Very bad service. I brought my 2014 Audi A5 in due to Check Engine Light. They charged me $202.34 for Diagnostics. They determined that I needed to replace the PCV valve for $705 and an additional $42.69 for "Shop Supplies". They had my car for 3 days and my Check Engine Light came back on the very next day. When I brought my car back in, they wanted to charge me another $150 for another diagnostic test - smoke test. They are way too busy and should be certain what the problem is before replacing parts. I paid $954.67 and I still have the Check Engine Light on. I will never go there again. read more

I Found George's Complete Auto on line about 3 years ago. I needed service on my 2013 Fiat 500, something to do with the stick shift, needed bushing and so forth. First let me start out, Tom Paul & Ryan are great professional servicemen. They called me to let me know what was wrong with my Fiat, how long it was going to take to get parts and repair. Gave me an estimate of the repairs, parts, and service. A few days later my Fiat was ready for pick up. This man took advantage of my mom when she brought our van in to fix the ac. He "checked" the car and without telling us he "flushed" the ac unit and charged us $565, without our consent !!!!! and the AC STILL DIDNT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on top of that he still wanted to charge us 2000 for "fixing" it. This guy would not give the car back unless my mom paid for the "flush" out that we did NOT AGREE TO!! How can you preform a service and expect someone to dish out $500+ without their approval and STILL say it needs another 2000 worth of parts to work ?!?! They took me right in and plugged the hole, You know was on the road in less than 10 minutes. I really hate having my car repaired... It's always more expensive than you like and trying to figure out alternate transportation etc. is a pain. Having said that, George's complete car care does a good job of keeping you informed on the price and time your car will be down. I took my car in for a small transmission leak which they showed me was on the bottom and rear of the transmission and required 2 pans to be removed, Which would drain most the transmission fluid, so we upgraded to a complete transmission flush which made sense under the circumstances. This way I avoided the scheduled transmission service a few months from now. They returned the car on time, all good I recommend this company. Honest and good work. read more

Being new to the area, it's difficult to know where to go when you need your truck repaired. When my husband told the tow truck driver to take his vehicle to George's, he said that it's one of only two places in the area he recommends. A good start. My husband's truck is an older model Toyota Tacoma. They run forever and he has mileage on that truck. But like all vehicles, eventually something needs repair. He had it in to two other shops previously. Estimates were $5000 and $3000 from them. At that point we said we'd run the truck until it doesn't run. When it failed to start, he had it taken to George's. They were quick with the repair and cost us just under $1000. When he asked about the other recommendations from before, they told him that it's an older truck and, for now, it's fine. Just what we had figured. Thank you for the repair work and your honesty. I always thought highly of George's so when I needed to have new front brakes installed on my 2018 Volkswagen Atlas, I went to Georges. The service manager I dealt with was professional and polite. Georges indicated I would need new brake pad, rotors and calibers; they quoted me a price of just over $1,800. I thought that sounded really high. I called Volkswagen and they quoted me $1,400, and questioned why I would need new calibers. I also contacted Firestone (on Skyline), I brought the car in to be inspected. They indicated I didn't need new calibers and they could replace the brake pads and rotors for a total cost of $729. I had Firestone do the work and the car drives just they way it should with no issues. While you want to support your local businesses, it's hard to do when they are priced so much higher. I hope this was a one-time issue with Georges, for Georges sake. read more

It's 6/27/22, last July I brought in my work truck and wanted all new front brakes, rotors, calipers, rear brakes and drums, plus brake fluid flush. Price was high, around $1400, but I wanted it all done as I drive to Sanibel and Captiva daily and need to be sure that the truck runs and stops top notch. I stopped in last month about some brake noise. They took time to drive it around the block and agreed there is a noise and checked the fronts via the lift, tires still on. They said it may be just a pebble or something between the brake and the shield behind rotor and it will eventually come out; if not come back as it was late on a friday. I agreed. Today, I stop in, staff is nice and accommodating like first two experiences. I wait for a bit, they put the truck on lift took off tires, and explained to me that they didn't replace the rear brakes, only brake drum last year at my requests as it still had life on them back then. Then the mechanic starts to disassemble my rear brakes. Then front desk guy says they can replace them for $500+. I reminded him that I came in for all this to be done last year if anything needed to be done or not; I wanted everything new. He then offered to warranty the drums, plus $75 off if I would let them do the job. I said, you guys did a real good job last year (sarcasm). So, I will go to another shop and since I can't trust what I spent all this money on, I will have it done right with everything new that is needed elsewhere. I spoke with them but they felt justified and unwilling to change their charge. Was driving to Orlando on a Sunday and had to get a stuck brake caliper replaced along with pads and rotors. My regular mechanic is closed on weekends so went to George's for the repair. The guys that worked there are fantastic and I have no issues with the employees or my treatment as a customer. My only problem is the price charged was $800 for one rear brake repair pads, rotors, calipers system flush and then replacement of the other rear caliper is about the same price I would pay for a all 4 being done at my regular mechanic. I had to pay because I was in a jam and they do warranty their work for 3 years 36,000 miles which is nice. So that is why I rate them 3 stars instead of 5. read more

