Being a business owner myself, I never ever ever write bad reviews, as I see how negatively they can affect a business, but in this case, I feel that it is pertinent to ensure that reformation takes place in the crooked sales environment that Vandergriff Honda has created. Heres the scoop: I am a meagerly-funded college student living in Oklahoma, I was selling my vehicle in Decatur Tx, once I made the deal, I had a friend drive me all the way from Decatur to Arlington to Vandergriff to discuss the deals that were set forth in front of me over phone "I won't miss a deal over a couple hundred bucks" ~ Zachary Barnes (who said this to my father over the phone). I get there, look at the car I was really in to, only to find out that it had been smoked in. Now, I get why you wouldn't advertise to billions of people on the internet that it had been smoked in, but if you have a serious buyer coming in from 273 miles away, you might mention that the car has been smoked in. So After telling them no on the smoked-in vehicle, I ask about the other vehicles. After seeing/hearing about a vehicle that sounds really nice, they pull out the car and it has a flat. Now, mind you, to be 100% transparent, this is 10pm at night, 1 hour after they close, but they did agree to see me and help me find a car, we start speaking on the price of this vehicle. Apparently, if you're paying cash (understandable to some extent, I realize you make money on the potential financing) then there is no haggling, and a "listen man, do you want the car or not" ~Dwayne Thompson. So, I was pushed into the decision of signing an agreement to buy a car that I had never test driven before (as it had a flat), and that I hadn't fully inspected (as it was 10pm, and everyone was rushing to get home). I walk out after they said we couldn't make the deal even if I agreed to pay the 'agree'd upon' price after I looked over the car in the morning. Ridiculous. Then salesman Ryan gives me a ride to my friend's house all the way in Fort Worth as I am stranded at this point (you deserve a promotion for being the only civil, thoughtful, and honest person there). After procuring a ride back to Vandergriff in the morning (I could've paid a $50 Uber, but luckily, I know a couple of people in the DFW area), I am told that the vehicle that I was looking at the night before that had the tire replaced, was now going to be $800 dollars more for a 182 pt. inspection, and a few other service fees (no haggling allowed). Apparently, the flat tire (because it was entirely my fault) was going to be free :). (NOT HAVING FLAT TIRES SHOULD NOT BE A SELLING POINT, THE PRICE OF REPAIRING YOUR FLAT SHOULDN'T BE ON THE CUSTOMER TO BEGIN WITH). So I walk out again, I don't deal bullcrap. I sell snow cones, only a few 10k off from a car, but I wouldn't charge the customer for a hole in the cup if I gave it to them with a hole in the cup. I make them a new snow cone, and in fact, I probably give them a $5 gift card for the trouble of the snow cone dripping all over them. If that isn't clear enough, You don't go to a dealership and they make it out to seem like you are responsible for paying for the flat that has been on the car for 2 weeks. Thats on the dealer. To summarize, Vandergriff Honda (except Ryan)(especially Zachary) define the terms/phrases/clichés: run-around, used-car salesmen, and sleazy. And after all of this, because my dad got involved in some weird way that I didn't ask for, and called personally to gripe a little, after I was already a $50 uber away from Vandergriff, you guys call me and tell me that you could maybe try to get to the original price (before the $800 tack-on)(not definite). Not only did you define the terms listed above that are synonymous with shady car salesman, you also showed how (dis)respectful you are to new, young car buyers. So you'll give my dad that price after he talks to you over the phone, but not me whenever I am standing in front of you? Preying on the weak much? I'm not trying to blame all of my problems on you guys these past couple of days, but you definitely could've treated me like I was a human being. Maybe some sympathy for a college student? Maybe some sympathy for someone traveling out of state? Maybe some sympathy for someone nearly stranded in Dallas? Maybe some sympathy for the smoke, flat tire/service fee runaround? Maybe some sympathy for the price that you told me I would pay to walk out the door, that was actually $200 more than you said? The only sympathy I got was from Ryan. Thanks again man. Sorry folks for such a long review, but if you aren't a middle aged white male who has been in the car sales business (like my dad). You might get taken advantage of. For the sake of your sanity and wellbeing, find some people whose friendliness goes beyond the handshake introduction at the door. And no, I was not paid to do this review. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. When first purchasing the car from the dealer, they were overly nice and helpful. (Anyone would be knowing the amount of commission they're about to get) My service specialist was Chris and the manager I spoke to is Kyle. I started to have problems with my stereo since the car was purchased and I went in and spoke to Chris about this issue multiple times. Finally I had enough and it would barely work when the auto engine was on and they guessed it might have something to do with the battery,l or one of the wires, so without my knowledge, the battery actually failed the battery test and I was never brought aware of this matter until a couple weeks ago after my battery stopped working. They changed it free of charge which was about two years ago in 2021. Keeping that in mind, I never take my car anywhere else other than to Honda unless it's an emergency such as a flat tire, a tire blowout, or in this case a dead battery. Just recently my battery had died and I had a trusted company come to the house and fix it to make sure that it was still a good battery but they had said that the positive