EFM was the company called when my vehicle was impounded under the care of another driver. The…read morevehicle was left unlocked in the facility which has no surveillance system. The owner of EFM has stated that he personally took the brand new battery from under the hood and did not return it, my license plates as well as a number of other personal effects and power tools are also missing from the vehicle which was entrusted to him directly by the RCMP and at no point, unattended, except while in his care and I did not learn of the theft until I had paid him $300.00 cash to retrieve my personal belongings from the car. He then "disposed" of the car when I was unable to pay the remainder of the impound fee outright and claimed that he sent it to Farbrook Auto for scrap but they have clearly stated that they did not have anything to do with the vehicle. The office was locked when I arrived at approximately 11:00 on a weekday and when he did arrive I was forced to wait at his drivers side window while he made 3 phone calls attempting to locate his staff. When asked for an itemized invoice the owner refused to issue any form of paperwork and said that the dollar amount owed should suffice. He did not deduct the $300.00 already paid, claimed that he did not accept cash after previously accepting it and refused any kind of rate breakdown on the bill. When I requested a complete itemized invoice as well as impound records and proof of surveillance and disposal of the car he became agitated and argumentative and proceeded to bump me with his car mirror repeatedly while attempting to drive away. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy and suggest staying far clear of this alarmingly shady enterprise!
