When I asked him if there's a way to check if there's egg in the ice cream, he said no. I said well IS there egg in the ice cream? (Which isn't all that common, but ice cream with cookies or ones made from custard sometimes have egg, but the vast majority of Ice Cream does not. Just for reference. We just wanted to be safe..) He shut us down. Wasn't willing to check. We ended up walking away with a crying 10-year-old. It's not easy having an allergy when you're a kid. There was absolutely no line behind us. He made zero effort to help us. I just wish people would be a lil nicer and help out a little more. Turns out, we went to Wahlburgers to get shakes to go, and they were so sweet and accommodating. Their hand dipped is Hood or Kemps brand ice cream depending on the flavor. My husband had a hot fudge sundae with banana ice cream. I had the strawberry shortcake sundae. He appreciated that his sundae came in a large square container. Much easier than a cup. The pound cake in my strawberry shortcake was extremely fresh! I'd like to try one of her ice cream cakes. Supposedly they are the best! Parking is a bit tricky in Atlantic City. Be prepared to walk or drive around while someone else goes into the store.

The good news is that the ice cream sandwiches were delivered, bad news is that some extra m&m toppings I had ordered were left out. Some time later I received a call from Juli's who called because my number showed up as a missed call from earlier. Since I had them on the phone I brought up the missing toppings and the lady said, "oh I didn't see that on there. You have to contact Door Dash." I just thanked her and let it go. The meatballs were dense and flavorless, like someone had wrung all the joy out of them. The sauce was red and nothing more. The bread was there, technically, but it felt like a prop. Each bite filled me up while emptying something else inside me. The two employees behind the counter seemed deeply committed to doing as little as possible. Taking my order was an inconvenience. Serving it was a punishment. They moved with the urgency of people who had already decided that nothing really matters, and perhaps they were right. Tazza Cafe might be fine for a coffee or a pastry. The coffee smelled decent, even at 6 PM. The cakes and pastries looked lovely and harmless. But for anything more substantial, for anything meant to feel like dinner, it is a place best remembered as the only option when there are no options left.