charge was loose causing my alternator to work extremely hard to power the car. A positive wire doesn't go loose by itself and the last people that touched my car was Honda. The trusted company that came made it aware to me that there's still 12 V of battery and it was my choice to go ahead and buy a new battery from them because I wanted to be on the safe side. Once I contacted Kyle and Chris, Kyle agreed completely with what the manager of the company was sharing about what happened with the battery of my car and Chris refused to speak to him. L Once I spoke to Kyle, it was like he completely forgot what him and the manager at the trusted company spoke about; and he started stating that it is not possible and I'm not making any sense. Honda was very defensive and did not take ownership for what happened or try to even explain. Fast forward, they ended up doing an alternator check which this all happened one month ago. Since last week my tire pressure has been up and down and it eventually went down almost all the way (18 PSI), I took it to discount tire to get it fixed and they couldn't fix it so they put my spare tire on and wrapped the tire with the nail in a discount tire bag. Today I went to the dealership to get my tire fixed because it had a big nail in it and Chris saw the bag the tire was in and stated "Well since you want to take your car to Discount Tire all the time just get your tires there" . Like I stated before, I've never taken my car anywhere else than the dealership to get all non emergency things done. He waited until I got there to let me know that my tires are not covered as well. If you want to read anything: Save your time and money and trust the low reviews, they're only nice until your NOT spending. Never have I felt more disrespected and looked down upon in this Arlington Honda dealership. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Vandergriff Honda regarding an ongoing starting issue with my 2022 Honda Pilot. The problem first began on February 14, 2025, and occurred several times per week. When I brought the vehicle in, I was advised that the battery needed to be replaced. I approved the repair, expecting the issue to be resolved. Unfortunately, the starting problem continued. On February 2, 2026, I returned to Vandergriff Honda with the same complaint and was again told the battery needed to be replaced. After paying for a second battery replacement, the issue still was not resolved. What is particularly frustrating is that there was a Honda service bulletin related to the starting issue, yet Vandergriff Honda initially refused to perform the bulletin. It was only after I contacted Honda Corporate and opened a case that the bulletin was finally addressed. Customers should not have to escalate issues to the manufacturer to have known service information considered. Even after involving Honda Corporate, I was offered only $1,000 in goodwill assistance toward a starter replacement estimated at $2,288.28. Given the history of repeated complaints, multiple battery replacements, and the existence of a service bulletin related to the starting concerns, I believe this repair should have been fully covered. To make matters worse, no clear explanation was ever provided regarding the root cause of the issue. It wasn't until I repeatedly emphasized that the starting system was still malfunctioning that a starter replacement was finally suggested. I appreciate Assistant Service Manager Maui Leong's professionalism, but the overall experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I trusted the dealership to properly diagnose and resolve a recurring problem, yet I spent over a year dealing with the same issue, incurred unnecessary expenses, and ultimately had to involve Honda Corporate to get meaningful attention. I hope Vandergriff Honda improves its diagnostic process, communication, and willingness to address known issues without requiring customers to fight for assistance. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend their service department. read more

I went to get my oil and filter change and had a bad experience with service agent Al Hipolito at Vandergriff Honda in Arlington, Texas. I specifically asked Al to check all fluids, especially brake fluid because I knew it was low. He confirmed they will add any fluid as part of the regular oil and filter change, including the brake fluid. They did not do this, even though in the multi inspection report he showed me before taking me to the cashier that they had. Two hours after leaving the dealership Al called me telling me to check if my lug nuts were loose on the tire in the back rear of driver side. First question I asked Al was why did you not do this before I left and how come you remembered two hours later? I checked my tire and it was completely flat, which prompted me to open my front hood. What I found was they did not add any brake fluid and nothing to the radiator reservoir, which I had specifically asked for. I have had experiences with agents trying to upsell items that are not needed, but I have never experienced a service agent calling me two hours later asking me to check my tires lug nuts to see if they are loose and misleading me in such a way that I could have gotten into a car accident. I ended up calling AAA and they filled up my tires, but Vandergrif Honda should never have let this car off the lot with that 10 PSI tire, which they knew about because it is in the report Al gave me. I do regular tire rotations and my tires are not that bad, but just because I did not want to replace them Al and his service agents let me drive off the lot with 10 PSI tire, loose lug nuts, low brake fluid, and low radiator reservoir. I will suggest you all avoid the service department at Vandergriff Honda and stay far away from Al Hipolito. read more

