Wow just wow the level of unprofessionalism pretty stunning to me as a salon owner myself , I made the appointment with Jessica for consultation and tape in extensions for 9:00 AM in the morning ,first of all , I had to confirm my appointment the day before! Which was a red flag already . But I wanted to give them a chance. mind you 9:00 not only was very inconvenient for me , but I took the appointment and I was right on time. I knock on the door there's no one there. I called the number and she says she will be about 30 to 45 minutes behind. She's on the freeway, I find that to be extremely unprofessional and disrespectful , as if I have nothing better to do than to be on time for her , she could've texted me , she could've called me ! I wanted to try a new stylist to get a precision layered full weave. I found the Vanity Lounge after doing a little research. I really liked the location because it was extremely close to the freeway and my job. Parking was easy to find on the street. What I really appreciated was she stopped during my weave install and asked if I like my hair or if she needed to change anything. Forgive me but I can't remember the other stylist's name but word around down is she's a double threat as she does hair and full face makeup! You gotta love a one stop shop. I made an appointment for a Friday evening for a full weave. The place was rolling but upon arrival I was greeted and introduce to Taya's assistant. I was immediately taken to shampoo bowl and after got blow dryed while waiting for my turn in Taya's chair. Her assistant does a wonderful job shampooing and her massage gave me life! I'm definitely going to be a regular. I got Malaysian hair installed that blends wonderfully with my natural hair and I absolutely love it! I was up in the area visiting from LA and needed my weave touched up badly. It's my first weave so I'm still learning. One of my tracks was completely out and my closure needed tightening. They booked my appointment in short notice even though I had my weave done elsewhere. Silver, my stylist, was able to start me early and taught me about weave maintenance and care. She did such a great job and styled it beautifully afterwards. The salon itself is also very clean and pleasant. I have been going to J for some years now and I will not change stylist for nobody else in the world. She really puts her heart and soul into what you want done. The products she recommends are always great, she has a way with hair..and makeup. Only she can get my hair flat ironed in the least amount of time and having it looking fabulous. I am SUPER picky especially when it comes to my daughter and her hair. We have tried family and friends and nothing has been right. Bottom line some people do what they want with your hair. We made an appointment with Jess, based on the Yelp reviews she seemed to be the best in the Vanity Lounge Shop. My daughter's 18th birthday was closely approaching and we had contacted multiple stylist, although Jess was one of the highest in pricing, the end result showed you get what you pay for. Jess was on time and professional. The shop is all white and silver which is adorable and the ladies keep it clean. Not a lot of loud obnoxious gossip and chatter which was wonderful. I felt comfortable leaving my daughter alone for her appointment. The only complaint which isn't really a complaint was that she braided her hair tight. So I ordered hair from here and it wasn't my first time so I didn't think twice about where to go. My order was placed on 3/28 and I got a msg from someone at the company they wanted to apologize for the delay and stated they would overnight the order. I was fine with that because it was on the way. When I got the confirmation it was sent 2 day air not over night no big deal. When I got the package the sizes were not what I ordered one was way longer. I ordered specific sizes because I didn't want to cut it cause it makes it hard to reuse. I had a bad job done on my hair and was standing in the beauty supply store trying to get the owner, or anyone to tell me who was good and fair priced around the area. Just then Jessica walked in and told me to come to her place. I was so happy. When she was done with my hair I had gotten an education and a beautiful style. I continue to see her and yes her shop is tiny but its decorated so beautifully. Addendum: I wore the hair for approx a year, and I lost more hair after the weave was taken out than ever in my life. I have severe hair problems now. All I can say is if you wear a weave never leave it in for more than a few weeks and make sure that the braiding isn't so tight that it destroys your hair follicle.
