Batteries do not last long in Florida if you keep the car parked for too long in the heat. I was so impressed with the staff and their professional way of doing things. I came without an appt. and they took my car immediately. Little did I know that this particular car's computer codes needed to be completely reprogrammed if the battery is replaced. It has a complex computer system that is actually more work than a Mercedes or Porsche. I was realistic in my expectations and could not believe that they fixed it in less than an hour. The front desk staff went above and beyond while I sat quietly reading my mail in their immaculate waiting room. A special thank you to the mechanic who went out of his way and had the knowledge and skills to fix the complex system. I honestly thought that there was a chance that I may have had to take it to the Audi dealer for further repair. I could not believe that the car was done so quickly and done perfectly. Shame on me for living so close to them all of these years and not knowing that they were a 5 star operation. So honest, professional, friendly and true teamwork. Thank you for everything and I will be back if I need anything on any of my cars. YOU are the best there is in Fort Myers. I have tried some of your competitors and they do not even come close. I honestly wish we had taken my car somewhere that would actually listen. I am a travel nurse and when we were just in MS, my car was acting funny and I had a very trusted and reputable mechanic see about my issue. I was fully prepared to let him fix it, but the part wasn't available for several days and I needed to head back to Fort Myers for my assignment. He was able to "patch" my car, tell me what needed to be done for the mechanic back in FL, and get me safely back here. Imagine my surprise when my husband took our car to Scotty's and Ken totally disregarded everything he was told about my car. Instead, he charged us $500+ to replace oxygen sensors that were UNDER a year old and didn't replace the catalytic converter that needed to be replaced per my home mechanic...even after my husband told him that when we had the oxygen sensors replaced, they could never get the check engine code to clear. He instead, insisted that he replaced them bc that's what the code told him to do!! So, it was no surprise that less than 24hrs later, my check engine light came back on! When my husband called Scotty's on speaker phone, Ken was again who we had to deal with. He was SO dismissive as if we were wasting his time, then mansplained us, but finally agreed to look at my car 2 days from now!! I am livid!!!! If we go there and they make things right, I will gladly update this review to reflect that, but if these two encounters are any indication of how Thursday is about to play out, I'm going to lose it!!! Especially knowing that what needs to be fixed runs anywhere from $400-$1k!!!! Just a warning, Fort Myers friends!! If you walk in and Ken comes to help you, it's in your best interest to turn around and walk out the door!!

AJ Automotive is the best independent auto shop in the local Fort Myers area…read more Shortly after relocating from Manassas, VA to Fort Myers in May 2017, my wife and I had experienced a significant upsell attempt by the Service Manager at the AutoNation Toyota Fort Myers Service Center on our 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid with approximately 25K miles. We had taken our Camry Hybrid in for an oil change and tire rotation. Within minutes after the vehicle was raised on a service rack, the Service Manager came to us and stated that we needed all new brakes. He added that the work could be done while the other work was being performed. Of course, the brake service was going to cost at least an additional $650 dollars which he added could increase if any additional issues surfaced once the work began. We declined the brake service recommendation and later asked a resident in our condominium building who owned a local used car dealership where he serviced his vehicles. He stated he took his vehicles for sale to AJ Automotive located at 15580 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33908 to be serviced before he placed them on his sales lot. He added that he also took his own personal cars to AJ Automotive and was always extremely pleased with the quality of work and that the service and repair costs were very fair. I subsequently made my first appointment at AJ Automotive in July 2017 in order to have the brakes on our Camry Hybrid inspected. After a complete safety inspection, AJ stated that the disc pads had very minimal wear and certainly not a candidate for replacement. I swore that I would never have any of my Toyota vehicles serviced by the AutoNation Toyota Fort Myers Service Center. Based on this appointment, my wife and I have used AJ to service both our Toyota Camry Hybrid and Toyota Highlander. Upon trading in our Toyota Highlander for a Honda CRV, we continued with AJ servicing our vehicles. They are extremely knowledgeable on an array of foreign and domestic car manufacturers and will ensure your vehicle is maintained to their factory specifications and standards. Recently, while my wife was driving our 2012 Camry Hybrid, the engine light illuminated on the car's dash board. She immediately pulled the car over and called me regarding the situation. Since she was only a few blocks away from AJ's Automotive shop, I suggested that she drive the vehicle directly to his location. As a frequent customer, AJ has always been very accommodating on allowing us to drop off our vehicles for unscheduled appointments, especially for emergency situations. After completing the service request, we left our Camry Hybrid and returned home. A few hours later, AJ called and told us that the "carbon filter box" on the vehicle's gas tank fill line failed and a new one would need to be purchased and installed. AJ has always been very transparent when it comes to the cost of parts and labor. He never has tried to up sell or pressure us on our car repair needs. AJ never over promises on scheduled repairs, but strives for on time completion and excels in providing exceptional quality service. I have had Lou's work on my cars 7 times spending over $4,000. I am a former mechanic, and really…read morehoped to be a loyal customer. However, now it's clear that he does not stand behind his work, and that I cannot trust him to be fair. On 12/19/24 Lou's made many repairs to my 1989 BMW 325i which included drain & flush of the differential fluid. The Lou's shop order I approved noted that GL-5 gear oil would be used for the differential, as is specified by BMW. When I saw GL-1 was staged for this job and asked Lou about it he said GL-1 equals or exceeds GL-5. However, the American Petroleum Institute application guidelines for GL-1 vs. GL-5 gear oil indicate that GL-1 does NOT equal or exceed GL-5 gear oil. There was severe gear noise returning home after this work. I was concerned that driving back to Lou's would cause damage so I had to change the differential oil to GL-5 myself. This eliminated the gear noise. The 12/19/2024 charges for the differential included: gear oil $154.90, labor $159.99 and a diagnostic fee of $159.99. The diagnostic fee should not have been charged as this fee was paid previously when this work was diagnosed on 11/13/2024. The differential work should be refunded since the wrong oil was used. I attempted to contact Lou Moralez 3 times by phone, twice by email, and once by postal mail to request this be refunded. We talked twice by phone, he refused to refund the differential work. Now 3 weeks later he has not responded to my last letter. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