We hadn't even parked before we had a sales guy on top of us. I couldn't open my door to get out because one was standing in the way. Not to open the door for me, but to pounce on us! When I informed him of the vehicle we wished to see, he didn't even know his models. I had to bring up the information on my phone. We took the car for a test drive, where the salesman played on his phone the entire time and ignored us. When I went to merge onto the freeway to truly test the car's performance, he was annoyed with me and said he doesn't like to take cars on the freeway. Huh?! How can you give a true test drive without showing off the car?! We wanted to buy despite all this since Vandergriff had the only car I wanted within 20 miles but this salesman also got angry when we tried to negotiate. I've worked in the car industry and know most of these people receive a beating on the sales floor so I always try to be extra nice. But this guy acted like I was suppose to just hand him my money and keep my mouth shut. A few days later, I received a text from him saying he'd love to sell me the car I test drove but he mentioned a totally different make! A huge part of sales is customer service. Not only are you buying an item, but you're buying the experience. Their weekend receptionist looked like she had just rolled out of bed and acted like she was still hung over. She was just as rude and uncaring. Vandergriff needs to work on their brand standards. I waited until I found the car I wanted elsewhere and ended up buying from Northtown Mazda. Above and beyond your average dealership!!! I recently had our car serviced at Vandergriff Honda and was caught a little suprised by the treatment I recieved as compared to what I'm used to getting at other places. Not in a bad way, but this may have been the best service visit I've ever had at a dealership from beginning to end. My service advisor, Mike Symank was top notch in listening to my concerns and fulfilling my requests to the best of his ability. I felt like he explained the service and repairs needed from the perspective of actually owning the car. He helped me prioritize items now, and for the near future, in regards to safety and drivability. The cashier, Emily House, was very attentive in gathering my paperwork and covering charges. She seemed to genuinely strive to make sure even paying my bill went smoothly and all my questions were answered. However, Mike Symank made sure there was no stone unturned and everything was straight forward from the get go. I was given a token for a complimentary drink from their cafe while I waited for my freshly washed car to be valeted for me. That's right, a cafe in the dealership-WOW! The cafe staff was extremely friendly and even made me an iced mocha coffee for the road. I will be taking a road trip soon with my family and already have our SUV scheduled in prior to hitting the road to make sure everything's in good shape. This won't be the first or last one star review this place will ever receive. Everything about this dealership is cheap and shoddy. This is the most stereotypical dealership experience anyone could ever have. Salesman lied to me about the price of the vehicle- I had received many quotes from other dealerships for much less "out the door" but I hesitantly decided to visit this place first because it was closest in proximity to me. BIG MISTAKE. Of all the dealerships I've visited across DFW, this is clearly the most outdated facility. The worst part is that you would think they would try to be more negotiable with their prices due to the inadequacy of their environment, but they actually try to charge more than every other competitor. Vandergriff Honda is a sham of a car dealership. You should be ashamed for trying to tack on OVER $8000 in "non-negotiable" options after you've quoted a specific price through confirmation emails. In the future, you'll probably find it more beneficial for your business if you treat customers with the transparency and respect they deserve. Stop harassing potential customers with so many calls, texts, and emails. It shows how truly desperate you are for business. Lastly, management should be accountable for the actions you take instead of blaming salesman. Your inexperience speaks volumes whenever you won't even leave the sales desk to talk to a client who is ready to make a $30,000 transaction with your company. Without a doubt, the worst car buying experience I have encountered in my 34 years of buying cars for myself, and my family members! I visited the dealership Thursday, April 2nd to test drive and hopefully purchase a used car listed online. The salesman and I could not quite reach an agreement, so I left the dealership without the car. I spoke with the salesman the following morning, Friday, April 3rd and agreed to meet the dealerships final offer from our previous days' negotiations. I took the day off from work and returned to the dealership to finalize the purchase. The salesman and I shook hands on the final price and I thought the deal was done. That is when everything changed. He left to retrieve paperwork only to return and say, "the manager would be out to hopefully wrap up the deal". He again walked off and the manager soon approached me to tell me the online price had just been updated to a new list price, $2,400 higher than the original list price. He said he would no longer honor the previously agreed upon price, even though the salesman had engaged him twice during the initial negotiations. After several minutes of discussions, I ultimately left without the car, extremely frustrated and disappointed. The staff has likely already forgotten the experience, but myself and my two adult children who were with me during the visits will not. My Honda Pilot literally broke down and multiple warning lights came on when I was in Dallas, called all nearby Hondas but no one was willing to take me right away I mean come on, my car was stalling out and would not start or drive properly and I was really stressed out so I reached out to Matt in service and he told me to bring my vehicle right away and he would try to scan the codes and duplicate the problem so I drove from Dallas to Arlington and felt the car was not driving