I'm happy with the improvements I've seen in his behavior after class, even if most of the lesson's impact fades away within a day or two. Thankfully, another class is right there on the horizon! Tuition is reasonable, and there are plenty of available time slots for the various programs. Attendance in any time slot is *not* mandatory, at least for the Tiny Tigers program: you're free to bring your student to any available class for their program, throughout the week, depending on your schedule and flexibility. That's a nice touch that's not always offered at other dojangs and dojos. The staff at World Class Martial Arts somehow manage to corral more than two dozen kids at the same time, hold their attention for a half hour, and even impart some lessons (both physical and mental), with a reasonable amount of success. Sure, sometimes a child (often mine! haha!) will require some individual attention to get them to follow instructions and get them back on track, but the "sabom" (instructors) here are quick to notice distracted kids and move to intercept them, often dividing the troublemakers into groups separate from the more attentive students, and giving them personalized instruction. World Class Martial Arts Taekwondo was the winner for us. Their space is pretty fixed in size, but I wish the changing area was organized better. There is always lots of congestion in this area making it hard to get into and out of uniform. Due to rain and cold we prefer to change there than to wear the uniform in the weather and in the car.

This review if for the kids classes…read more This is a commercialized Martial Arts business focused on having clients buy new weapons every quarter. In addition, plan to pay quarterly for new belts and testing. The testing I've seen is the same for the past 2 belts so not sure what my kid learned new that required 2 new belts when he did the same requirements for each belt. Parents can't wait inside to sit and watch their kiddos. They have a zoom that you can join but it's one camera and you can barely see if it's your own child so no point in the zoom. When asked why parents can't wait inside, especially in the winter and rainy months, they told me that having all the parents would exceed the building's occupancy capacity... this is questionable as there is plenty of space. I was also told to not distract students. An easy solution is to not black out your windows so that parents standing outside can spread out and observe from outside. Another solution is rotate which days parents can come in. Tues / Thursday can have 1/2 parents observe from inside while other 1/2 observe from outside on Tuesdays and rotate on Thursdays. The only way to watch your child is through the double doors which needs to be cleared so people can go in and out. Most parents are unable to observe and are left waiting inside their vehicles for 30 - 40 minutes. Parking is also difficult. I regret signing a membership.

They have taught her self confidence, pride, discipline, and endurance. She started out shy and very introverted, and is now very commanding of presents but in a good way. I have been to a lot of gyms and I can tell you first hand, the owner and staff are terrible…read more Owner knows absolutely nothing about customer service and hard to believe he can run a business. Ask for a tour of his office and I think you could understand my point. I don't think the floors have ever seen a mop and dusting isn't a thing. Okay equipment and there are always broken pieces with signs on them and some of them have duct tape or black tape on them. There are some awesome people that go there and work out but if you ask them if there was a new gym in the vicinity they would all go. It's only a convenient factor right now. The gym is Super overpriced for what you get. Can't wait for someone to build another gym right next door. Make it amazing please and then we could say bye to the old and hello to the new. Oh and please have an amazing owner who actually works out and is out on the floor with high energy and positive and not a smoker.

I had been looking for a martial arts school since I moved to Vancouver, WA from CA. I've trained…read morein martial arts prior and knew the type of school I wanted to be a part of. I visited a few jiu jitsu schools both in Portland and Vancouver, but struggled in finding the right school and instructor. I wanted a school where the instructor is knowledgeable, skilled, patient, humble, respectful and effectively communicates techniques. Justin Bendsneyder exemplifies all these characteristics. He is an excellent instructor that truly cares about his students and teaching them proper jiu jitsu skills and techniques. Equally important for me was the overall vibe of the school and the students training there. I wanted to train hard, but didn't want to join a place that had a "bro" mentality with people that have a chip on their shoulder. This isn't the case at Inertia - everyone was nice, friendly, and there to learn with no attitudes. It is a welcoming atmosphere for all; beginners as well as advanced practitioners. I was very happy to find Inertia Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Justin B and highly recommend it to anyone looking to both get in shape & learn jiu jitsu in a positive environment.

When you sign up to join, you sign up for Justin to be your coach, so you learn directly from him. Perhaps what is most telling is that my original plan was to take up a different martial art. However, after observing how Justin taught his students, it became instantly clear to me that I had to seize the opportunity to become a student of Justin's. Truly gifted martial arts instructors can be hard to come by. I realized that this rare and special opportunity was right before me and so I approached Justin [he is very approachable!] and told him that I wanted to learn from him. That happened about a year ago and since then has been one of the best experiences of my life. Justin breaks down techniques and move sets in a way that make it clear and simple to apply, are mechanically sound, and reliable under pressure. The way he communicates that though is what initially caught my attention. Justin has the rare ability to distill down the complex into the simple -- yet in great detail. For me, great communication contains words and instruction yet goes far beyond that to also include patience, respect, the ability to understand things from the student's perspective, always being positive, being a good listener, encouraging questions, demonstrating moves from different angles until you get it, explaining not just the 'what' but the 'why' behind it; the list goes on. Humility, integrity, self-respect, respect for others... Justin leads by example. Always positive, downright friendly, and encouraging to make the learning and mat work fun! The way he carries himself is imprinted throughout Inertia BJJ and as a consequence there is a strong bond of trust, respect and camaraderie among all students. Again, this makes training fun and rewarding because everyone shares the same mindset of wanting to help your fellow training partner. Respect and friendship; you make others better and they in turn make you better.
