With AP, I experimented and went from nearly hair down to my butt to just an inch or two past shoulder length. I've also tried a lob and long/wavy with bangs. She's extremely patient with hair cuts and cuts a little bit at a time until I've decided that it's short enough. She also remembers past conversations (even with 6 months+ in between) and the fact that I like my hair low maintenance. She takes that into consideration when giving advice for cuts / color, and is honest about what can and cannot be accomplished in one visit while maintaining healthy hair. Though I ought to go in more often, my color still looks good and naturally blended after nearly a year without touch ups. I find AP not only to be a hair magician, but also really down to earth and easy to talk to. She's an artist who knows her medium and I appreciate her work. Recently, she, Cristen and Lucia opened up their own place, Enlighten Hair Studio, and I am following her from Serene to the new location. I had the opportunity to get a hair cut at Enlighten last weekend and found it to be a great place to chill with a clean, modern meets artsy vibe. They're located on the second floor with ample parking in the lot downstairs. I took the stairs but noticed there's also an elevator next to the place. I found this salon through social media and was immediately impressed by the work they shared so I contacted a stylist about booking an appointment and was told to come in for a consultation. I came in for my consultation to speak about what color I was interested in doing and the possibility of some extensions. After showing the stylist the color I wanted (i'll include the picture) I was quoted $370 for cut and color alone, at that point I made a quick decision and said F it i deserve this and booked the appointment. 2 days later after a full 8 hour shift, an hour and a half drive to the salon, and 4 hours in the chair I was BEYOND disappointed with the way it came out. Don't get me wrong the salon itself and the energy and the people working there are great but I am not the type of person to sit there and complain about the 4 hours of work someone had just done and was seemingly so proud of (as i believe most people can agree they would also bite their tongue in a situation like this) I would have said something had I known sooner than after the blowout, but when I'm sitting in a salon chair with no mirror in front of me for hours while 2 rounds of bleach are going on my head and I had no idea what it looked like the whole process what else am I meant to do but trust the stylist. So it wasn't until AFTER the blowout that I realized this was NOT AT ALL the color I had asked for. But I put a smile on my face and walked out the door after paying $370, went home and just cried over what I had just spent over half my paycheck on and now have to pay a different salon to fix because I refuse to go back to this place because I simply don't trust them..

She does not cut more then necessary to get the job done so a trim is truly a trim, which I have found to be rare. I leave her chair feeling beautiful. Also, the vibe of the salon is awesome- very warm and friendly. As if that's not enough- you can even enjoy a complimentary glass of wine. Seriously? I've found my place- couldn't be happier!
