Before I got my hair done, I had two-toned hair and some box dye left on my hair from a few months ago. Part of my hair was also pretty dead because I used to bleach it over and over up until this year. I came for some colorful highlights (purple and blue) and was worried that my hair wouldn't take the dye too well or that my hair would get super fried, but I got exactly what I wanted and my hair feels really healthy too! (In specific, I got a color correction service and got highlights as per a reference photo that I brought to the appointment.) Simone reached out before the appointment to confirm the hair style and service I wanted which was nice. She was very thorough and intentional throughout the entire hair process and was very kind (even gave me a slice of pizza )! She really went above and beyond. I started going to Simone because of the reviews mentioning her hair cutting skills, as well as her focus on and attention to hair health. Those reviews were not wrong! I'm happy to say that my hair is the healthiest it's been in a very long time and that I get a lot of compliments on my cuts. She asks a lot of questions so that she can always understand the current state of your hair - what you've been doing to it, what products you've been using etc. She uses this information to not only approach your hair in the right way but to make product recommendations and give other care tips. I'm really appreciative of her knowledge, expertise and professionalism. I want to re-iterate her skills when it comes to hair cuts. I've had many great hairstylist over the years, but none of them had the cutting skills beyond a basic trim. She is truly unique in this way. Unfortunately, Simone's communication skills were cold and unprofessional. You can only book through text, and the communication is one-sided. She requires you answer a bunch of questions with no reciprocity. Does not read your responses thoroughly and throws out dates and times that she later takes off the table, with no explanation or other options on the table. If you have a ton of time to go through this for a hair appointment, she may be a good fit for you. Unfortunately, my experience matches the few, but accurate negative reviews that I read on here before I tried to book an appointment. I decided to give her a shot because all the positive reviews seemed to outweigh the few negative, but I learned differently. UPDATE: This is response to the owner's response. I am attaching screenshots of this exchange so you can make your own decision. My responses were short because I'm a full time parent of an infant and trying to answer the texts between taking care of the needs of a 1 year old. I did not initially have a picture of my hair and said I could send it later cause I needed to get out of bed, get my child set for the morning, and then I could send one. Then I realized I had a very personal picture of myself on Christmas morning with my daughter, I sent that within minutes of the owner's request. I did not include that screenshot to protect my family's privacy. When the owner asked for inspiration photos, I had not done research enough to send one to her and she did not say that was necessary to book the appointment, or else I would have taken the time to do that. She said that we would start the appointment with a consultation, and as someone who has not colored my hair since I was in college, I thought a consultation with a seasoned stylist was going to be better rather than going on the internet to find a random photo with no context. In this instance, a phone call would have been more professional and welcoming than texting a stranger with no context of who they are or have going on at the moment. I have to say any sense of unfriendliness that the owner may have perceived, matched my perception of her energy. There were no pleasantries coming from her so I answered her questions in a matter of fact way, while I was managing multiple things. Had there been a tone of collaboration or friendliness, I would have matched that. The expectation that you can do an intake process through text baffles me and affirms that that this was not a match. read more

Simone is the best, book an appointment now! I made the big decision to go from long curly hair to a short pixie. I was feeling nervous about who to trust with such a significant change to my look and I'm so happy I found Simone. I'm a busy mom and working professional so I really appreciated how easy it was to make an appointment with Simone: she fit me in that same week per my request and she was on time with no waiting time whatsoever. You then took her deposit, she takes time out of her work day for a weekday morning appointment, she gets there and you are not there and not coming! You never called, texted or emailed! After growing out my curls during the pandemic and moving back to the Central Valley, I was looking for a new stylist close by to help me go back to a short pixie cut. I found Simone through Yelp and reached out through here with photos attached of the cut that I was looking for. Simone responded quickly, and we further communicated over the phone and through text so that I was able to book an appointment with her. She was so kind over the phone and I could really tell she was already so committed to helping me get exactly what I wanted! I was able to book with Simone about two weeks after our phone consultation, and the day before she was so great to send a friendly reminder text. Simone was incredibly welcoming and the salon was so clean and comfortable. She helped to chop off my thick, shoulder-blade length curls and was really precise in trimming to a pixie cut from there. It was a great experience! I went yesterday, knowing that I needed a cut, and after talking to her about hair health and what would be the next best step that's what we decided on. I love the fact that she heard my concerns about my hair and provided feedback, so it did not feel overwhelming to do the big chop. I communicated with Simone my wedding date from the very beginning (Friday, May 21st) I spoke with her. We talked about how she would have to travel to me since she is not open on Fridays (which was fine with me). I shared my ideas of what I was looking for and she provided suggestions on what I could do and we went from there. I went into her salon for a trial a week before the wedding and she took pictures of my hair (which I totally understand). Then I became a little baffled when we started talking about logistics of the wedding day and she said "wait your wedding is May 21st? I thought it was June 21st?" (which btw doesn't fall on a Friday, it falls on a Monday) and started scrambling through her appointment book for my name (or lack of). She asked me if I could do 11am Friday. This time was perfectly okay with me and was happy she could still do my hair that day. Then she cancelled on me the next day. So I am just trying to figure out how you scheduled then ended up cancelling. Like really? There were other shady things I noticed such as not fully explaining the trial package and what it entails and not bringing up the fact that there is a travel fee cost. but the shadiest thing is having pictures of me on your phone and not providing them to me when I asked for them so the next hair stylist has a clear idea of what I wanted. Overall it worked out in the end and I was able to find someone else to do my hair for my wedding day. read more

She always comments on my hair health and suggest products, treatments and styling tips. Beyond all this Simone is not good but great at what she does- cut, color, and style. Even still this talented artist is kind, funny and smart. Precise cut! I love how my cuts last for weeks , and still look so chic. I enjoy my experience, and the level of detail given to my hair.

Unfortunately, I did not have a positive hair experience with Simone. I gave her an image and very explicit directions on how I wanted my natural hair cut. I do think Simone has great knowledge of how to hold the scissors and cut- it's clear she's well trained. However, I walked out of the salon with a hair style that looked nothing like what we initially agreed upon, and hair so short that no one can really undo the work that was done. There's a small patch of hair cut in the center of my head that is far shorter than the rest. Long strands of hair that should have been cut but we're not and a lopsided cut. I was sent out of the shop with wet hair with olive oil and conditioner in it, no styling and a very very incomplete job. So...here's the thing-I'm selfish and don't like to share. Simone is such a jewel I don't want all you people to start calling her and making it harder for me to get an appt! However, Simone's talents need to be shared with everyone. This lady is the best, period. I've been going to her for a few years now and I think I would probably cry and have a panic attack if she ever left me. At this point in our relationship, I just sit down in her chair and occasionally ask what color she's going to do for me-but usually I just wait to be amazed/surprised by the masterpiece that is my hair when she's done with it. I've had my hair blonde, auburn, copper and now Rihanna red-all of which I have LOVED. I have naturally very curly hair but I've seen Simone's work on every type of hair and she KILLS it.
