Last year I brought my 2007 Explorer in as it was making a engine noise upon start up. They looked at it and said I should bring to a dealer. It was the exhaust gasket and was a real big job at the dealer. This is a father & son shop that has been here for many years. Needed new front brake rotors and dropped it off Wed afternoon saying no rush. Mr Vance called me Thursday morning to tell me it needed all 4 rotors & pads. It was done later that afternoon for under $600. I was only charged 2 hrs labor @ $70 per. No bullshit fees added to my bill, no shop charges or telling me it needed more work than necessary. This is a honest & fair mechanic shop! Will be bringing both cars there from now on and wish they could work on my Harley. read more

Great family owned and HONEST business. Have old work van and needed ball joints. Skeptical as just moved to the area but a local and reviews recommended them. I am very pleased to say the reviews and referral was spot on! Van drove like it should after, no more bouncing or issues there. Fair prices and decent time returned. As another reviewer commented, a Woman first spoke to me at front desk and was not real friendly at first and kind of confused me as quoted several different prices. These guys were awesome!!!! I was in the market for a camper van to take on a cross country road trip. I called and asked if they could take a quick look at the vehicle before I purchased it, since I know nothing about engines. They took the vehicle right in, though I had no appointment. They looked everything over, way more than I expected, drove it around, and came back with their report and helpful advice. The rate was beyond reasonable. I don't live in Florida, but if I did I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to bring my vehicle here. read more

I have taken both my mercury and my Toyota to this place. Both times I expected to have to do ball joints on my car. The first time I was quoted 20% less than their competitor and They told me that honest truth about my car and I ended up only needing alignments on both. Couldn't ask for a better place. I took my Nissan 350Z that was overheating I must say I was worried sick about the problem and cost..but after talking with the mechanic I was pleasantly surprised by the cost as well as the problem..felt relived being a woman it's hard to find a HONEST shop that doesn't take advantage of women.... been to several mechanics to try and fix various problems namely, the infamous jeep death wobble on my wrangler. Vance's fixed the death wobble problem and for almost $400 less than the last mechanic quoted me which would have been 2 hours away bc I could not find anyone who knew how to properly fix it. I live approx 45 minutes away but I would not trust my car or money to anyone else in this area as I have been to many. I found Vance's through my dad as he couldn't believe that they returned money to him when he had something fixed and it turned out to be less than expected. They are honest and knowledgable. There was a slight issue with an older woman who answered the phone one day and she was not pleasant... Bypass her and talk to Bill or Ron... Im glad I didn't let her deter me bc this is a great mechanic! read more

I had another automotive shop tell me I needed extensive work done to my car. I went to Vance's for another opinion and found out that the majority of the work did not need to be done and the work that did was half the price. Very disappointing experience.... We are new to the area and looking for a local mechanic to service our vehicles...After reading all these reviews I really thought that Vance's would be that place, needless to say our hopes were quickly dashed from the minute my wife and Mom first entered the door, they were greeted with indifference (basically ignored for the first few minutes) when finally acknowledged the first thing asked was if they had an appointment... She explained that this was her first time visiting and was directed to the office where again she was told they usually only see folks who have appointments which is understandable, that's not the complaint here... After describing the potential problem the car was having and without having a mechanic even look at the car to verify the report they were then informed again "an appointment was needed" and told they may not be able to do the repairs there, they were finally referred to another shop much further away but in a very nonchalant way... The whole reason for this review is to point out that their customer service needs some work, not a very welcoming experience for a first time and potentially recurring customer... Maybe indeed they do excellent work but I guess I'll never know.... Don't intend to return for a second time.... read more

I was buying a used Corolla and needed a mechanic shop to check it out. It was Dec. 31st and by the time we drove to the owner's house and asked her to take the car to the nearby mechanic, it was almost 4:45. I had called them ahead and requested them to keep the shop open. My whole experience with them was "simply awesome". They took 15 to 20 min and told me that Brakes have usual wear and tear. The best thing is after looking at it, they told me that it is free and I don't need to pay them anything. They were honest and kind and "Not Greedy". I was happy and I paid the fair price to them because they stayed late and kept the shop open on the new year's eve for me, even when they knew that we will not be their regular customers as we live 2 hours away from Lehigh Acres. Wish I could find such shop closer to where I live. read more