normally but thank God I made it safely, Matt then scanned the codes and my high pressure fuel pump was going out and pressure was low which was causing my car to stall, he then called my extended warranty and got my repairs approved right away and even got me a loaner vehicle the same day, I was so grateful because they were able to figure out what was going on and get the repairs done, funny thing is that after the first fuel pump was replaced the other fuel pump gave out so my car had to stay at Vandergriff for a week for repairs but I wasn't worried since they gave me a car to drive meanwhile, I highly recommend this service department Matt is really great and he always takes care of me when I come in for service very busy man so ladies and gentlemen bear with him, a Service Advisor job is highly demanding. Having gone to two dealerships prior to Vandergriff, I came to this dealership on 10/15 not expecting to walk out with new car, but I was completely wrong. I was referred by a friend to come see Charles Bright because he is an excellent Sales Consultant. I got to the dealership at 9:30 in the morning and was out by 12 in the afternoon with a new Honda Accord LX. Charles along with his Sales Manager Shumon Hussain helped me out tremendously by meeting my needs and wants. When doing credit checks, nothing was discussed in regards to what I can/cannot afford. Charles was focused on the things that I was looking for in a car and he helped me get that car within the payment range that I requested. I got an amazing deal on a very nice car. I would refer anyone to this dealership! They have excellent customer service. From the time I stepped foot out of my car from the parking lot, I was immediately greeted and walked to the front door where again I was greeted by the receptionist. Recently took our Odyssey Elite in for oil change and tire rotation. Was greeted as soon as I pulled up. I walked over to the cafe and our salesman TJ saw me and walked over to say hello. He even asked about my kids and told me to say hello to my wife, talk about good memory. He inquired how our recent purchase was going. I highly recommend TJ if you are in the market. He is very knowledgeable and didn't BS. I did my homework before our last purchase and wouldn't buy from anyone else as long as TJ is there. Also, every employee that passed me acknowledged me and didn't once try and hassle me, just a simple hello and how are you doing. Once my cars service was completed, they walked me through everything and didn't try and sell me on any additional service I know the car didn't need. The service tech was upfront saying that certain things like air filter and tires will probably need to be replaced but not at this time. My husband and I are repeat customers of this dealership. We have always had a great experience with the staff and they always go above and beyond. We recently traded in our car (also purchased at Vandergriff Honda) for a newer model. We were helped by TJ who is AMAZING!!! He is so patient and calm. He is never pushy and answered each and every one of my questions. I am very particular about things, even the littlest details. After we traded in our car, I had changed my mind and wanted a different one. Yuni and TJ were more than happy to accommodate me and let me take the car back for a different one. They also lent us a loaner (not the base model but the high end one) while my new car had things installed. Every time we have had an issue with the car, the staff at Vandergriff Honda have always answered our call and fixed our issue right away. Alpine TX 9/27/2016 I just purchased a used Honda Ridgeline from Vandergriff Honda and was very pleased with the service, assistance and terms of the deal. i live over 500 miles away from the dealership and needed a very detailed description of the condition of the vehicle and the terms of the sale, including the trade in on my older truck, before driving the long distance. Charles Bright was very helpful providing accurate information about the truck, including a description of a test drive, and Jimmy Williams provided all the terms of the deal including the trade in. When i arrived and drove the truck, everything was just as described in advance and the terms of the deal were as discussed over the phone. It took only 2 1/2 hours to test drive the truck and do all the paperwork. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Vandergriff Honda. I made the trip to the dealership today (80 miles out) because I was offered a vehicle and was given the impression that there was a real opportunity to make a deal. Unfortunately, after arriving, I realized that many of the things I had been told beforehand were not true. I was made to waste my time and money traveling to the dealership based on information and promises that turned out to be completely different once I arrived. If they had simply been honest and transparent from the beginning, I would never have made the trip. What is most frustrating is not that the deal did not work out. It is that I feel I was brought into the dealership under false expectations. Honesty and transparency should be the bare minimum when someone is trying to purchase a vehicle and make a major financial decision. I do not recommend Vandergriff Honda. read more

When I decided to purchase a 2016 Honda CRV (after driving the remarkable 2008 CRV) I contacted Vandergriff and requested a female sales person. While I am certain there are several capable sales people at Vandergriff, oftentimes a woman will get the "little lady approach" - that I don't know what I want or what I want to pay for a new car. Along came Vanessa Rogers who was not only competent, and personable, but was extremely knowledgeable on the features of the CRV Touring model. With little to no fuss we were able to make a deal and I drove off with the exact car I wanted. A few days later when I had questions about the navigation system and other features, she never hesitated to drop what she was doing and give me a quick tutorial.