I am new to the area and was looking for a good shop I could trust. I happened to stumble across George's and ran into a guy named John from WV. He is quite a dynamic character! He loves to talk, and explains everything about the work being performed and pricing. They back up their work for 3 years too! Who does that? It's like getting a new car warranty on the parts and labor. If you want to be treated like old school and get a fair price, then you can't go wrong by doing business with these great guys! I took my car in because it had a mild jerk while driving. They flushed the fuel system for $200 and it didn't help. They rode with me with a monitor hooked to see if they could find any misfires and found none. They suggested I keep driving for a while and see if it got worse to make it easier to detect. After a few months it wasn't worse but still happening. I took it in again and they told me I needed 6 new coils, 6 new spark plugs and a new computer $3,000. They assured me that would fix the problem so I said go ahead. A week later after completing the work they called me and said they completed the engine work but that didn't fix the problem. I took the car for a test drive and it ran the same as before. They suggested it was a torque converter but even though they advertise to be transmission experts the told me they don't work on transmissions. So I have over $3,000 in repairs with no benefit. They refused to discount the wasted repair nor would they make the replaced parts available to me. All I get is the run around when I ask why they wouldn't consider the torque converter as a possible cause on the front end. read more

They had the car for days for a brake job and power window problem. They started by quoting approx $400-500. Each day it went up to finally $2500. My son told me the power window had a plastic tab broken. The window motor was running. They replaced the window motor then told me " we glued the plastic piece but it may not hold" $600 just for that when it didn't need a motor. Huge rip off. Never again and one I know will ever go there. Funny. It's months later and they never answered this review. First time and last time, strictly came in for oil change, after initial shock of needed maintenance received a second opinion. 1) Flush brake fluids- $90 not needed , clean and had been done a few months ago. 2) Power steering service- $110 not needed 3) Fuel Injection System Service - $120 not needed 4) R&R oil pan- $623 - possibly, wait and see for developments since could be due to R& R valve Cover gaskets . (will know later after engine is cleaned due to oil) with kudos for George's wanting to engine clean but they could have oil pan gasket work delayed and monitor instead of immediately replace . 5) R&R Spark plugs + R&R Valve Cover agree. 6) Additional problem found under the hood Front CV Axle shaft leaking - opted to repair, my discretion, never found by George's shop. read more

We went there for their $17.00 special on an oil change that ended up costing me $75.00. My last oil change at the dealership cost me $50.00. The technician at Georges showed me my shocks which he said needed replacing because they were leaking. Georges estimate was a little over $2000.00. I took the vehicle to the dealership and they concurred the shocks need replacing but their estimate was $1700.00. Wow, $300.00 more than the dealership!! This is most definitely a 5 star company. After moving to another state, you have to do all the work of finding so many new places to do business with. The one everyone dreads the most is a mechanic. There are so many crooked ones out there. We feel extremely lucky to have found George's. Our air conditioner went out in June in SW Florida, we were panicking. Are you kidding me? It's hot as Hades and our air is out and it's a Friday. OMG! So we call George and to our good fortune, we are told to bring it in at 1PM. The place is really nice and clean and the people that work there are so friendly. They took a look at our car and gave us a price to fix it. We agreed and they even gave us a ride home. At home, we got a very unexpected call that they had found a lower price on the part we needed and that our bill just decreased by nearly $100. WHAT? This was just crazy! We were happy and settled in to watch a movie while our car was being repaired and for less than we were originally quoted! Before the movie was over, we got a call that it was fixed and they were on their way to pick us up again. Wow! Service. Matt was a great help that day! George's Auto became our go to man that day. We went back another time for an oil change, tire rotation, etc. They were again awesome. George himself gave hubby a ride there and back while they went over the whole vehicle. When they were done, they have us a full printout of everything that needed to be done - along with which one were most important - and a cost for each one. I feel so comfortable with this business. You just know they are not trying to rip you off and that they are doing the repairs that are needed for a fair price. read more

I had driven from Chicago to Cape Coral Florida and my check engine light came on. I have been to Goodyear and Meineke to have a diagnostic and they both told me that it was probably nothing and to get a new gas cap. After a month with a new gas cap nothing had changed. I cannot believe that they did not do a further check up. I went to Georges and they had done the diagnostic and had told me that my entire exhaust system needed a diagnostic for $127.00 I left my car there to get a call back an hour later stating that it was only an unplugged hose.
