and has children and a wife to claim told me that he doesn't pay $730 for a tax return. I asked Mr. Moore to reduce the $730 as I believe this is extraordinary charge and he was willing to drop it in half to $365. I called HR Block and they again confirmed what I knew to be true which is individual tax returns for a single person like me should not exceed $250. I presented this information to Mr. Moore again and basically he got defensive and accused me of being ungrateful. I always go by my gut feeling on people and when I met him, I did not get a good vibe as evidenced by his dark, dingy office and his bedside manner. Also for my my mother's trust tax return which was again pretty simple, he charged me $300 when other CPAs have charged me $225 or lower. Life is about learning lessons, and I truly have learned mine by knowing not to ever seek Mr. Moore's CPA services. Please be aware! It is sad when we live in a world where people take advantage of people's goodness and kindness. He obviously if he reads my review will disagree, but trust me I am speaking truth. I have no reason to lie. I am an upholding citizen and a professional psychotherapist who values truth, integrity, kindness, and gratitude, but I refuse to allow myself or other consumers to be taken advantage of.
